Amen, not even full chapter, but it's too good to be true, all the BS of this 699/700 and The Last - is so so forced that I hardly belive in anything releted to it, because it hurts logic and sense of sanity itself.

Way to many things wrong with this ending/movie to even be remotely plausible or believable. Something else is going on, it has to. It's just to broken to be true.

But it's not really a shounen movie, now is it? Even though the manga was a shounen, this movie is a completely different beast and genre completely. In fact, the first information released to the public concerning the movie was that it would focus mainly on romance. That's not a very "shounen" quality. People know what to expect when seeing the movie and having these obvious expectations confirmed is not shocking. It's predictable. This is not a shounen movie. It's a romance movie and it's been regularly described as one for quite some time.

 

That's not quite true.  "Shounen romantic comedy" is its own entire genre, and includes everything from Rumiko Takahashi's entire library, to some of the great shounen series of the 80s and 90s like Kimigure Orange Road, Golden Boy (I think that's seinen, actually), to modern stuff like Haruhi Suzumiya or the Devil is a Part Timer.

 

Naruto was not in the genre of shounen romantic comedy (very few Shounen Jump series are), but that's not to say that no shounen series ever focuses on romance.

And then you have action shounen with a strong or important romance element such like City Hunter, Rurouni Kenshin or Slam Dunk.

 

A minor correction, though. It is not Kimigure but Kimagure.

Actually she was a NH shipper until the beginning of Part II. Then she started to ship NS and dislike NH.

 

Given her post-timeskip opinions about NH I doubt that she is content with this development. She was a Hinata fan that hated like her crush on Naruto held her back and dumbed her down. And that is exactly what has happened to Hinata.
