So true. Vick had 4 interceptions and Stafford had 3, in the first half XD.

I was double mad, Stafford is on my fantasy team.

The Eagles offense was in such disarray and the replacement officials calling holding on half the plays didn't help. The only positive is that they won.

Biggest surprise is that the Saints and Packers are both 0-1. Great start for RG3 but man does that Saints defense suck. It could be that kind of year down in New Orleans if all the bounty drama has taken as much of a toll as expected.

Anybody else feel as qualified as the replacement refs to call football games?

I'm not sure after that one D8 Dude's called an INT a game-winning TD, but they couldn't have picked a worse crew for a Monday night game though, they were here in Week 2 for the Skins-Rams game. It was baaaaaaaaad.

But pretty sure Jwolf0 is okay with them at the moment. kruemelmonsteryn0.gif

Not really. I watched that game (*yawn, I'm tired*) and after my initial 'YAUS!' I was in disbelief over that call. I can't feel happy over that win. 24 Penalties called, and then that ending. Yeesh.

I'll definitely take it though.

EDUT: You know what? This is the definition of possession according to the NFL:
QUOTE
Possession: When a player controls the ball throughout the act of clearly touching both feet, or any other part of his body other than his hand(s), to the ground inbounds.
Emphasis mine.

There is no such thing as "degrees of possession." No players had the ball, both players had the ball, or only one. With a simultaneous catch "the ball belongs to the passers," according to the rulebook. You can't say one person had more of the catch than the other, that isn't in the rules. And with this screenshot taken right before the Packer defender rolled over:

Screw it. That was a good call. I still don't feel as great as I should about this win because the game was called so sloppily by the refs. They lucksacked into the right call - a call that looks wrong.

I'm just glad that the extra timeouts didn't make a difference in the Vikes/49ers game.

The game didn't really matter to me but I just found the whole situation hilarious. The thing about the possession is that the rulebook says "If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control", so I thought it was a clear interception. Not to mention there was offensive pass interference. I miss the old refs shamefulcry0js.gif

Not to mention the offensive pass interference on Tate. If that's a good penalty it doesn't matter which one caught it.

Like Gruden said, they hardly call OPI on an end of game hail mary pass. That said, it was pretty blatant, he shoved the guy in front of him no question. And the simultaneous catch rule is only in affect when both players catch the ball at the same time, Jennings definitely caught it first and was on his way down, Tate latched on and ripped it from him at the bottom of the pile. Not an easy decision, but replay provided all the evidence you would think they need, but these are refs who were fired by the LINGERIE Football League were speaking of, so we are obviously dealing with incompetence on their part. I don't care for either team, in fact, I would have been very glad had Seattle won clearly. Don't like Rodgers, fun to see him lose. But that call was the icing on the cake concerning 3 weeks of terribly refereed football. I don't blame the Seahawks or the fans for defending it, they played the game, Tate did what he had to do and he got away with it. Hes payed to help his team win. Had that been Greg Jennings on the other side of the field, the same reactions would have occurred with the different teams. It sucks for the packers who are off to a bad start at 1-2 and for any football fan that wants to enjoy the games with as least controversy as possible.

Terribly officiated game all around. Tate's OPI wasn't called, the PI called on Kam Chancellor on a clean breakup that extended the Packers' only TD drive, and a host of calls/non-calls. 24 penalties, and they weren't even the right 24.

Endzone angle of the play.

EDIT: If there was any ripping, it was Jennings doing it.

The simultaneous catch item is worded oddly because it mentions control when the definition of a catch lists control in the air as only the first part of a catch/interception. You also have to hit the ground in control, and Tate actually hit the ground before Jennings did while both had the ball.

So next year, all the teams are going with read option, right? Last year, it was mainly a Tebow thing, and quite a few people were like... it's college-y and gimmick-y. After this year, I bet every single team next year will make it a part of their playbook, or wish they could make it a part of their playbook. The only real way to defend it is either a) if the people in the backfield suck or b) you have quality+quick defenders who are just assigned to spy each player present in the read-option setup. Yikes. Anyway, I think the Packers need a new d-coach. I've never been a fan of the bend but not break defense.

Awesome game between Denver and Baltimore. I glad I didn't miss that one. Peyton's killed them, but that that secondary getting burned was why they lost. You'd have thought Toast came out of retirement with how Denver got burned at the end of each half.

Hey Ed, could be worst. You could be a Lions fan or a fan of ANY team in Cleveland. Nobody has it worse than the City of Cleveland.

Patriots once again looking dangerous Sunday night. I was really impressed with the 9ers on Saturday.

I really am not sure who will win the AFC champ game, Brady is always gonna be a threat offensively but I feel that the Ravens Defense is going to rally for Lewis. Going to be another classic probably.
