The ash and lillie bond (from what I've seen) feels more like a sibling bond, but that's just me.
Actually no I haven't seen that one, and wow i just finished watching it. That was so beautiful!
They are 8 parts and the final is the wedding.

Mmm Have you watched the last Episode of Sun and Moon? You MAY FEEL different then. But if not that's fine.\ I'm no "shipping soldier" lol. Just saying thatough the way you see Lillie interact with Ash is Different from how she acts around their social group in general or Even Gladion, however subtle

I think the last episode of Pokemon I saw was Sun and Moon episode 8 so I've been extremely behind truth be told, but with how I've been hearing about from my best friends to watch it through it all. I'll start watching it again here pretty shortly.
I will keep that in mind and keep an eye on how Ash and Lilie's interactions go.

So anyone here been keeping up with the Pokemon anime?
I watched a bit of journeys in the beginning, but got caught up with life. One of my friends has been telling me that things have been getting really good lately.

I had to jump back to the Pokemon bandwagon with Journeys. I didn't care for Sun and Moon arc, because of the artwork, except for bringing back Misty and Brock after how many years! I had managed to watch the entire XYZ saga and that was the peak of the franchise.
Journeys is actually better as it change the dynamics of the anime franchise. Ash primarily focusing on battling in the World Coronation (deleting the badges concept which went away in Sun and Moon) and Goh wants to capture every Pokemon available and ultimately want to capturing Mew. He then joined Project Mew, with Ash tagging along.
There are pros and cons of this saga:
+ Many of the known characters (Dawn, Iris, Gary, and some upcoming spoilers etc.) came back frequently which is a great decision.
+ Ash and Goh quickly go to any region each episode which is a blessing, instead of staying in one.
+ Team Rocket, mostly, having random Pokemon each time during their schemes.
+ Immediate capturing
- While it may be a pro, but some of Ash's recent Pokemon should had been in his roster ages ago: Gengar, Lucario and Dragonite. Not mention he hadn't capture anything recently.
- Chloe sometimes joining in the boys' adventure when she should had been permanent to keep the three friends' dynamic. Plus it can help the development of her Eevee as it comes and goes.
- Certain characters should had lesser screen time (looking at Korrina, she keeps popping back more than Dawn!).
-The whole capturing process as I put it as a pro, but as a con, it ignores the original "battle first, then capture" except on certain cases. Yeah, I get that this happened because of the Pokemon GO! phase which looks like it becoming a standard now in recent games.
- Also, Goh managed to get rare and legendary Pokemon instead of Ash! That doesn't set well with me.

The art style for Pokemon Sun and Moon is a make or break deal for a lot of people. I know for me it was definitely hard to watch through at first and even now when I try to watch it I find things kind of jarring to sit through. From the perspective of the art style anyway, but if it was kept similarly to the say XY/XYZ style I think a lot of people would've been more easy about it.
Other than that, I think the story of Pokemon Sun and Moon was pretty decent from what I saw when it first debuted. A few of my friends have told me that it gets a lot better in the later parts of the story.
As for Pokemon Journeys, I'm still kind of in the beginning of the story for that one, but I am honestly really excited to see the journey (no pun intended lol) of where it leads to where things currently are. I'm definitely gonna keep the pros and cons in mind once I get around to marathoning the series again from the beginning. Well after I finish going through my marathon experience of reliving One Piece and to be completely up to date with the anime.... I stopped around Punk Hazard for the anime side of things so it's definitely going to be sometime!

Well, Ash was the first main character in the anime to get a Mythical Pokémon with Meltan/Melmetal in Sun & Moon as well as an Ultra Beast with Poipole/Naganadel. :)
Hmm I did hear about that, actually makes me very curious to see how that all goes in the series.

I was gonna continue my marathon binge of Pokemon Journey after this weekend, but man I ended up getting spoiled on the outcome of the finals on twitter which..... Oh my guys you have no idea I'm crying right now because oh man 25 years in the making, and my boy Ash Ketchum finally did it!!
Now I'm 1795% committed in continuing my binging experience of Pokemon Journeys from where I left off! It just feels so surreal, but now he is without a doubt The World's Greatest Pokemon Master.
Stand tall cause you know I'm a winner
knock me down and I'll just get em again
You've met your match cause I'm no beginner
Pokemon
Pokemon
Gotta catch em all!

stopped watching Pokemon after Johto. I wanted AshXMisty. Hoping she would show back up but she didnt. If she ever does, Ill start back looking at it.
I could understand that!
I know Misty showed up from time to time in Sun and Moon. I forgot which episodes though, but I know she shows back up for a brief period.

Um, So, Apparently I hear that the anime will move on from Ash and Pikachu in the Scarlet and Violet series. If it's true, what are your thoughts?

Yeah, they will be retiring as main characters, though they shouldn't had kept Ash as 10 years old (which is stupid as certain characters like Gary and Brock were able to).
But I'm not sure the audience going to like/accept this as Ash and Pikachu been around since the beginning. If that was the case, they should had retired them back in Generation 3/Ruby and Sapphire and by that, they should had Ash won the championships at least, indicate he's a great Pokémon trainer/master.

Yeah I think It'd have nice if they followed the same formula as the manga. but I digress, changing Ash this late will be stepping on toes for sure. I personally don't mind though and seeing how Ash became world champion it makes sense
