The betrayal between the two seems inevitable. I just can't help but wonder who it will be that initiates it. Since Madara seems to be anticipating Obito's betrayal, then certainly he has another plan, right? Madara's calm face on this page seems to indicate that Obito's own intentions will only briefly slow his plans with the Juubi.

Obito waiting for Naruto's response certainly has me curious as well. Obito seems like he could be trying to prove something to Naruto, he's focused on him a lot.

Referring back to chapter 614, Obito says he wants to "teach them despair... carefully." He then has the Juubi use the Mokuton - Sashiki no Justu, striking down alliance soldiers in every direction, but then he attacks specifically in Naruto's direction. It could be that Obito was anticipating that one of Naruto's friends would jump in front of him (which Neji did), hoping to target Naruto through his friend.

Then during Hinata's speech to Naruto, the Juubi starts charging up its bomb, but as pointed out by more alliance soldiers, it aimed a specific direction. I could be reading into it too much, but maybe, Obito is trying to find the right target to affect Naruto?

Sakura could unintentionally get singled out soon, but I'm not sure since Naruto breaks down from Neji's death even. But I'm sure Obito isn't satisfied, and apparenetly, Neji's death didn't affect him TOO deeply since he snapped out of it so quickly. Maybe he'll attack Kakashi next (but I have this feeling he's saving Kakashi for other things) and since Sakura is in the vicinity....

That could work as well. Attack Kakashi and Sakura tries to save him, but I hope she doesn't throw her body in the way again. I hope she actually tries pounding some kitten for him before getting fatally wounded.

I don't think he is either. If anything, I can seem him getting into a rage over Naruto not reacting how Obito expected him to. That's why I feel it's still possible for Sakura to be attacked, whether it's directed at her specifically or not.

My best guess is that when Obito's plan fails, Kakashi would say something that will anger him further, which causes him to attack him with one last strike. Then, Sakura gets in the way and well, gets stabbed pretty bad. I'm not saying this will happen but that's one way to have her involve.

Is it weird that I can't see it happening like that? or, at least, I'd rather it didn't happen like that...I don't know why. It seems kind of "out there", especially since Kakashi's been sorta quiet, and Obito seems very indifferent towards him.

Obito has been cocky for a while, but it seems slowly his cool is disappearing. The reason is because he felt certain that his dream will become reality, but then the alliance shows up, which can be bad for him. Then, Juubi transformed and starts winning again, which is like "Ok. This is more like it." Now, since next chapter will be about the counterattack from the alliance, it could look bad again for Obito. I imagine that once his plan fails, he will be enraged. Kakashi might say something that backups Naruto's words, he will get mad and just go for the kill, which probably please Madara and maybe recall from Zetsu about him killing all those nin in the flashback. It's possible, but again, we will see what's next.

Imo, hatred is a strong weapon but indifference is even more.... in fact it's the worst feeling that could exist, even in real life.

I suspect that when Kakashi will mention her name (Rin) for making any excuse, Obito will lose his reason getting angry.

Sakura's and Kakashi's turn are the last. I don't know what for sure Kishi has for Sakura and maybe it won't be a huge role for her, but for Kakashi, I think he'll deal with Obito after some time, at least when Obito's end is near.

Well, good that you don't take two crap from NH fans bashing on Sakura.

The reason why I think Obito can go enraged is because he will be stuck in a world he no longer cares forever once his plan fails. That's where I can see him becoming extremely upset. You know, it's pretty consistent to see him as Tobi back then. In fact, remember when Tobi talked about wanting the moon eye plan to start already. He looked very hungry for that dream to happen already.

I know but since this fight started is obvious that Naruto wants to show that he's wrong, Naruto changed all his villain with a talk about love, friendship and etc...

Nagato was about hatred, Naruto understood what's hatred and show to Nagato he was wrong.

Obito is different, he knows what's hatred and his pain is based on losing the love of his life and the promise he could not keep that was to protect rin, he talks that the world cannot change and only peace can be achieved putting everyone on a genjutsu world.

Naruto tells him that he's wrong, and Obito didnt kill the alliance because he wants to know what's Naruto's answer, he even acknowledge that Naruto was similar to him.
I do believe that Naruto will change Obito and Obito will sacrifice himself after realizing he was wrong all the time, but neji's death is not sufficient for Obito to acknowledge that his pain is the same as Naruto.

I believe in this possibility because does not seems forced or fanfic.
