The difference I see is, we can all assume Naruto will eventually defeat Obito with only a bit of help. He could probably even take on Obito alone for a little while and not get severely hurt or crippled.

When I try to imagine Sakura in the same position.... I feel as though Kishi hasn't given her enough power for us to really think she's capable of being a real power house compared to Naruto or Kakashi. Not everyone needs to be a powerhouse, but there are plenty of characters who are not and who shouldn't be, why not make sure the heroine can hold her own in battle too? Why is Sakura even on Hinata's level when Naruto is 10 levels above? He's 10 levels above just about everyone, I know, so is Sasuke... but why isn't Sakura, the 3rd team 7 member and major character?

No other female fits into the heroine role (although of course, Hinata has definitely taken a heroine scene of late), but Kishi just hasn't developed Sakura, the heroine, enough.

Yeah, but you're making it sound like Sakura is weak because she wont be able to land a hit on Obito which, while true, could apply to everyone. Even Naruto couldn't land a hit on him without Kakashi's help. Just making it clear that we are on the same page on this one cause lately everyone wants to blame Sakura or Hinata or anyone calling them weak because they cant do something that no one or very few can actually do successfully.

True, but outside us no one acknowledges this and unfortunately neither Sakura nor Shikamaru have done any real good strategy against Obito. The ability is there, but Kishi won't do it. The way I forsee it, we are going to face another storm if Hinata manages to land a punch on Obito. Unlikely you might say, but at this point I am half expecting her to do things OoC now. One situation I forsee happening is that, with the help of Naruto, Hinata will at least land a hit on Obito. Whether this will cause damage I don't know, but she will. That's where people will say "Wow, Hinata did something even Sakura could not. She is the real heroine." This is where they are going to disregard that she is using Naruto as a chakra-battery jump, that this wasn't something she came up herself, and that she is a lot more stronger than Sakura.

So, again Sakura is going to get underplayed. Hinata will get this moment to shine again and people will look down at Sakura.

I am going to fear the next chapter for this reason because it's just going to seem so...outrageous.

With that being said, there are some who ignore the great things some characters have done in the past. Sakura punched out a Zetsu that not even Hyuga could detect? Pssh, the rest of the Konoha 11 have been doing that. She took out Sasori? Nah, Chiyo helped her and did the most work. Shikamaru took out Hidan? Big deal, he hasn't done anything now. I am sad to say that past successes do not matter to some, but their failures remain constant. Except for Hinata apparently, cause she did it out of a sense of nobility so we can't fault her.

I'm probably one of the only ones that wants Shikaku's plan to fail, as much as I like the thought of the older generation doing one last thing for the new generation, I'd rather it be a plan thought up mainly by Shikamaru with the help of Naruto something to show that they have surpassed the older generation and succeeded where they couldn't.

Since I see it brought up a lot regarding what the "I'm never letting go of your hand" means I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents, I think its meant to be Naruto not Hinata saying it, but with the lack of any other romantic expressions in the chapter (from Naruto) I don't think its fully romantic (it could be later but not now not until we get confirmation from Naruto's point of view), I believe its more like a promise to himself "I'm not going to let another friend die", Naruto just saw Neji die but Hinata strengthened his resolve, he doesn't want to lose that connection.

As for more Hinata focus I think there will be a few more chapters left but it will end soon (I hope), there are stretches where Naruto isn't even the main character or focus, Sasuke has been it at least 3 times, Shikamaru was the main character for an arc, so has Jiraiya, Team 10 (especially Chouji) got a huge amount of focus in the war. Hinata will step out of the limelight with her character and challenges resolved probably as Shikaku's plan is put into action and someone else will get the focus, probably Shikamaru again, possibly Team Guy after Neji's death (I refuse to believe Kishi will only use Neji's death to develop Hinata), Sakura will probably just heal I don't think she will get focus until the reunion and resolution of Team 7.

I've started to wonder if Sakura is the Krillin of Naruto, they are always there for the main character and their bond is one of the strongest in the series, they are regarded as one of the strongest (normal) heroes but are outmatched entirely by the presence of powerhouses as the series progresses which severely limits the action they get to participate in.

Pre 614 sure I could have seen that happening. Post 614 no I can't see Kishi killing off both Neji and Hinata, one of them would have to be left to lead the Hyuga unless Hanabi was suddenly supposed to become the main Hyuga but I can't even remember the last time she was in the series.

I'm thinking of this because Hinata got to be the first, and Sakura will of course be the last to get development. The list seems to be loosely based on teams though, and I might just be overthinking things.

But even if Sakura does become the last, Kishi doesn't need to ignore her like that. It's like he's leaving her in the darkness 23/7.

Hinata always wanted to be acknowledge by Naruto and Naruto always wanted to be acknowledge by others (Village).
She also say that Naruto and Hinata will deepens their bond, that way Hinata can finally see Naruto has a person.
The views she made on her post are one of the best views I've read regarding this chapter.
In the end she believes that Kishi would not focus on Sakura feelings for Naruto and the development they have to toss it aside.

No disrespect, to you, but I think you should fully understand the users post before you judge her that way.

I've happy and a lot more confident, but like I mention before after Sakura feelings for Sasuke are resolve is the only way I've sure that NS will be the end pairing.

And what a bout Naruto's side, and her development, the end of her development is about her does not depending on Naruto's anymore, and Sakura's development is about understanding him.

This gonna be long, so enjoy the ride.
I'll try to be clear as possible, i crossed with this comment while i was lurking between 2ch and brchan.

About the chapters.
Foreshadowing.

Hinata's development, since part 1 she was touched by Naruto's ninja way, this is the main reason why she was the only one who could bring Naruto back to his senses, maybe some argue that it was Sakura's job but Sakura's ninja way is to protect Naruto and bring back Sasuke but since the promise is broken her NW is just about protecting Naruto and supporting him, this was clear so many times.
Hinata was the only one because she was completely changed by Naruto's ninja way, while naruto was shocked by Neji's death she remind Naruto about his Ninja way, the rest was up to Kyuubi, he grab Hinata's hand and thank her for supporting him.

Hinata development is done because after it she shows that she does need any more "confidence boost" from Naruto and neither consolation, she became a mature woman, but still Naruto didnt show any hint of romantic feelings towards her.
So with this i dont expect Naruto with pep talks to her and neither consolation from him.
But still she does not know about Naruto's burden and do not understand him completely, his suffering, responsabilites etc...


Now when it comes to Sakura what is determinant for me to think that SS is impossible, unless kishi does a complete 180 and start writing fanfic, is the fact that Sakura's development is entirely connected to "understand Naruto" since part 2, she understood Naruto's pain of becoming a Jinchuuriki (which Hinata does not know of and never will), on Sasuke's rescue arc she reming that even if Sasuke is away she was there for Naruto, and he dont need to be sad because they would try again and would become stronger next time, moving forward.

Later Naruto loses Jiraya his teacher but Sakura could not consolate him because she didnt lose anyone, so it was for Shikamaru who lose Asuma his teacher, now let's jump to Pain's Arc.

On Pain's arc Naruto understood what's revenge but what about Sakura? here was another chance for a key development for SS if it should be canon, Tsunade should had died in front of Sakura, she should be there, Tsunade dying would make Sakura think about revenge and start to understand Sasuke but no, this didnt happened at all.

On confession's arc, here's a key part, when Sai told Sakura that Naruto really loves her, that flashbacks were important it made her understand Naruto, Understand that she was not doing that for just Sasuke, but because he loved her, the same thing she tried to bring Sasuke's back, all the things she did, for Sasuke and didnt received any return, it happened the same with Naruto, she thought she was a bad person for not returning Naruto's feelings, and the fact that she loved Sasuke.

Now the foreshadowing parts.
When Sakura said "Naruto, this time we gonna be together.... we all gonna fight together this time" the "..." has the same significance as "Naruto is close but still ... Sasuke", or "Sakura you really...." it can be a hint or not but they key things is.

Tsunade, her death is inevitable she will join with Dan or whatever, but the key thing is she will know what is losing a teacher, she will understand Naruto more and more, when she fully understand him she will love Naruto.
I cant see she loving Sasuke after all this, she never had any development towards revengefull feelings.

NH, SS fans cant deny it, her development is going to lead Naruto not Sasuke.

Hello all I am a long time "anonymous guest" who is quite unhappy with the newest chapter. I have to be honest the whole thing stings a bit until you take a step back and review everything up to now.

When everyone arrived on the battlefield Sakura instinctively knows what to do to aid Naruto. This whole time she has been standing next to him through battles, but her personal goal was to stand in front of him so he could "see her back". Everything she's done up to now, her training and her lies, have been to help/protect Naruto in his effort to return Sasuke. While I think Sasuke is what she wanted at first, her priorities have shifted with maturity or so I hope. As someone previously mentioned, Chiyo commented to Sakura during her best moment in the manga telling her not to sacrifice her life unless it was for her precious person. I hope she does just that for Naruto .... I have a theory on that I posted in another thread....

Now Hinata's whole goal is to stand beside him and get to the point where Naruto notices her existence and sacrifice because he certainly paid her no mind following the Pein ordeal. IMO holding his hand is garnering acknowledgment, which could potentially lead to romantic feelings don't get me wrong.... But I think the realization here is that Naruto is oblivious to the fact he doesn't have to shoulder burdens on his own and now he sees everyone is there with him fighting together. There are others surrounding him that, like his parents, are willing to sacrifice for his well being. This scene wouldn't have made me so angry if not for Hinata's inner monologue regarding Naruto's big strong hands.....your a fan girl .....

I,like most readers, hated Sakura's fangirling ways. Only when she put on her big girl panties and started fighting for herself did I gain real interest in her character. Hinata just lost her cousin and protector and she is fangirling... Stand up lead your clan for Neji's memory and fight! This is where her character is at fail currently .....

Hinata may be by his side ......but Sakura IMO is still in front! Let's wait and have faith in Kishimoto!

I think this too, you have some very good points and I too have considered something similar to this statement but also gave me some new ideas and thoughts on what this moment actually means. I for one don't believe it can be classed as canon, not yet anyway. I still think it's too early to say yet. This moment lacked a romantic atmosphere and seemed rushed, forced and that Kishimoto was trying to please all of his fans.

We can't just go on this moment alone because it's mostly development for Hinata's character not only NaruHina. And I do believe that Kishimoto is trying to get us thinking about chapter 573 for what ALL the rookies had promised Naruto. But I could be wrong.

The manga hasn't finished yet and we shouldn't jump to any conclusions of NaruHina being canon, when Naruto NEVER said he loved Hinata. Therefore NOT canon.

Yesterday, I reread ch.573 to see how the characters are presented when they were going for back up, and I noticed the same thing.

Hinata was the first one who we saw what she has in her mind, then the others came like you said chronologically. It may be that it's not a coincidence and maybe we'll see development and some role from them, though I wouldn't count like all of them will get this. We need to see the upcoming chapters to confirm this cause there's Shikaku's plan.
But for sure, Shikamaru and Ino with the help of Choji will get some screen time then most likely, Lee and Tenten for Neji's death and giving help. As for Kiba, Shino Sai and Tenten, they'll give help for sure but not much as the others. Sakura will be the last to show a development, a huge role, or whatever but, still, she will most likely just be fighting and healing and helping like the others, but we can't say that Kishi won't have something for her to play in this war which he could very well be.

We'll see in the next two chapters about this.

Bolded, it will happen for sure. Everyone should expect this cause Naruto didn't give her chakra boost for nothing. She'll be fighting in the upcoming chapters with Naruto, and most probably till the end of the war.

Apparently, every rookie will get development is this war. I can't say too much of what I think of this chronological speech thing(I'm neutral), but it wouldn't be too out of Kishi's writing style. It wouldn't surprise me at all

Edit^Yeah, I was expecting to see Gai thinking he failed to protect his student. I mean, c'mon, he doesn't only care about Lee. (or does he ). I was expecting to see Lee losing his rival, and a sad, girly face on Ten ten.

Anyways this is why I have a little hope.

This isn't the first time we've felt like this, has it? Remember Hinata's confession? Where everyone was saying that Naruto will be with Hinata since she confessed and risked her life for him when no one else did? Remember what happened next? Sakura hugged Naruto. Then came Road To Ninja where Kishi made it look like it was a major NaruHina and SasuSaku movie with advertising it as such. Remember how we all felt betrayed on thought that Kishi really supported NaruHina and SasuSaku? Remember what happened next? Movie came out and it was a NaruSaku movie.

Kishi has a habit of trolling us and the NH/SS fans. He gets our hopes down and gives NH/SS fans hope then BAM! NaruSaku goodness. I cannot tell the future but with this chapter, the same thing can happen. We get our hopes down and NH/SS fans celebrate and then BAM! we get NaruSaku. Only time will tell.

Or I could be wrong and we're all screwed. xD

Anyways i completely agree with you kishi wont throw 10+ years of development for our beloved pair, this just marks the end of hinata, and the beginning of something more!
