Avatar? Why? Korra? I see it as a loosely sequel based but it doesn't often continue where it left off, just references. Plus, it is more distant future, so it leaves more creative ideas, even though they haven't done so much...or am I mistaking for something?

Just an example to show my point, but yeah. I can't take the ruined Kataang family as canon, the show is more sexist now, the writers blame the fans and don't care about their characters.

Ah, I see what you mean. I don't mind the family part that much, though wish for something more to them to get a better idea, but others I understand. Writers blame the fans? What do you mean? Also, I just don't like love triangle being a foreground story. That shouldn't happen.

Bryke once commented on fans complaining about the love triangle. I don't remember the exact words, but they denied that it was bad writing, and basically put the blame on us.

It was in an interview, I'm trying to find it now.

What's funny is I bet they think they can do better than the creator him/her self I mean to me that is just very unfair in my eyes.

How is the Kataang family ruined? Well either way, for me avatar ended with Aang & Katara kissing. LOK doesn't exist to me.hmph.gif

Definitely not a coincidence. This should give people more perspective over Kishi's seriousness in the matter of pairings since the mirroring and the aet concept/placement is similar in both instances (aka the love interests and redemption guys)

Well to be fair the shippers in the fandom have probably gotten on their nerves so many times during the Kataang vs Zutara shipping war.

They treat both the males and females badly, but the females are a particurlar case. Pema is flat and nothing more than a mother and a wife, Lin got thrown in the trash after season 1. Eska and Asami's arcs are connected to their men, they have to give them importance, but in the end they are not. The writers included the 'crazy girlfriend' trope, which I hate. It was used for comedy, because crazy women are so funny.

(and this is just the stuff I come up with on the spot, the season ended last year)

Luffyq1, have you watched LoK season two at all?

Ok, I'll be waiting.

So we are to be blamed for love triangle to be bad or however he said it? That's odd because the majority and I do mean majority have said it's bad. Even I thought it's bad. It's just...I don't want to go there.

Definitely not a coincidence. This should give people more perspective over Kishi's seriousness in the matter of pairings since the mirroring and the aet concept/placement is similar in both instances (aka the love interests and redemption guys)

The fact we're in a new volume gives us a big time gap for more in depth developments once Naruto and Sasuke wake up. Have them wake up in like 9th chapter of last volume could result a rushed moment. Granted, it could still happen, but right now, we just has to wait.

That Lin part is really odd like she's like a whole new character. I mean a new character. I don't mind too much on not doing action scenes, but she was there to be a blockage for Mako. So what the hell? Yeah, the way they handled Asami is really questionable and almost forced me to dislike her. Like, shouldn't it be better to focus more on her situation that is like going rock bottom. It did but man, it concluded quick.

Especially considering the fact that Bryke made fun of Zutara like there was no tomorrow xD.

Bits and pieces of it, only when it involves kataang  :sweatdrop:. But yeah, you're right about season 1. I really wanted to like Asami, but her constant pining over Mako was annoying.

I see what you mean. I suppose I just didn't give it too much thought before, but you're right. The lack of development in the characters is definitely very lazy on the writers' part. It's like, the potential was there, but the effort was not and the result was often haphazard and lackluster . That's probably part of why I just can't seem to get behind Korra as a main character no matter how hard I try. I just can't seem to root for her, not the way I did Aang.

Well atla did have the advantage of having more episodes to give room for development

Bits and pieces. Then you may know or not know?

The problem was that Aang was a neglecting father towards his two eldest, those who are not airbenders. Their grudge is so great they are still not over it, in their 50's. Katara was not even mentioned. I wouldn't mind if they presented family issues, because no family is perfect irl or in a:tla. It was all to develop the siblings, but they did not consider their parents characters at all. It made them OOC. The solution was a comforting family picture(which didn't solve anything, just softened the blow), except Tenzin who got proper conclusion with his father.´

Korra is going up and down. But it bothers me that they bring her down, just to bring her up again. :/ Ex; Right before she lost her memory, she was terrible. Then she came back like a sunshine.. It's inconsistent.

Well at least she is better but hopefully, progress more toward that than keep going up and down. The sad part in a way is that she came out matured in the whole love triangle fiasco, only leaving me thinking others are despicable.

That's true, but after two seasons I would expect to be able to root for the main character. Like sushi said, Korra's characterization is up and down. The writers' really seem like they don't know how to handle her development and it's all over the place. There is time for them to make improvements, but it won't undo what's been done, and I'm not sure it will improve my view of Korra. It would just be too little too late.

I'm worried about season 3. She matured so much at the end of season 1, then she was really bad in the beginning of season 2. She matured again in the end, but I hope they won't regress her once again for the new season.

you feel me?
