Hinata has been popular since her confession in 2009. Since then I knew what it would mean for an ending pairing. And Kishi knew as well, That's why she suddenly got so many panel time out of the blue thereafter while all the others rookies remained irrelevant. It meant Kishi could resolve the whole pairing debacle with a neatly tied bow at the end.
 
I had no doubt in my mind she would be a primary character in the final movie and I don't know why people tried to fool themselves into thinking otherwise.
 
More so than annoyed at Hinata, I've been extremely annoyed at Sakura. I've been disappointed in a lot in this manga, but Kishi's handling of Sakura is by far the worst of it.

She's always been popular, though imo it's much more justified in part one than in part two.. She's awful in Shippuuden, wow.

I could see Hinata making a "I can be more like Sakura" rationalization in order to try winning over Naruto's affections but with little success if Kishi plans to go down that road. Though we could just see Naruto rejecting Hinata while she accepts the rejection and moves on with her life.

Lmao, what if that actually happens. Hinata will dress up like Sakura and once in a while try to be more assertive/loud/tsundere-ish like her, but failing (her voice could crack when she tries to speak up, she stutters, etc.. would serve well as comic relief), maybe try to be a little more forward in her affection for Naruto. And somehow (despite his obliviousness, or maybe now that he's a little older he'll be less oblivious) Naruto will notice and that's when he decides to have a talk with her -- the CD cover. He'll lead her into a private place to discuss this matter (explaining their solemn faces). He'll say, "I'm sorry, but I don't like you that way." Hinata will be disappointed, maybe thinking how her plan didn't work after all, and Naruto will add, "but, the real you is much better than who you are now! Don't try to be anyone but yourself 'ttebayo!" And Hinata will cheer up and be herself again.

Lol, just realised that last part is like Naruto's speech to Obito...

Lol even the Manga ending wasn't that conclusive. Its depressing because School Rumble was fantastic, and yet Jin gave into his trollish desires because he wanted to torture his fans. Biggest letdown of the century.

 

 

Oh I remember School Rumble...loved every minute of it. So random.

 

But if Kishi is to take a non open ending, I wish he would do it like Hiromu Arakawa did with Fullmetal Alchemist. An ending with just a glimmer of romance and a picture frame showing a better future for our protagonists.

Guys you know what they say, after every storm theres always a rainbow cheesy but I don't care thats what I think will happen. Since the song is about friendship I think Naruto and Hinata will be visiting Neji's grave as friends.
