Hmm, I'll try to ask a friend about the translation from Jap to English in terms of grammar and all... I'd love to help in English but given my lack of Jap. knowledge, I'd better stay off, lol!
Can someone recap all the jap text for me in a post? I got really lost around here, haha. Thx!

Well, she's been doing this for years now, has lived in japan as well, even now back home, she was hired bc of her translation skills, she has many ties with Japan and people from there and when I also had a debate over what Kishi supposedly say in that interview that Hinata would make a better heroine than Sakura, she helped a lot, including the grammar part.
the same for me, with english grammare i mean...
Well, haha, I could be helping with the grammar but given I lack the Jap. part, I am afraid to not make an error so I'd better ask this friend, she knows both very well anwyay, lol!

Okay, here is her translation for the moment, I am now gonna explain her why the mystery and all, but for the moment, the translation:
"I just turned 17 years old today, so I still don't know much about alcohol or women! But my mum told me to find a woman that's like her... and that is... err... Anyway! I hope I'll manage to do everything my mum told me to! [Lit. "The things my mother told me, please go well!"] I did (am doing?) my best!"

interesting... I guess that she just took a liberal translation here...

She said the verb is past continuous... as in, actions from the past that Naruto still takes in the present/will take type of thing. Hope I was clear. Atm, I am looking for Viz page to show it to her.

past continuous shoud be "I have been pretty doing hard!!" So MS is the right one, as I have already told earlier... But still the MP makes sense, like I did the same with my translation..

She put the liberal translation there because the literal one is "The things mum told me, please go well!" so that's ... you know, weird wording and all in English, haha!

mmh...why? There's a ね after the verb so it's "Not all mom told me is turning well but.. it sounds too liberal to me... but again it's nice to confront with other experts...

You think viz would have found out something is wrong when 504 occurred then 631 occurred?
Anyways yeah its still the way we saw it, Naruto has essentially said to Minato, he had done almost everything Kushina told him but for those that are still undone he is said its been hard/he hasn't been able to do it all yet, but despite this, he is trying his best/hardest to fulfill them. In short though he has trouble around some stuff like the girl like kushina, he is still intent on fulfilling that and at this point the wider audience knows by now that this is Sakura is the girl like Kushina, whether Naruto knows it or not, he still loves Sakura and for other reasons cannot just tell her due to the promise but is still intent on trying to win her over.
Fans will try to make it so either:
A. The characters know everything despite this not being the case (many of us knew the gedo mazo was the husk of the ten tails before it was revealed during the war when Obito used it to steal the tools containing the gold and silver brothers, the characters didn't all know save for the bad guys).
B. Inject realism into it and try to make it so because Minato only saw Sakura that this doesn't matter because of how short it was despite how she was the only one he met.
Otherwise yeah you have those fans saying its still ambiguous, doesn't matter, or means hinata and yet none of these even make sense at this point.
My point is, its how we thought it was, still referring to sakura, you don't need to take the exact words to heart from even the raw to figure this out. You know that foreshadow has been around long before this recent 3rd mention and its been showing sakura highly in both of the first 2, it makes sense why in the 3rd one naruto cannot say it yet because well, its been hard for him in that regard for the promise, but he is still trying.
Because its also another case with the arguments the NH fans put out, that if its really on Hinata, Naruto already won her over from the start, everything he did just made her go eye sparkles and go on a kuning overload till it got on everyones nerves. He has no trouble with HInata, he knows HInata loves him, hell want your proof? For that short period around 560, when naruto meets hinata in the war, he remembered her actions at pain, before he went 6 tails, he remembers this so why would he have trouble for finding that girl despite this? See? He knows Hinata loves him yet he himself still says he has trouble with this find a girl stuff like a couple other things as achieving his dream. So there you go, it logically couldnt even be Hinata he would be referring too if he even knows she loves him. He still loves Sakura but to him, wheather that girl like kushina is known or not, its widlely been inferred and given clues to us the audience and by now, most people would know this, the ones trying to cry foul with it are just NH and SS fans fearful that NS could come because its been leaning upon and only hinting Sakura to this point and really the whole deal ironically can be summed up back at 504, how the hell can anyone think Hinata is like Kushina when the whole majority of just that background was just spot on, similar event for similar event in early interaction with kushina to minato just like sakura to naruto? The attitudes, the freaking hair color family is close too, but NH fans use long hair as their reason or being kidnapped? The similar drawn scenes, unless kishi is lazy don't know why he did that?
To me, this foreshadow is a death omen to NH and SS, they are just terrified of what it could be leading too, 631 is the only case and will be the only case forever more of a direct girl to kushina comparison and only sakura was there for it, unless naruto himself or unlikely as it is, kurama does some comparison, its still and only still at this point, in all 3 hints, Sakura.
Fans can say 645 had naruto to kushina, well this didn't change the fact Sakura is still the only girl compared to kushina so far right? Even that backstory has not changed, its like seriously, were NH fans scared of this foreshadow so soon that they had to decieve themselves into thinking Kushina was like Hinata or somehow the reverse was true with Hinata and Minato? Maybe if kushina had a shy personality at first, yeah that would make sense, but as it is right now, hell freaking no. Kushina is like Sakura in so many ways, no amount of heaving bullcrap NH fans spit out will change this.
Plain and simple, this 3rd instance to minato leaving was what we thought it was and NH and SS fans are just going crazy because their limited and infrequent pairings have so little, they need to act like rabid animals and get whatever they can to try and use. Only NS got these hints helping to say what could come, aside from the development and by this degree, it has been an absolute nightmare upon the NH and SS fandoms, its burned them before with 631, it will burn them again. They may not like it, but this is how it is. Sakura is the girl like Kushina, anyone trying to argue otherwise is just desperate or ticked off at kishi, or just plain stupid at this point.

Ok, so... i'm gonna ask you guys a little help here so I can tell her exactly what our "problem" is...
What do you consider from the raw text to be harder to interpret or idk.. sketchy?! So I can confront it to her and be able to get an answer out of her in regards to why she translated like that and all.

I am just wondering why she has translated this 母ちゃんの言った事、全部うまくいってねーけど! in this way "I hope I'll manage to do everything my mum told me to!".
If we take that sentence word by word it can be "Not all the mom told me is going well!" or "All the mom told me isn't going well!"
Just i don't see the "I hope i will manage [...]". I am not saying that it's wrong, just is pretty liberal. that's all xD
regarding the viz version, well... she is right xD it's crap

We are still in discussions.
So she said that
そこそこガンバってたんだ!! this is the phrase in regards to Viz's past tense tendency. If it would have been past tense, it should've been ガンバった and that past continuous is ガンバっていた and that its short form would be ガンバってた.
Brb! LOL! Anyway, VIZ's translation is once again, bullsh**! She said the same thing when she saw 685 translation... And she's not even into Naruto, lol.
Anyway, I'll ask about that part of her translation, maybe she can explain why she translated it that way :)
mmh...why? There's a ね after the verb so it's "Not all mom told me is turning well but.. it sounds too liberal to me... but again it's nice to confront with other experts...
In regards to the ね, she said it's "ne" and it doesn't mean no, that it's translated as... "you know"
