So tell me how how many Shojo manga's are in the top ten selling mangas Volumes last year? Kimi no Todoke comes in at number 11, and for the first half of this year the same manga dropped to number 22. Shojo might be popular but compared to Shounen Manga, Shojo still has a way to go. I might be wrong about the female fanbase for Naruto prefering Shounen over Shojo, though I don't think that far off my guess...but female members in the forum can answer than statement better than me.

 

However it is true that there are more females prefer reading Shounen Manga over Shojo, we've seen WSJ and other manga's changing their content to cater for this market, recently. You just have to look at Anime line-up recently, there has been an increase in animes aimed at Bi-Shounen fans that I've ever seen.

 

Well, Shonen is a big draw for some women because more boys=slash potential. Or rather, 'Shonen-ai"
