I'm gonna go for a repeat of the 2000 Superbowl Championship. Baltimore over New York.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you all. 49ers may beat giants (giants sure loved to go for them fumbles against the Packers), but Ravens aren't showing enough effort in these playoffs yet to prove to me that they can beat my Patriots.

It woudn't surprise me, but to this point high flying offenses that can't play a lick of D (the Packers and the Aints) have been going down to teams that can play D. New England is of the same mold. Only the Packers played worse D.

Denver had the NFL's worst offense and while it had a good D-I don't think it's in the same league as San Francisco, Baltimore, and Houston. Granted, if the Ravens do what they did against Houston they will lose, but I expect a better performance from the Baltimore offense as Houston has a much better defense.

The problem is the Patriots have one of the worst (statistically) Defenses in the league and Baltimore has one of the best.

Offense sells tickets but Defense wins Championships.

Green Bay handed the game over, the receivers who usually make EVERY play for Rodgers finally had an off day collectively. And Rodgers fell victim to the same harassment Brady endured in 2007, if you can hit these guys, their game is off. Rodgers threw some terrible passes as a result of being hit and pressured. Having a strong pass rush pays dividends, I think it is right up there with having a good Quarterback, you need to be able to hit the other teams QB. The Pats defense played great against denver, and pittsburgh couldn't. That said, pittsburgh's secondary is a bad one and Polamalu wasn't 100%. That paired with Big Ben being gimpy and Mendenhall not playing made the perfect opportunity for Denver to beat them. I don't think Flacco is that good, but they got Ray Rice and that stellar defense. They ran New England out of foxborough last time they met in the playoffs. It could happen again.

I think the Niners are going to beat the Giants too, that defense is incredible and Eli is still the turnover machine on a bad day. I think the Packers defense sucked THAT much more than it was Eli making plays. Although yeah, hes had a hell of a season.

This was the first time I got to watch San Fran live, and they're defense is good.

I thought the same. Rodgers was missing open guys. When he didn't miss them guys were dropping balls and when they weren't dropping balls they were fumbling them. The Saints had to play from behind because they couldn't quit turning it over.

The one thing I was glad to see (aside from the Saints losing in general) is that in the era of the 5,000 yard passer, defense still matters.

I'm tempted to pick the Giant's since they've looked so good these past past few weeks. And Eli's playing as well as ever has. But if the Niners can hold on to the ball and have Alex Smith show up again, I really have to like their chances.

He put up plenty of points a few years ago. And then he ran into the Giants. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't suprise anyone if Brady has another killer performance, but a good defense can slow down any offense if they're able to rattle the quarterback.

To be honest I'm not even going to call what happened with the Denver game as a fluke. When the Pats met the Broncos earlier before the New Year, the game had a similar outcome. Not saying the Brady wasn't a factor, but the lack of defense from Denver was what really determined things. All the Tebow power in the world, can't save you if your defense isn't up to snuff.

Now, concerning the Ravens, I was at last Saturday's game. Even though, after the second quarter our Offense wasn't up to snuff and defense was suffering. We made adjustments during the halftime and halted the momentum Houston was getting. With some powerful plays from Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, putting stoppage on most of Houston's 3rd down conversions. I think when pressed our Defense, tends to hold us when all else fails.

In comparison to upcoming match up between Patriots and Ravens. I think we have a very good shot.

Props go to Wilfork, for playing the best he has ever played this year for this game, and making up for Tom deciding to make all his mistakes this game. This is why Wilfork is my favorite man on the defensive line for the Patriots. As for Rice, he played terrible. Then again, Tom played terrible, so the game was so close. tongue.gif Now to pull for the Giants.

My father-in-law said rooting for the Patriots is like pulling for the Yankees. So yeah...

Go Niners. I hate the Giants, too. NY/NE would be one of those that it'd be s shame both can't lose.

EDIT: The Giants owe Kyle Williams a party. I'll probably pass on the Super Bowl as I don't have anyone I can root for. I hate them both.

I ain't fond of New England at all. I really ain't. But the G-men can choke on it. So I hope the Pats win. Either way, F Cundiff & Williams. It really is a shame that they both teams can't lose.
