To clear up some things: I t appears that LadyGt simply pressed the wrong button. She basically deleted it herself unintentionally. Lol. Some members in here cleared it up for us.

How do they know this?

Not sure if this will help you guys feel better, but Kishi said this interview with Entermix magazine:

Since the beginning of Naruto, the plan was to always finish the manga with Naruto vs Sasuke.

From start to finish, the relationship of Naruto and Sasuke mirrors that of twin brothers. The reason is Kishimoto-sensei has a twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto. Kishimoto-sensei says Naruto and Sasuke’s friendship was modeled after him and his brother.

The interview shifts to questions more directly related to the manga. At the end of 699, Sasuke leaves the village to go traveling. Entermix asks what was the intention of this and Kishimoto-sensei responds that after all of the things Sasuke has done, it would be tough to live in the village like everybody else so he went on a journey of atonement. Further, in Kishimoto-sensei’s mind, Sasuke has gone out into the world to find the answers to all of the unanswered questions. For example, who and what was Kaguya exactly? Sasuke wants to find out how her plan for revival was executed the first time around so it could be avoided in the future. In order to unnecessarily avoid lengthening the manga, however, Kishimoto-sensei decided to skip writing about it and he has no plans to continue that storyline.

That's a missed opportunity right there, and I think it would've been interesting to see Kishi go down this path with Sasuke's character.

Now comes most of us don't come to like (along with myself)

While the manga was geared toward friendship, the theme in The Last: Naruto the Movie will be about love. Kishimoto-sensei explains the idea was originally from the anime producers. He himself was unable to write about love in the manga, it was something he avoided due to feelings of embarrassment, so he felt this could go well as a movie theme to further show Naruto’s growth. The script for the movie was not written exclusively by Kishimoto-sensei, rather he was given a script so that he could recommend changes to properly flesh out the story and set the mood.

So this interview does kinda clear up a few more things about The Last, and I'm just sitting here like well I'm a tiny part of me is satisfied towards Kishi (except for the whole Sakura being terrible woman if she changed her feelings. Never gonna forgive him for that.)

Lol. Kishimoto is really naive isn't he? I guess he's unaware of the general consensus that the SasuNaru bond was way way exaggerated to the point of gayness.

Its sweet that he dedicates an important part of the manga to the bond he shares with his brother but I highly doubt Seishi Kishimoto is left very impressed after being compared to a crazy character like Sasuke.

I was on a tumblr and out of damn nowhere I just got a kittenon of NH on my dash. It's been spotless of that atrocity for months. Needless to say I screamed in horror, bleached out my eyes, and unfollowed in a heartbeat.

... I'm sorry. I'm just severely allergic to NH and their "development" in The Last. Can't take that kitten on my dash, it gives me nightmares. :argh:

Well of course Kishi didn't write the script. He's a mangaka not a script writer. He just rewrote it so many times to fit his standards.

Which one? I just checked and all of them are from Hinata.

Poor Naruto... had to end up with such a terrible character. This series is a joke.

Sasuke wasn't smiling in that cover art. His arms were extended outward beyond the frames of the panel with his eyes closed and a frown depressing his features. The posturing gives an impression of solemn acceptance, not enjoyment.

That panel was likely intended to make reference to what he mentioned to Naruto about the extreme measures he was willing to use by offering his body up (and, by his own admittance, his soul and afterlife) to Orochimaru if it increased the odds of successfully carrying out his revenge against Itachi.

I wasn't talking about a cover by Kishimoto. I was talking about the poster Studio Perriot made years ago, featuring Sasuke smiling with Orochimaru's tongue coiled around him.
