I have a hard time thinking of SS as even a possibility. Not only does it utterly repulse me, but they literally have no development in Part 2. It would be the ass-pull to end all ass-pulls if it ends up being canon.

I agree with you but mostly because of Sakura's confession, SS still had a reason until before her confession to Naruto, she said that Naruto was at her side, encouraged her, makes her happy and makes her feel safe and again what's left for Sasuke if he did none of this to Sakura?
How can you be in love with someome that wasnt at your side, that didnt encouraged you, that does not makes your happy(she pointed it was the team 7 that makes her happy), and dont make her feel safe.
Her love for Sasuke is one of the bigges asspull on the series, at least Hinata has a reason to love Naruto which she even pointed on her own confession but Sakura even on her confession for Sasuke she didnt even pointed a reason to love him.
she only said "i would feel lonely without you" and i dont see her feeling lonely on the entire part 2 and even after her confession to Sasuke.

Q: With Juubi on the loose, many are wondering if it would be stronger with both the Hachibi and Kyuubi, is that so?
Kishi: The Juubi’s strength? Hmm, yes. It would indeed be stronger with the full Hachibi and Kyuubi. But you have to remember Naruto only has half of the Kyuubi. The other half is still in Minato. But yes, it would be even stronger. Because Naruto would die from losing the Kyuubi, I had to make up a way for the Juubi to come back and have some of Kyuubi’s strength without harming Naruto.
Q: Will the second half of Kyuubi’s chakra play a part in the future then?
K: Hmm… yes, that is possible now…
Q: So you don’t know yet, or don’t want to say?
K: It will play a part, yes. A very important part, but you must continue reading to find out what will happen! (Kishi speaks in an exciting tone)

K: Hashirama’s purpose in the story is to fulfill Sasuke’s wish. Remember, Madara now has his own and Hashirama’s power. He would be stronger than Hashirama now.
Q: What is next for Naruto?
K: The series or the character? If the series, look forward to the climax. The war is ending and very interesting things will happen. The Juubi will grow stronger too. Also a character a lot of fans have questions about will come back and play a big role. About Naruto the character, for him what is next is this big fight with the Juubi, Obito and Madara. Then there is Sasuke to deal with, and then…. The ending…. (Kishi looks down at the floor and takes a pause before continuing) I think many will be surprised at the end.
Q: Let’s change the subject. What do you think of the future of battle manga? WSJ is pushing it a bit lately, and now Naruto is included in an upcoming game.
K: The future of battle manga? It will always exist. Toriko is doing well and I’m excited to see Naruto battle heroes from other popular manga, especially Son Goku, I’m very excited about that. Toriyama was my big inspiration as a young mangaka.
Q: Lastly, anything you want to say?
K: Please continue to support Naruto. The end is close and I’m very excited to share it with you!

Fan1: I’m afraid Sasuke will turn good after speaking to the dead Hokages. Will Naruto and Sasuke still fight?

K: Tobi is very difficult to write… He is very smart, but at the same time very emotional. It was easier to write him with the mask as I didn’t have to draw his face, so I liked him most with the mask, ahah! Call me lazy. Maybe I should have kept it on longer, but you fans were very anxious for years for me to take it off, haha!!

Nearly everything you said about 615 was already covered by my previous post.
Pls also tell me whats the purpose of sakura in the manga if its something without love.
In part 1 all she did was fangirling over sasuke. In part 2 she starts to get over her feelings for sasuke and discovers new feelings for naruto.
The rest of the time all she thinks of is how her and naruto will be able to bring back sasuke and beeing depressed because of sasuke.

Her character is ment to bring romance drama into this story. She can have some fight inbetween, but her main purpose is romance. Her goal in this manga is to get over her old depressing feelings for sasuke and find real love with naruto in the end, nothing more.

I know you now will scream sexist again and say thats not ture, but you shouldnt make more out of her character then she is. Also this kind of storytelling, with the heroine beeing there for romance has nothing to do with sexism, its used in other mangas and a lot of movies too, so its not sexism, its a way to write a story with great romance in it.

Kishimoto already opened up several different paths at the beginning of Part II and I don't understand why he's regressed her this much.

1. She would be a medic-nin surpassing that of Tsunade
2. She would be a strong fighter equal to her boys
3. She had shown traits/shades of leadership qualities in Pain arc.
4. She's one of the smartest ninjas in the village. Had good judgement of things.

See?? all of the above shows she's more than pairing fodder. The fact that Kishimoto opened up such possibilities above and later ignored it shows a serious lack of care towards his own heroine. No, ignorance of her character would be a massive understatement.
