The romance aspect might have been shot down, but why Hinata? She's not the only outspoken, committed bond that Naruto has inspired. Both Shikamaru and Gaara have been steadfast friends that stood by Naruto whenever he was emotionally shaken by a tragedy or when he was fatally wounded. Why can't it be one of them who Naruto is taking a misty stroll through the countryside with?

If we had Sakura on Hinata's place, I would be mildly happy, not regarding it as something big nor something bad (despite of sad faces). Sakura is the main heroine, whose development goes much further than her relationship with Naruto, so she would have a lot of non-romantic reasons to be there. Naruto and Sakura have always shared both happy and sad moments in their lives, this is part of their comradeship (and love), so them being in any kind of dynamic would seem so very natural (not like it does now with Hinata). Even if it is connected to them personally, it would be a good thing probably. Like that scene in RtN, when they talked near the fence, not seeing each other. It was a complicated moment for both of them and they had a very apparent conflict of interests (that made me even guess whether Naruto would chase Sakura with such persistence if he had a family), but the way this scene was shown it was incredibly pro- NS.  They were practically reading each other's minds, talking with their souls. They didn't need words any more to understand each other.

In Hinata's case her only shared emotional ground with Naruto is Neiji, which is why it is either rejection or mourning to me. I also think that mourning in this manga has been portrayed as a collective experience with people helping each other to move on. Actively, I mean. Especially when there are three years between the incident and this "mourning" scene. I would rather expect Naruto to have a sad smile on his face and maybe talk to Hinata about their shared experience with Neiji. So it doesn't seem like a "trip to the grave" kind of scene.

 

On the other hand, if Sakura were on Naruto's place and Naruto on Hinata's, I would be kinda worried for NS, because I've had enough of Naruto chasing after Sakura with her neglecting him for various reasons (who am I kidding - there is just one reason with hot haircut). I would wonder whether this is a forshadowing of Sakura's decision to pursue Sasuke till the end, which is a tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bit less ridiculous than Naruto giving up on her. This is also the reason why I think NH should be worried - chances of Naruto rejecting Hinata are too damn high.

People care about the last because it's shipping resolution. That is the only thing that matters in the last, because other plot stuff has already been done for 700 chapters.

 

If people were so definitely sure that Naruhina was going to happen, there would be no need to tell them ahead of time that it happens (since there's no mystery).

 

It's all a tease to get people conflicted so they will be more keen to find out what happens in the movie.

 

What happens in the movie? Who knows.

 

Naruto has his hands in his pockets looking away from Hinata, and neither of them are smiling. It's not definitive. It's bait. If it was definitive, then it ruins the whole draw of the movie, which is shipping resolution.

 

Why does Naruhina have more tease than narusaku? Because Narusaku is too kittening obvious. Also Hinata hasn't even been seen for like 75 chapters.

With chapters like 693 and the recent movie spoilers its not hard to figure that NH is gonna be endgame. We have 2 chapters of the manga left and still nothing major happend between Naruto and Sakura other then Sakura again confessing to Sasuke near the end of the manga. With all thats left to cover 2 chapters are just not enought for NS. 

 

And now with all this movie spoiers its clear what kind of route kishi is taking, Since he never developed NH and also has no time left to do it now, hes just again doing a timeskip so he can simply say, Naruto and Hinata had tons of development during this timeskip so its no asspull and totally legit if they endup together.

 

Well thats just the kitten writter kishi is, sad to say. He messed up his story but trys to sell it to the readers with an asspulled timeskip.

Same here......nah. I don't believe that Oda will ever give us more than just occasional hints. You can never feel complete and rewarded for shiping something in One Piece. This is not a bad thing though, this manga is about other kind of romance (better one, if you ask me). And it pains me to see how Nami is neglected because so many new characters need some screen time.

It's obvious that we have absolutely nothing to go by one way or the other. The only fact we know is the song is about friendships and bonds. So that tells us absolutely nothing romantic wise between NH.

Every single thing that has come out has been one fake after another. The NH fandom has been trolled about 4-5 times just today.
