Maybe it's kishi way to transition to seinen manga. Me and nar123 that the peak of kishi art is on search for sasuke arc to immortal arc. After that we got much more rough design, I think he want to make it much more realistic. But I think his clean artwork is the best. Well kishi saving grace is his art.

For oda, I always feel that his artwork is more cartoonish (like caricature?). And it suit the comedic aproach of his manga. So the gag doesn't feel out of place with the art, unlike naruto last glove years manga where his comedy become dry and boring.

Well he want to make seinen, so his shonen feel more seinen. But I think he's not succeed in doing so. The only one who successfully do that is togashi and have togashi doesn't goes hiatus, hxh will become the second popular character, naruto third, bleach fourth. And we got big four, until kubo and kishi fall(running out of idea).

One Piece has that design that works well with the genre. Like you said, it works its advantages. Naruto peak as you say probably did hit it at those arcs, with few exceptions later on. Still, I remember that Kishi use to do something more imaginative like Zetsu before he became a plot device or Kisame, which never got explained, but then every new characters are similar, now big bust. Oh well.

I hope wano will be centered around Zoro and Tashigi (my other otp aside from Luffy and Nami).

I hope the kuina lookalike is helped by the straw hats to overcome her gender insecurities to the sexist samurais and prove her worth. 

I wish Nami plays a huge part in her character development. I really want Nami to shine after being absent for like 2 years and she has potentially great chemistry with the marine girl. Even Sanji might say something epic like "I am a ladies' man but I would never mock their dreams and ambitions"

I agree with tashigi, the only opponent zoro can't beat in sword duel is mihawk and kuina.

What if nami is the descendant of the ancient superpower country from the lost century whom create the poneglyhp and Olympian WMD?
Perhaps it would answer her aptitude to read weather.

Nami compared her to Bellemere so I can see future development and it would be if the navigator is the one encouraging her like a mother.

 

I have always wondered if Nami was Shank's daughter. I don't know many red heads in the series... when I think about it Shanks was in east blue recruting his crew like 2 years before Nami's birth.

 

Genzo said that Bellemere was sent to deal with pirates causing trouble. It would be epic if it turned out it was Shanks and Blackbeard.

we haven't seen sanji in about a year now, and i think that's a damn travesty. sanji has been an embarrassment so far since the time skip. get this boring arc over so you can redeem him, oda.
