I think Sakura's power up is most likely going to be something related to Tsunade's mitotic regeneration jutsu. It will allow her to get in close and deal heavy damage without taking any in turn and she'd be fine fighting alongside Naruto and Sasuke.

I feel sage mode or something more advanced would be more than a bit of an asspull to be honest. I think it's great that Sakura is getting a chance to shine and to show off her growth in strength but I don't want to see her become super powerful just for the sake that she's part of team 7. Naruto is where he's at because of his determination and support network and the fact that he had the kyuubi inside of him. Sasuke was born a genius and received his most powerful techniques as hand me downs and from implanting Itachi's eyes. For Sakura to just come out of nowhere and be on par with them would be a bit ridiculous in my opinion. I like the fact that she's more or less a normal girl but still has managed to get as far as she has. However I don't want to see her surpass almost everyone else right now just because her teammates are so powerful. Naruto and Sasuke are already special cases, do we really need a third? Being equal to Tsunade at this point should be more than enough.

I am not a Sakura detractor in any way, I just don't want to see her have such a huge jump in ability just for the heck of it. Besides she'd still be better than all of the other Konoha 11 and most jounin and I don't see how anyone could call someone with the abilities of Tsunade useless.

I'd actually like to contradict you here.
You know why it would be great? Because it would prove that old theme of Naruto's about the fact that you don't need to be from a great clan in order to be a great Shinobi.
This is like saying, you can't have a big company because you weren't born in a rich family nor had some reach relatives who could help you.
Hell, even if I am poor, I''ll work my way through it, study and make my own badass company.

Sakura getting sage mode would, indeed, be something of an asspull. Then again, after an entire 631 chapters of her not being given the tactical developments she should have, an asspull might be good for her. (and when did asspull become common vernacular on this forum? I've seen it used a lot on this thread, but I can't remember it being used in these threads even when Sasuke WAS asspulling things left and right)

Wouldn't it suck if her speech was only suggesting that she'll be back at 100% soon, and will be able to help by using the powers that she already possess? Because, "Soon I'll be able to use my real power", could be interpreted as Sakura being temporarily out of energy, but she will soon be able to use her fists of doom, (her "real power" outside of healing), once she gathers more chakra.

Does the RAW have a more definitive phrasing that suggests she has an entirely new power? I just want to make sure so that everything is clear.

Awesome post as always. It's a shame thou that you are trying to address the haters yet I think only the ones who agree with you or level headed individuals praise your work.

Anyway what intrigued me was the fact that you discussed about 3 moments ( forest of death, Sasori fight, and now)

Beginning -> Middle -> End.

And we have the first instance where Sakura protects the boys [which is actually the middle, but hope you’ll get the idea], meaning Team 7 but not all of them due to Naruto and Sasuke being unconscious, we have the battle with Sasori [which in the timeline of events would be a beginning] where Team 7 existed, but not as a whole, all having what seemed to be individual development, yet, it was somehow linked and now, we have the end where Team 7 is reunited, all of them, together, having them being all on equal foot, as underlined by Kishimoto when he had Sakura state that now she can compete with her two teammates.

I get your point about deciding to protect the boys, yet it was the beginning of this particular resolve. Also I said before her motivation was also to be considered an equal in team 7.

Somehow I think the team 7 reunion during the Kage summit has a place here even thou it felt like she regressed instead of develop further.

Maybe more will be revealed regarding the reunion but somehow that reunion can parallel Naruto's weakness when they reunited with Sasuke in Orochimaru's hideout. Very well stated. It is true that these developments are independent from any relations with Sasuke or even Naruto (romantically speaking). There were a few exceptions to the cycle of development and exhibition such as the beginning of P2 where Naruto was the first to display the fruit of his efforts against Kakashi during the bell test and later against Itachi's clone followed by Sakura displaying her colossal strength against Kakashi as well and later during the battle with Sasori then lastly with Sasuke solidifying the supremacy of his growth over the other two at the end of the next arc. Conventionally though her role has always been the final one within the group. I'm curious to see where Kakashi, Sai, and Yamato would be designated in this cycle if they even have a role at all.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that Sakura will ever become their equivalent in the context of fighting abilities. They simply have too many advantages (Sharingan, bijuu chakra, ect.) that place them exceedingly higher up on the tier list than almost everyone else. She could possibly reach SM Naruto/MS Sasuke's level but that may be the extent of her progression barring any eventual developments Kishi may decide on. Acquiring an element of her own for ninjutsu (possibly Doton as it would complement her taijutsu based fighting style), learning to utilize highly advanced genjutsu, and possibly even abiding by a similar training regiment like Guy and Lee's (the weighted clothing and gate usage) would be heavily beneficial for someone like her but even with all of that she probably wouldn't be quite at Naruto and Sasuke's present level due to various other factors like Kishi's proclivity to have the male characters remain consistently superior in terms of fighting abilities (as horrible as that sounds).

Fighting ability isn't the only condition of her character we should look at. It's her desire to be treated an individual shinobi of equal standing alongside her comrades and willingness to fight despite the adversity that she is having to deal with that makes this moment truly significant.

I don't think that's the case. In fact, if she were only fighting with what she has, then she would of said something like, "I've almost replenished my chakra" or something along those lines. The lines she used here clearly suggest that she has a new technique. There would be no need for her to actually store chakra if she were just fighting with what she's shown before. Expect a new technique.

I don't think so because it wouldn't make sense for her to store up all that chakra just to release it at the right time and do what she usually does.

Kishimoto has proven that he can write awesome Sakura if he wants to. The forest of death and the battle with Sasori. Her resolve at the end of the chapter reminds me of those times. Those words can't be for nothing. If Kishimoto does screw her up....I'm gonna be soo mad >: (

I just hope he gives her realistic powerups. She's a tactician. She uses what she's got and doesn't waste it because she's smart. She's very skilled and effective, whereas Sasuke and Naruto are..monsters.

What I want to know is that what is she going to do. Is she really going up there and punch the hell of the beast? Sasuke can go all black flame on it and Naruto probably go sage mode to throw RasenShuriken. Then again, he probably has RKM ready, so he may go close to the beast and start go Rasengan Happy up close and personal. Unless he can summon Kuruma to do the bijuu bomb, then yeah, that works too. Naruto should do what he did to Kuruma, just go Bunshin and Senju Rasengan crazy. So yeah, what can Sakura do is what I'm wondering.

Even limited to punching and simple healing during her fight with Sasori, she was able to be of GREAT use and she was able to show everyone that she's a very capable fighter who's one hell of an asset to any team. She's definitely a strategic fighter when it comes down to it, and she's able to think quickly on her feet.

1. Tricking the Sound nin in the forest of Death. Sure, it wasn't a huge feat BUT she was able to land an attack on her foe and considering how limited she was at the time, that's what makes it all the more special.

2. She took down the Kazekage puppet with strategic thinking. Faking being poisoned definitely worked in her favor there.

3. Zetsu. Tricked him into believing she was going to heal him and BAM! His ass in on the ground.

Anyway, as you've said, she's smart, and she's skilled. Whatever new power up she has, she'll utilize it to the fullest because that's what she's good at. I wonder if she'll come up with a strategy while fighting with Naruto and Sasuke.

Yeah, and the guys at NF already translated in the most accurate possible way, which turns out the lonely existence was tweaked. I believe redragon88 still have the accurate translation. But if you insist, I wouldn't mind for more disappointment for SS...I mean, hope...
