At this point, if the chapter is not fake, then it's also very much not what it appears on the surface.

 

The sequence of the story panels was deliberate.  Red herrings abound.  Since no more than one parent for each child is ever explicitly said (and Salada is the only one that looks nothing like the parent whose panel she is included with), it's not a stretch to say that our initial horror at the pairings could have been premature.

 

I think the easier eggs just are there to confirm that 700 is very light hearted AND at the same time has a lot of meat to it that we need to continue to pick at.

Whether or not it is simply an easter egg- you've got to admit that some interesting things are discovered in this thread ;) These last two chapters were so horrible that they clouded my senses to pay close attention to the chapters tbh. I've read Ch. 699 once and will prob not do it again b/c it is not worth my time.

 

Not going to be bring myself to read 699 again and even if NS does become canon, I'm still not going to read it.

Interesting? Yes. Dissecting every nook and cranny of the pages for hidden meanings seems a tad excessive though. What do you think will be the end result of all this compiling once the movie is released? Are you more than halfway certain for a miracle to pop out that will salvage this universe's ending?

I just thought of a great theory! It ties with IT, and it would explain the children in the movie and 700 chapter.

The Madara's/Kaguya's IT ended in 699. So 699 is not under IT.

The new guy Toneri. What if he put a limited IT on Hinata? He is connected to Kaguya. And Kishi already made IT in RTN (without any special eyes). We also have info of him doing some ritual on Hinata (see Hinata's weird black dress!).

Think about it. Chapter 700 is OOC. What if 700 (and all events in it) is from Toneris limited IT on Hinata.

We don't have to see NH/SS kids at the end of the movie. We expected this. But what if they make 5 min appearance (covering 700) in the movie? Hinata can dream 700 and then be awakened by Naruto and ko!

This is supported by the info of that narrator who teased NS! It also logical that IT being used in the movie. Then somehow this being the same IT from manga!

This is just rough summary of my theory. Maybe you guys can build on it and explain it more!

Unlike the others here in this thread, I do not have expectations for this movie. It would be indeed incredible if SP was fooling its audience around all this time only to let the course of the story in the movie take a 360 degree turn. Nevertheless, I am curious about the things people discover in here. What is done in here might seem pointless and and a waste of time to others, but if people want to cling on to some last bit of hope by giving the movie a chance, then let them be. It's better than cursing, mourning, and complaining about Kishi 24h in the other threads- too much negativity. Everyone in here, including me, is doing this to help out Chatte who's trying to formulate one last theory. What's there for us to loose? If the theory turns out to be wrong, people might be disappointed and depressed for a while, but that pain will diminish after a while. 

But I do agree that some theories proposed in here a little bit farfetched

Ok guys I literally spent 5 hours reading pages 1 through 87, and I'm pretty much crapping myself right now. Good job keeping ns alive and looking through everything.

One thing I'm surprised that nobody mentioned was how kurama is still sleeping in the last chapter and how this can mean that genjutsu is active. A bijuu grants immunity to genjutsu after all and since kurama is still out of commission I believe this strengthens the theory that everyone is unknowingly in genjutsu, including naruto. However, I really think the IT theory isn't true though since part 3 is going to be about these kids. If these kids are a product of IT I think it would be pretty weird to have a part dedicated to them.

I believe what's more likely is toneri hooking up with Hinata or something since his and Hinata's daughter's eyes seem pretty similar as well as because of the weird black wedding dress Hinata was wearing leak. Since Toneri seems to have his own tailed beast mode, this may explain the whiskers. It's a little far fetched but I'm just brainstorming. The only main obstacle that's unexplainable in the ns theory is the whiskers on both narutos son and hinatas daughter. I think it may also be a possibility that the other half of kurama was sealed in Hinata or something. But nicely done everyone, especially chatte for keeping this alive. I'm very interested to see how this all plays out haha.

Remember when Kurama lent Naruto the last of his chakra to fight Sasuke, he said he would be going to sleep and couldnt help Naruto? What was the significance of having that happen? It could indicate that a lot of time hasnt actually passed and in extension, this reality, this epilogue, is IT.
