Yeah totally agree !!! Like @Codus N said I like them since the Stagiare arc , they have a really nice dynamic and its quite unique compared to the others even as friends ,  but they're still my No.2 crack ship   .

Ok so is Erina being reminded of Jouchirou when seeing Souma cook a good thing or bad? I personally don't see it as a good thing for their personally development, I want to see their story to develop as a mutual attraction built through interaction between the two, not include an emotional attachment they might have with someone else. I want Erina to see Souma when he cooks, not Jouchirou, lets hope they don't go down that route.

 

I'm still at a loss at what it is about the school Azami feels is sub-standard. The Graduation levels is under 10% for the school, maybe even closer 1%, so far everything we have seen has shown how cut throat the school is, and how your standards need to be to survive, we saw someone expelled for wearing too strong smelling hairgel for crying out loud and Erina did not pass a single hopefull into highschool. It still baffles me how we are expected to believe how standards have dropped, yet everything we've seen suggests the school is as difficult as ever.

Hmm, Soma reminding her of Jouichiro in this moment personally did not bugg me that much. He's his father's son after all, so it shouldn't come over as a surprise that some of his mannerism reminds her of Jouchiro.

What I am personally concerned about is when Erina will find out about Jouchiro being Soma's father. I'd prefer it if she finds it out after they've become friends. If she finds it out before that though... Hmm, could feel as though she's just now gotten interested in him b/c she officially got to know of Soma's blood relationship with Jouchirou.

See, that's the reason why I don't ship them. I don't mind couples "fated" to be together, but only if the author bothers to build up the mystery around that "fate" itself like NaLu or HaruxElie for example. If the author just throws it straight out of the gate like that, then you lose all anticipation for it because it's been predetermined from the start.

For the HaruxElie example, there was gradual build-up with their relationship even though you knew there's something that draws them together. The author also slowly builds up the mystery surrounding their destiny.

I rather see how it goes from here on before jumping the gun and judging them so quickly , I rather see how their development goes first  bc we're still pretty much at the beginning of it . With that being said I do trust the author to handle this good as well and I think he/she is fully aware of that issue . I think they'll get to bond first and the secret will be revealed at the end or near the end of their development  . Also since both of them are rivals and trying to pass Joui it might not be so bad , not necessarily all has to be "awe and lovey dovey" bc as rivals that might fuel the fire between them even more , but we'll see I guess .

It's more of overthinking and jumping gun than really confirmed. You should really wait on how it's going to go down, rather than confirm it. Speculation is fine but confirming something not even established is where you should relax and just wait. That's why I don't really hop on board 100% until I know how it begins. We have been getting a buildup, now I want to see what can make me be proud of it.

That's what I'm hoping too, that's why the scene of being reminded of his father kinda put me on edge, up until this point it was his own actions that got Souma on her radar, and why I was satisfied with Souma's response last week, because I felt Souma's actions had to be his own, not a request of someone else that motivated him. I think that's why Jouchirou never got the chance to tell him the true success of cooking to him, because the manga was meant to progress with Souma discovering the truth himself, and his response to Nakira senior showed that, he wanted her to admit it was good, this is probably also hinted at with how Souma seems to go to Erina to test his dishes out, it's meant to show his subconcious mind cooking a dish she approves of and wants to eat.

 

However that's on Souma's side, Erina has not been the same she seems to be on a path to deny his cooking, and this first time where we might see her willing to accept it, we are shown her being reminded of Jouchirou. Ofcourse there is now the possible stumbling block of her feeling gratitude towards Souma if the route taken shows him saving her from her hell, that's why I feel it has to be him supporting her but Erina saving herself from her nightmare. It's why I don't ship Megumi because early on it  was him saving her, until she was strong enough to walk her own path where I like the idea of Hisako more now because he helped her in a different manner and only gave her the excuse to get her moving in the right direction, she moved there on her own.

 

Also just to be clear I made my comment knowing the love hearts in her eyes were photoshopped. That imagemanip had nothing to do with my argument.

If anything, this is a stepping stone since this one has Erina getting bonded with others, rather than staying with her usual bonds, Alice and Hisako. The thing is they're like childhood friends. Here, it's about making new friends in current day. Erina needs that for now and love will come in as a installing screen. It's going to finish but first, you need to download it.

Again, this is something I will wait and see because to be honest, this is the real first from hate to like storyline this series produced and I don't mean like Hisako with Soma because it's more like "Because Erina has problems with you, so do I." This one is more about them. Of course, the beginning of this newfound friendship isn't the end as well. If you have recalled correctly, almost all arcs have them in the ending, separate and/or together. In this case, the ending is already bound for something major, but of course, we need build before we even get to it.

So for me, I'm fine with everything. My concern is if the writer will go all the way or go to long development road. Going former is something that will have them not go anywhere with Soma in development and bonds. I mean look at Niseikoi. Often feels like a mess. Going with the latter, it's more engaging and probably have other pairings obvious to not happening but that's what happen when you don't go all 100% on feelings, unlike other characters. I'm more of a fan of not knowing or know but they won't say it as they're being said/teased, so Soma and Erina fits that bill.

Well, let's see what the road takes us.
