The only think that irks me is he says this is the only movie that has romance in it. I thought RTN was pretty romantic.

I guess he means romance more directly? Like, since in this movie Hinata seems to be pursuing Naruto, that kind of stuff.

I agree though, RTN was quite romantic.

So the article says, "Kishimoto-sensei says the manga and movie are connected..."  and based on this people are believing the movie is 100% canon?

 

I'm not trying to say the movie isn't going to be canon, it is just I'm with KnS and just being skeptical. Being connected doesn't really mean canon. It could just mean that, since it takes place after the manga, that it would be important for fans to actually finish the manga so that they could know what's with all the characters.

Man, just thinking of Sakura trying to encourage Hinata to give Naruto the scarf or ask him out or something just seems so OOC for the series itself. Especially if Naruto excepted. That's one of the main reasons I'm not THAT worried. It seems way to OOC to even happen. I don't think Kishi would do something so ridiculous.
I'd say unless we get something big, we should disregard the movie until next week when the manga ends. Hings should be more clear after that.

You're welcome. He's also being credited with story conception, so I think it's safe to say the Hyuuga plot is his. He also said it's the first movie to focus on romance, and hopes people enjoy it...so seems like that's part of his story concept.

Easy, technically all the movies and anime episodes are connected with the manga. This could be connected to manga by simply having it be take place after the manga. 

 

Really discussing if this canon or not is leading to nowhere really.

seeing sakura and hinata interact like that feels so forced. i expect to see this kind of interaction going on between sakura and ino, not with the terribly developed character that is named hinata.

I really wonder as to why people freak out when the movie is not even out yet! This literally seems like....freaking out before the exams just cuz you think some questions MIGHT BE asked for the exam!

But taking into account the fact that he said it was okay if you didn't read the manga, I think they might have a point. If you don't have to read the manga how much relevancy would this movie have, because if it was relevant wouldn't it spoil the manga for many non reader viewers?

 

Edit: Actually this goes in accord to the fact that some people are anime-only watchers and this movie by not being that relevant (in canon) would not spoil the rest of the original story aka the manga ^^
