Well, I started off watching the anime, and unlike in the manga, Hinata was introduced right in the first episode as being in love with Naruto and the only peer who seemed to support him (albeit silently).
Their development during the Chuunin exams (i.e. the blood oath & the talk before the finals) really made it seem like Kishimoto destined them to be together.
And then there was the filler where Naruto saw Hinata showering under the waterfall, and thought to himself that she was beautiful.

Now that I think about it, I really do wonder how many NH fans became one as a result of watching the anime first. Some fans might now know what material is canon and what Studio Pierrot edited/changed, but that might not have changed their already established impressions. It certainly didn't completely change how I felt about NaruHina even after NaruSaku became much more developed.

What's most important in determining a ship for me, however, is the knowledge that your pairing will become canon. Up until Naruto met his mother, there were some hints like the JiraTsu parallel of succeeding in winning over the girl, but such things weren't quite strong enough as evidence. Then I saw the similarities between Kushina and Sakura, especially in the way Kishimoto drew their panels in explicit parallel to one another, and when Kushina told Naruto to find someone like her, it kind of just clicked. There was just no more denying that NaruSaku was destined to become canon, and the recent Road to Ninja only served to further reinforce the comparison between NaruSaku and MinaKushi. (Again, why would Kishimoto so shamelessly parallel the two pairings within the movie if he was just going to make a different pairing canon in the end?)

At this point, I'll be damned if we're actually wrong.

Same here man. At first I was SS but after seeing the way he treated her, I couldn't support it anymore especially the curse-mark scene and the hospital apple scene. Though I didn't become a Naru-Saku fan until I read Part 2 and I agree. After All this development and build-up and parallels and subtle hints and dialogue, NaruSaku just feels right.

Agreed on the anime part too. It seemed to me like they down-played a lot of NS moments. Though I stopped watching it after episode 130 in part 1, wwaayyy too much filler to get through.

I wasn't really surprised about it, I mean this was about the past generations flaws or something.
I was more surprised that the flashback ended sooner than I thought.

Not really as it was said time and time again how hashirama defeated Madara at the valley of the end, but in reality Madara survived and gained some of hashiramas DNA giving him the abilities to access the rinnegan much later in his life. The battle left Madara alive but very weakened and unable to do what he once could. Near the end of his life, Madara awakened the rinnegan and was able to summon the gedo mazo from the moon, he was able to draw power from it to survive but not control it's power fully. Madara figured the gedo mazo was the key to the ultimate happiness that the ancient stone in the uchiha clan was for. The stone was important in the series as it popped up again and again but no the meaning and what was revealed differed dependent on if the reader had the basic sharingan, myngecko sharingan, or rinnegan. The rinnegan would reveal all.

Anyways yeah it's no suprise, hashirama tried to kill Madara in order to protect the village and try to keep the progress they worked and desired in the first place. He wanted to protect the new peace and order to make it so ninja did not need to revert back to the countless and pointless bloodshed in the years before the ninja villages.

I was an adamant SasuSaku shipper as well. Starting off, I was drawn to the pairing because of some AMVs I ran across on Youtube. People would use the bench scene in SasuSaku videos, and I hadn't actually read or watched the series at that point, so I truly thought it was Sasuke that she almost kissed.

I also really liked Sasuke's appearance. I was 15 at the time and going through an embarrassing phase...
...*ahem*...>->; --Click here to view--

...so I was a lot more attracted to Sakura being with him. He was my cup of tea. tongue.gif

Thus, going into the series, I was 100% SasuSaku. I was confused when I found out that Naruto was actually the one that shared the moment with Sakura at the bench. The AMVs that I had seen didn't share that tidbit. LOL. Regardless, I kept shipping SasuSaku, hoping that they would have more moments together in the future.

It was during the Forest of Death that I really started to deviate from SasuSaku. I became more of a Sakura fan than a pairing fan, and when Sasuke told her to shut up before the preliminaries, that really rustled my jimmies. hm.png

By the end of the hospital scene, I completely despised Sasuke and the idea of SasuSaku.

Yes and No.

Yes, because he actually did it after all the friendship times they had, but the paths they gone through is what changed them into the way they are at the end. I just didn't think the way he said it would happen. He was extremely determined to keep the way it was, which is understandable, but like Madara said, he's changed because even when the situation grows worse, he would have find an alternative way that keeps their friendship. That moment always felt like the toughest choice in the world, like you can pause for a long time and decide whether to kill him or not. One is easy and one is good.

No, because it has been said that he did kill him. Also, because of that moment, that's an example of the old generation messing up for the future. Naruto is going to surpass it. I would have thought that the whole thing would have been good, but that ultimately failed. Therefore, more parallel to surpass and honestly, it's already obvious enough, so no doubt, these parallels hold a strong meaning. Oddly enough, it reassure me about parallels being important and this shows. Again, it's not that they're parallel because of personalities only, rather the story/background behind it.

Honestly, once that Kishi made one parallel confirmed for NS, it's already given who's going to be endgame. Extremely recommend for MinaKushi to be 100% confirmed. It can by only comparing Kushina with another woman.

The other thing is that Kishi said that he didn't want Shikamaru to get paired with anyone.

He didn't say he wouldn't get paired. Just that he didn't need to write a romance. Which he hasn't done for any of the side character kids. Kishi also said Shikamaru would be Naruto's right hand man and confidant, which never happened. Kishi's interviews, especially when they are a few years old now, should be taken with a grain of salt.

A part of Shikamaru's character arc is finally learning what his dad was trying to teach him about women. And now that his father is dead, it makes total sense for him to be pushed toward that girl as the war and manga ends. ShikaTema is not a romance. Just an inevitably that will take no one by surprise. BTW, the name of the code girl was Shiho. She was cute, but hasn't appeared since the Pain arc ended.

The other character who might be with someone is Ino, again given she is now head of her clan. I honestly thought she might fall for Choji during the war, but that is unlikely now with her still hung up on Sasuke.

In the beginning I liked Sasuke because I thought that he could get over the whole revenge thing, especially when he started to show a nicer side to Sakura by encouraging her to take the exams[Not too mention that Lightning and Fire are my favorites especially Lightning Blade]. Then the whole curse-mark scene came along but even so after that we had the scene where he told Naruto to save Sakura and I gave him a pass. I mean, he shouldn't have been so cold with the curse mark but he didn't want Naruto to worry and I can understand the whole fight through pain thing. Some people are just like that. The apple scene however, completely turned me. Even when he thanked her afterwards that was way out of line and that was the final straw for me in terms of SS because thats when it got abusive and he became unstable. After he tried to kill her in part 2, there's no way SS is ever going to happen. Naruto however always had her happiness first in his priorities even if it cost him his own. Now thats what love really is, at least in my opinion anyway. Thats what really brought me over to NaruxSaku, well and the hundreds of other moments cool.gif

When she tried butting into his business during the preliminaries, I started hating her even more for messing with Sasuke's swag. Then came the hospital scene, and when Sakura tried running in to interfere with yet another awesome action sequence, I kinda hoped she would actually get in between them and die a painful death.

To be honest...I had doubts...but then Naruto's transformation into its 4 tail Kurama form, and Sakura's reaction, the training to master the rasengan, the broken arm, the feeding scene [In part 1 she was reluctant to feed him, in this one she offered to feed him.], the Jiraiya's death consolation, the scream for Naruto panel, the hug, Sai's revelation, the confession, the second hug, the bridal style rescue, the poisoned Kunai comedy moment, and I will stand next to you scene.

vs
The stalker scenes, the stalker scenes, Pierrot's fanservice, more stalker scenes, the confession, I will hold your hand, Do hold hands, before he begins holding hands with everyone else. "You are annoying" Sasuke's favorite representation of Sakura. More Pierrot's fanservice, and the almost killed the girl who liked you scene, if it wasn't for the guy who is enamored with her coming to the rescue.

For future reference, the scenes of Sakura and Sai watching Naruto train, Sakura making pills for Naruto, and Naruto holding Sakura's notes of encouragement are actually filler. Pierrot fanservice indeed.

I always saw Sasuke has another Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter without the funny part, whenever I saw Sasuke fight I always ended up supporting the other person no matter who they was, that arrogance he has was unbearable so I wanted someone to beat his as* even if they were bad guys.
I don't know what it was but from the moment he start bragging about how inferior the others were compered to the Uchihas clan my dislike just keep growing and growing but when he told Naruto that he will be more special than him, I could not stand him anymore.

In regards of pairing, well I always Picture the main guy with the main girl, just lately I start exploring more about pairing since that wasn't my main focus in the past.

I think you misinterpreted her panel. Even though Ino still has feelings for Sasuke she's aware that it's not a good thing, and something that she will need to overcome. That was pretty clear when she sarcastically referred to her feelings for Sasuke as "positive love".

I think that at the very least if there's some epilogue we'll see how Ino finally moved on from Sasuke and towards whichever guy she chooses now. Maybe Chouji.
