lol people have to realize how much of an asspull the pairings were that it needs a movie.
21) The fact that you even need a movie to explain the ending to a 700 chapter manga.

kittening hell l just saw the spoiler about Naruto thinking that Hinata's confession was like him liking ramen. No. No no nononono no no. l'm done. This isn't funny, this isn't believable, this is just appalling. Naruto not being booksmart is one thing, him not understanding complicated words and concepts is coherent with his characterization, but HE'S NEVER BEEN EMOTIONALLY RETARDED. He's supposed to be the COMPLETE OPPOSITE, he can understand people's feelings and empathize with them. To even imply he didn't understand Hinata's confession makes everything the character stood for pointless.
Oh but at least he has tons of fangirls now! Kill me.

But again... why?
To convey that the situation was drastic. Then, to convey that they are the same but different. Naruto "Ashura" Uzumaki is surrounded by friends (Sakura and Gaara) while Sasuke "Indra" Uchiha is surrounded by tools (Taka and Kabuto). Sasuke even left them behind because they're useless to him, just like he did in the Kage Summit.
I never saw the hype of this. Kishi has done tons of this before and they didn't matter.
"He loved her since he was a genin" MEESSSSSSSSSSSS HAHAHAHAHHAHA Kishi PLEASE kitten off
Why do you mock this? Sasuke's a genin in 699.

Yea...as the Japan fan stated in his blog, Naruto always thought that Hinata meant LIKED not loved. Like...he didn't fully understand the extent of her feelings. Remember when some of you were joking about that, saying that's probably why he hasn't given a reply? Funny how that's true now.

It apparently talks about the pairings and how kishi arrived at them. Was retweeted by the twitter account too so must be legit.

The part with Toneri's VA is a part of this interview and was translated earlier. The rest I don't believe it was.

Right, a girl jumping in to save you and almost getting killed while confessing she loves you means she likes you. Lol I guess they had to asspull a reason for why he ignored her all this time.Yea...as the Japan fan stated in his blog, Naruto always thought that Hinata meant LIKED not loved. Well Naruto's dense. Yea he would have known that she held some kind of romantic feelings for him but he wouldn't know the extent, especially if he hardly ever paid attention to her until now.

Lol just found two more things to add to my "Why the last is terrible" post.
"I absolutely can't let you die! I can't! I won't let you die ... your stupid dream ... now it's ... it's right in front of us!!" ----Sakura Haruno

He's dense, but not emotionally retarded. This is something exclusive to this POS movie.

I don't care how dense you are. Anyone should know how deep someones feelings are if they are willing to die for you. This is clearly just Kishi/SP giving an asspull reason for why he ignored her without making it look like he did so because at the time he loved someone else.Well Naruto's dense. Yea he would have known that she held some kind of romantic feelings for him but he wouldn't know the extent, especially if he hardly ever paid attention to her until now.

Assuming this is real, we have a brief reprieve before the movie's actual content is revealed. I understand that it's going against the grain to hope for the salvation of this series when everything has been turned upside down with this ending, but we've been so devastated recently that there's almost nothing to look forward towards with the series.
Yes, I was just thinking that Kishimoto would shoot himself in the foot if he did reveal it to be NS in the end. They've advertised this so hard as a Naruto romance with Hinata that to pull a bait-and-switch on those fans as well as SS, after already doing it to NS, would only lose him more fans than gain them.
There's no positive reason, no matter how much we all want it for Kishimoto to go for a NS ending at this point.
Keeping in mind that the 'shocking ending' only came from one source, Naruto's VA, I'm expecting that 'shocking ending' to be some new travesty that NS fans will simply have to have to endure.

This stuff about "shocking" is likely referring to the on-screen kiss, since it's not a common thing to see in Shonen.

This all seems so pointless to me, the ending, the movie, everything. It's all just to provide the basis for a spin off project and sell a few more tchotchkes under the Naruto brand.
Why Hinata? Is it really that much better than an NS ending in the long rung? So much effort has been put into this, dismantling the whole story and convincing fans it was destined to go another direction...and for what?? It's just pointless.

Sad but true. Everything has been retconed to death. It's over plan and simple. There is nothing left but the rubble remains of the franchise we once cared about.

No, there's just no way. NO WAY that this scene, the way it was written, Hinata's words and actions, could be realistically interpreted as "she likes me like l like ramen". Not after Naruto realized Sakura loved Sasuke and said he could understand how she felt because they both were rejected by the person they loved. Not after he asked his mother how she FELL IN LOVE with his dad. This garbage is only remotely credible if you see Naruto as some sort of alien who has no clue about human emotions. Which was never what he was. He was never Sai. But now for the sake of NH he has to be further ruined and turned into an abject parody of the character we grew up with. It's so sad.
