The manga is taking the NS path and it has more weight than one pic of Naruto and Hinata talking.

 

If you want to convince me, you need to come up with a pic of them kissing at least.

At least we know LuNa is the closest one to be canon though.It's less complicated than NS.

I could never be content with "closest to canon", unfortunately. If I go and invest time in discussing and placing my bet on it, I need some kind of resolution. And the chances are very slim (I do hope we will see Nami in a queen's tiara ot something in the end).  

But you are right. I could even argue that it is the most solid couple with how much straightforward confirmation we have got. It doesn't seem very explicit, but it stands out in comparison to any other relationship in One Piece. And you just constantly get more and more to add to your collection. I mean that you can't miss it, you don't have to worry about it developing and being there (unlike Naruto manga). It is just that you can't count on it being confirmed as canon, in loud voice. It is just like Oda - he gives us the best written, obvious couple, but never gives any confirmation. And he actually does it so smooth! The best teasing ever!

Even other websites get that it hints towards NH and i think thats not really hard to see. Just take the tweets from the movie page as example.

The thing is, don't you think there are too many hints? Since when are there that many hints towards what a movie would be about? The end-game couple, that is. The manga hasn't even ended yet. Since it's the LAST movie, they might as well give us a movie that are unexpected rather than one that is predictable, right?

 

Well, I can say I love you and it's not romantic. I can say I love a guy friend of mine and it's not romantic. The word, "love", does not have just one meaning. But I get what you're trying to say.

Just because they're together on a cover doesn't mean that they're canon, maybe the song's about Neji, and surely the most important persons to him are Hinata and Naruto.

Or maybe Pierrot is just throwing the most expected thing in the movie in our faces (Final pairing), even before the movie release. What's the point of watching it knowing how it will end? That's stupid, every person who writes a story/movie/manga or whatever knows that. You can make people imagine one thing in their minds, and that's when you're up to make a "twist" on what they expected. This is the basics of a story. Pierrot did the same with RtN, NH and SS were going to watch the movie expecting a major pwnage on NS, but BOOM, NS takes the mainscreen on the entire movie. The thing is, Kishi once told us to read underneath the underneath, Pierrot's just putting it in action.

Naruto love sakura as soon as her introduction back to chapter 3.
So kishi can't do what oda do. In order for kishi to do that, he need to make naruto doesn't love anyone, especially at the start of manga.

The K8, Kakashi, Sai and Sakura could shine by themselves without Naruto to be the center of everyone's attention.

Add a moderate bit of Sasuke (because I  him and his retardation, don't let Shika take the center stage and I would be delighted.

Actually ... I still don't belive that NH will be endgame. 

But still - this cover makes me kind of nervous. The song is about bonds and friendship - but why choose Hinata to protray it? She had about ... what ... 17 lines in total in the manga? Just why?

If the story would be consistent i would believe that too, but kishi showed time and times again to go against stuff that is shown to happen by leaving plot holes

Yeah,the manga is taking the NS path, but that doesnt mean that Kishi cant just asspull NH by saying they had development during the timeskip. Best proof tons of NH movie teases.

No, no. I meant "hints" of NH for the last movie, not hints of NS in the manga. But I have to agree on Kishi's bad writing though. On the romance part, that is. And a little of character development.

Remember SP hyped nh/ss the same way on the poster and trailer for RTN and it had zip all to do with the actually plotline. Naruto ran away from scary crazy deluded stalker Hinata- with Sakura, and Sasuke turned out to be a jerkish playboy user that Sakura rejected. RTN was all about narusaku's growth and about Naruto and Sakura's emotional bond with their parents.

 

That's probably the only scene in the whole movie where Naruto says anything to Hinata, and it's pretty obvious it isn't anything positive. And looks like Kishimoto didn't even bother to do a costume design sketch for Hinata, and just let SP come up with something. Looks like they reused Tsunade's tunic (without the jacket) along with Sakura's belt and shorts design for The Last

Anyways, I'll wait and see where all this goes before I make a final judgement.

 

I won't deny that I get where the people panicking are coming from, since I'm a bit nervous myself.

 

But I won't give up until a definitive moment is displayed between two characters that screams canon.

 

Which probably won't happen until the very end of the series or movie.
