Especially considering the fact that Bryke made fun of Zutara like there was no tomorrow xD.
Bits and pieces of it, only when it involves kataang
. But yeah, you're right about season 1. I really wanted to like Asami, but her constant pining over Mako was annoying.
Bits and pieces. Then you may know or not know?
The problem was that Aang was a neglecting father towards his two eldest, those who are not airbenders. Their grudge is so great they are still not over it, in their 50's. Katara was not even mentioned. I wouldn't mind if they presented family issues, because no family is perfect irl or in a:tla. It was all to develop the siblings, but they did not consider their parents characters at all. It made them OOC. The solution was a comforting family picture(which didn't solve anything, just softened the blow), except Tenzin who got proper conclusion with his father.´
I see what you mean. I suppose I just didn't give it too much thought before, but you're right. The lack of development in the characters is definitely very lazy on the writers' part. It's like, the potential was there, but the effort was not and the result was often haphazard and lackluster . That's probably part of why I just can't seem to get behind Korra as a main character no matter how hard I try. I just can't seem to root for her, not the way I did Aang.
Korra is going up and down. But it bothers me that they bring her down, just to bring her up again. :/ Ex; Right before she lost her memory, she was terrible. Then she came back like a sunshine.. It's inconsistent.
