Yes rocci is right. You need the Byakugan to use that technique. It's not like Chidori that in a way anyone can use but if you have the Sharingan it gets better.

These are not even retcons. This is just doing whatever they want on a whim. At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see burrito using Kyuubi powers without being a Jinchuriki or having any of Kurama's chakra. Anything is possible with this "story" now. Anything goes.

I'll be honest I don't really give a damn about the whole BoruSara shipping at all. 

 

 

 

The only thing I'll touch up is that they look okay together. I'm not that gun ho about it considering that it's Kishi we're talking about That is all.

Well it's not too farfetched I mean Kinkaku and Ginkaku had the chakra of Kurama and they weren't jinchuriki hosts, although they were technically eaten first and then bit on his fat to gain the chakra so I'm not so entirely sure.

I was talking about Love Live. That musical anime. It's at the movie and Japan seems to liking it a lot. Those albums sure is selling strong now. Anyway, it looks like Boruto is getting a crapload of advertisements than The Last. There goes my hope of Tokyo Ghoul OVA budget...

Well, to be fair in this case, you don't need the Byakugan to be able to do the style in general. You only need the Byakugan to be able to use the style at its maximum (and easiest) efficiency because of its ability to specifically locate the tenketsu/chakra points in the opponent's body to strike. Like, I'm sure Lee, for example, would be able to learn the style in terms of its movements and whatnot, but he would pale in comparison to a full-blooded Hyuga with the Byakugan as he would not be able to precisely hit the opponent's chakra points (and, of course, probably wouldn't be able to push chakra into them to block the points anyway). The only other people that would probably have the best chance of using the style more effectively without the Byakugan would be combat medics like Sakura or Tsunade if they bothered learning the style themselves since they could probably know the locations of all the chakra points by study and memory alone.

On the other hand, the Hyuga are very reliant on the Byakugan because of such reasons, so if they did lose it for one reason or another, or someone can counter it somehow, because of that reliance and rarely training themselves in other things that don't require it, they would be pretty helpless combat-wise. I mean, we did see how briefly helpless Neji was for a time against Kidomaru as soon as he discovered and exploited the Byakugan's single degree of blind spot, or when it came to Ranmaru in the Raiga filler.

The Chidori/Raikiri is similar - you don't require the Sharingan to be able to use them in general, but it is necessary if you want to be able to use it most effectively because of the tunnel vision anyone else would get due to the speed of the charge at the opponent that makes the chance even higher that you could miss, run into something, get counterattacked, etc. which the Sharingan counteracts. And given its brightness and loud noise, most opponents would easily see/hear the technique coming without preparing it beforehand and charging from a distance to hit the target at such high speeds, hence why, otherwise, other techniques are needed to immobilize opponents so they can't dodge.

What you say may be true, but the problem is, Kishi is not gonna bother with all the errors that come with using techniques without the Byakugan or Sharingan. I bet Boruto will be shown to use the Gentle fist and Chidori just as good as Neji and Sasuke did at his age, even though he doesn't have the proper eye powers. Because, Kishi doesn't care if he breaks his own rules, as long as it's more convenient for him, he will ruin anything he previously established.

I have to disagree.
You don't need sharingan to perform chidori, but you need it to counter the tunnel effect. The same thing doesn't happen with raiton armor, gate, and Kyubi power user who move faster than chidori user.

You need byakugan to perform gentle fist. There are reason why gentle fist introduce as hyuga fighting style and no one else. Not even kabuto chakra coat categorize as gentle fist.

Despite lacking the Byakugan he has Hyuga blood so he may have better chances of using the gentle fist than non hyugas
