I got a bad feeling about this arc. It looks like this is going to be a reunion arc for both Gin and Kagura, but the main drive is the Yato. The ending indicates that things are about to get worse and we don't know how far Gin and Kagura are at.

Right now, it's more exciting since we get to see the Joui 4 reunion more so than Gin and Kagura reuniting because we have been anticipating this arc plus it's a yato arc too!! Mutsu is there so ALL the known yato are there! Bad things might happen but who knowns since right now its more relaxing compare to other arcs XD We may finally get the flashback of what happened between Kamui and Umibozu along some of the Joui flashback

That's what I meant. Their reunion as in their own reunion. Kagura is going to have a family reunion as Gin is going to have Joui 4 reunion. That's why this is getting good. But knowing Sorachi, things are going to be really bad before it gets good in a depressing way. Seriously, last two arcs end on a sad note despite they win or succeed. I'm hoping this arc is more peaceful in the end because I don't think we have a bittersweet ending in a long time. Actually, I think that's the case for serious arcs in general.

Sorachi knows how to make us do predictions but as he does it, its usually in an unexpected way, so for now...I'll say I don't know but it might be light hearted compare to the other arcs, the Yato side however definitely feels darker compare to the other recent arcs

That's the thing about Sorachi. He can make look like a predictable route, but the end/journey is something that you wouldn't think it would go through since it is like being realistic on the sense of what should happen, rather than being prevented by the Shounen law of today. I mean today feels like too much light-hearted in terms of an event, or at least how WSJ are as of now. This one feels like something out of Ruroni Kenshin era, where things are hardcore but still keep it Shounen with its light-hearted.

As for making it shocking and surprise twist, he doesn't do it because it will throw them off guard and act edgy. He does it because it will throw them off guard and leave them feeling excited. The last two arcs had me adrenaline rush with its war segments. The last arc was just a great example of how war should be like in Shounen. When they saw Kondo, I was shaking myself and Gin yells at them what they said earlier, I was lost with words. It was epic as it can get. Sorachi knows how to leave it a great impression and making you feel engaged with these characters.

Actually, now that you've caught up! As a whole what do you think of Gintama and how the story and characters are handle? What did you feel about the war compare to Naruto and Bleach from the shogun arc? How you felt the ninjas were handle? How exactly did you feel about the last two arcs? Were you expecting it to be this good? How would you rate Sorachi as a mangaka? Also doesn't it feel more Seinen than Shonen? ANSWER ALL XD

Oh man, the episode had me in tears. That "surprised character" got me dying. Funny how that kick to "Sadaharu" has some fluid detailed animation. Even the water was detailed. By the way, two notes:

-They skipped one scene but it's minor. It's where Otae asked each of them if Shinpachi and Kondo were ok with it and they responded with yes with something else, though the funny one was with "Gin" response to Otae. But it's nothing major. The stuff we got was just spot on.

- If you watch the Crunchyroll translation (or kissanime), there's one change in the translation and it's interesting. Ok, in the original form, Kagura said "Give Gin-chan's tama back!" The joke is tama can mean two things: soul or testicle. Since the arc is about souls, the joke is obvious. That said the translation had her saying gonads, only to be corrected by saying, "Ego." If that's the case, why not just do that change for the rest of the series, when dubbing." You already change the joke, so what are you being held back? Whatever, USA is just lazy.
