Ok, so I've caught up with Black Clover a few days ago, and right now, it is more of a Naruto and Fairy Tail mix if you ask me. Especially, the last page of Ch.4 just had me like: Dude, am I reading Fairy Tail, or what?!

 

That's exactly what I thought of too as soon as I laid eyes on the first couple of pages lol

Most shonen manga seems to fall into generic tropes which makes it predictable and boring. I want something thats a little more refreshing story telling. I don't mind some cilche's being used but tone it down a bit.

exactly ! If it was released a few years ago, I would have understand, and thought that maybe it was not that bad. 

But now, everyone write the same story... we want something new...original..-and just as you said- refreshing. And you know where you can find this : in Seinen mangas.

It's not easy to make a fantasy manga popular, especially in jump magazine.
There's so many fantasy title manga that get cancel in jump because it's not popular or the poor volume sales.

It just shonen being shonen.
Seinen has mature audience, so seinen could have more mature and usual story.

If I could give you three shounen manga recommendations it would be these three:

1. One-Punch Man (which some consider a lighthearted seinen)

2. Magi

3. Boku no Hero Academia

Very true. I admit that my knowledge of manga isn't particularly vast, but I would imagine that this type is getting increasingly difficult to sell because there seem to be so many of them.

Just as NS4L said, we maybe need to dig deeper to find something better, because some good mangas are generally underestimated and unknown while the more popular ones are overestimated.

You'll love OPM and Magi! OPM is deconstructing certain shounen tropes, and Magi (written by a woman) looks funny and all with a chibi as a MC, but OMG, how the events have unfolded up to now... About BnHA: In my eyes, it is a little but shounen-clichee driven, but by now the characters have become so likable- it's hard to out it down. The MC is different from any other shounen MC I've seen so far. Up to where did you read it? B/c the early stages were rather slow paced.

If I could smack them I would.... like, how could you treat the series like that? How? and did you notice how that girl (the one with brown hair) Sakura was fighting got better animation than Sakura did most of the anime?

 

They will do anything to degrade Sakura/NS. I hate this studio with a passion.

 

I even saw some TAKA and Karin? Oh boy talk about damage control.

 

Yeah, Sakura's punch was just the obvious indication of kitten animating.

 

This studio just needs to burn.

 

I wonder if the animators will try to throw some SuiKarin in the next episode, because I bet if Karin does show up in part three, she's gonna be with Suigetsu.

 

The animation in general was just horrid in today's episode. But meh, at least Ino got to shine. It was funny getting to see Sakura and Choji fighting together, since they would be the last two I'd ever expect to do something like that together. The fight was sh*tty though, since all they really did was attack after the other did some move. Next episode will probably be more interesting, since Sasuke and Taka(where the kitten have y'all been?) appear.

Yes. The battle just felt like every attack was going in slow motion.

OPM MC seems soo charismatic and badass ! 

I've read just the first chapters...don't know how many though... The story is about a hero who doesn't have super powers while most of people do...or something like this ? right ?

Nope.

It's about a guy who can literally solo anyone. With him, it's hilarious and awesome. With others, it's awesome. The art, good god.

Imao, the MC of OPM is not charismatic at all XD His character and overall representation mock fun of the classic shounen hero- but that's why he is so awesome. Yup, that's the basic premise of BnHA. But the way it is executed is done right. It sounds so clichee and boring, but the manga kittens on Naruto right now in every way. Humor is topnotch, and many interesting characters. If you ever decide to catch up, I doubt you'll regret it.

I'm just saying b/c I liked BnHA in the early stages, but it took me a while to really get excited for it as of right now. You'd be surprised about the amount if people go complained in the early beginning.

I know but sometimes, I feel that it's double edge sword because you can start strong but you did it too quick that after that looks like it will never hit that peak. That's why you come across arguments for Naruto that after Chunnin, everything is alright. I don't think that but I do think it did a lot while still have some more but never take that chance.

I will say it with no hesitation. This is the most challenging series for Madhouse yet because the art in action scenes are seriously amazing. This got to be the hardest adaptation yet.

 

On BnHA, yes. The concept has a nice spin and really, I thought I had to deal with another Tsuna from Hitman Reborn, but he does in fact developed and it actually tells you how is that. It does help that he is smart and fear (if you read the first chapter) fades away more and more. So yeah, this has potential.
