The link trang95 posted is spot on. I've been calling 700 an advertisement for a while. And that's clearly all it is.

And did LadyGT's work just get taken down from Pixiv, or her tumblr, too?

No LadyGT's looked the most like Kishimoto's style. That's why it's such a threat. And that's why none others were targeted there, or anywhere else.

They don't want audiences being confused when they look online. They don't want them to think somehow that the manga actually did support NS and the movie just might be a giant retcon. They don't want her message of a happy NS ending confusing potential viewers with the retcon of NH.

It's a backhanded compliment, really.

True as it may be, why on earth a work from Kishimoto himself or his entourage (or shall we call them his minions?) would be on pixiv, a fan-art site? Imo they are grasping at air.... Trying to erase from collective memory all NS. Unfortunately for them we have a very very good memory....

Still this reflects very badly on the whole studio/person/whomever-did-this/the-establishment.

But as you said, it a backhanded compliment, and even more, it highlights the fact that this ending is so bad and non-sensical that they are afraid of fan-art.

Thank you so much for posting this. It's like flipping the light on exactly what's happening. It's not a story decision, a creative or even an emotional one — it's a business decision.

I will copy posts those and make a separate thread for them. We need a dedicated marketing discussion since that's what they're hitting us with.

Exactly, and a friend of mine thinks it's like Kishimoto-sensei got forced by his editors to do what happened and thus making this damn mess we got now... :(

If Pixiv operates anything like YouTube, all it would take to get the work off the site would be to place a claim on the artwork, a few SP, SWJ, NaruHina, or SasuSaku fans would just need to report the artwork, claiming it was stolen or something like that and Pixiv would take the work down, not even bothering to check if the claims are correct...or atleast that's how YouTube and other similar services work.

Ofcourse I could be wrong, I can't really say for certain as I don't know how Pixiv operates. Though it wouldn't surprise me if it something similar, the poor lass seems to have been on the receiving end of allot of hate from the NH fans who care more for them getting the ending they wanted than the manga ending in a way that actually made sense. The difference between Fans and Fanboys, a True fan will love the ........ but will not stop from questioning any questionable decisions made, because they love ................. and want to see it suceed and continue to improve, a Fanboy accepts everything the ......... does and feels obliged to defend them no matter what, giving the creaters false belief that what they are doing is correct.

I heard some poor kid didn't even get that....

I prefer Chrono Trigger. Actually there was some fan games that were going to show alterations to Chrono Cross with the story more in line with Chrono Trigger. Not that it matters since that is a series that will never be touched again it seems.
