ahk what do you think of this?
That wouldn't actually interest me. Besides Zoro is clearly more interested in fulfilling his dream for Kuina's sake as well anyway. revenge would be ooc. Well I think so at least, and the fact is a revenge focused plot will ruin the mood set up already

@luffy, what do you think about it?
where i see the main flaw in that theory is that luffy won't allow zoro to leave, and zoro has too much respect for luffy to leave the ship, especially after what he said regarding usopp's departure. if zoro left it would kinda make him look like a hypocrite.

I don't think that's entirely the case, because I'm sure that Luffy would suggest they all go together. Remember when he asked Brook if he wanted to make a pit stop to see Laboon first?where i see the main flaw in that theory is that luffy won't allow zoro to leave, and zoro has too much respect for luffy to leave the ship, especially after what he said regarding usopp's departure. if zoro left it would kinda make him look like a hypocrite.

Also, That student vs teacher deal is already being used, as Zoro was taught by Mihawk, so it's a little redundant there. I don't see them halting their journey to go back to the east blue regardless, the only way that comes up is the teacher manages to make it to the new world, and the storyline picks up there, but that's not really believable in the context of the story.
knowing zoro, i would think his pride would get in the way and he would like to do it alone. i mean this theory is what made zoro who he is today. but i guess you're right.
i actually hate that zoro went to mihawk to ask for training. i think it's such a disgraceful act from zoro to ask the best swordsman in the word to help you out to becoming the next best swordsman in the world. it feels like a shortcut to fulfilling his dream.

I really, really, really loved that Zoro went to Mihawk for help, because his motivation was genuine. He didn't go to Mihawk for a leg up or a shortcut, he threw his pride out the window and knelt before an enemy, his greatest enemy, purely for Luffys sake. Him training with Mihawk as his teacher wasn't because he wanted a cheap way to collect his dream, but it was because he respects Luffy so much that he would do anything to help him. That scene to me, where he bowed his head, was just as impactful on Zoro's character as when he offered to sacrifice his life for Luffy's sake, they both showed how dedicate he is to Luffy.
Also, I don't think him learning from Mihawk helps him in order to achieve his dream, rather I think it places him at a significant handicap, because Mihawk, over his two years supervising Zoro, will have noted all of his tendencies, his skill set, etc. I think it will be harder go Zoro to accomplish his dream now.
even if it wasn't his intention, it still cheapens his road to becoming the world's greatest. sure, it may benefit mihawk to know more about zoro, but the opponents zoro will face will be much easier for him now that he has gotten training from the world's greatest. you saw what he did to pica, reduced him to fodder.
the only way i will be fine with this is if someone beats mihawk before zoro. right now, i don't like it one bit. it feels like such a cheat code.

No don't agree with that theory, Kuina's death was an accident, If her father was responsible he would not have given Zoro the family heirloom, the priceless sword he has. Kuina had a dream of being the strongest swordperson and dispite having the skill, she lacked the strength and tha depressed her and she tried harder to overcome this, and that is what lead to the accident.
If Oda takes this route I will lose some respect for him, it's lame and honestly not good enough for the manga, besides look at this. That is a father who still visits his daughters grave and tells her of Zoro's exploits and how he's living her dreams.

Well, that was supposed to be the point. He is Luffys second, he needs to be that strong. It's no different than Luffy being taught by Rayleigh, really. Luffy has made Doflaming look like caca thus fareven if it wasn't his intention, it still cheapens his road to becoming the world's greatest. sure, it may benefit mihawk to know more about zoro, but the opponents zoro will face will be much easier for him now that he has gotten training from the world's greatest. you saw what he did to pica, reduced him to fodder.

but did oda really have to make zoro train under the guy who's standing in the way of his dream? i'd rather have zoro be trained by someone who isn't his goal in life. rayliegh isn't the pirate king and there are bound to be people much stronger than rayleigh, you can't say the same for mihawk because he's the best in the world, so it isn't different to be honest.
and doffy is still up and about. banged up from laws attack, being tossed around the city, and luffy is giving it his all, yet he's still standing. that says a lot about doffy. gear 4 just ain't cutting it.

man i'm so disappointed in luffy. my expectations were too high. he can't even beat a crippled doffy with his strongest attacks. the next arc better not have luffy facing an emperor, because if he does he'll be dead before he even realizes it. luffy just isn't ready for opponents like doffy, let alone emperors.
what a total let down. makes me want to change my avatar to someone who's worthy, like shanks. he would never disappoint me.
