Actually the great toad sage said "a boy..."
Young man isn't wrong but I believe that with kanji 少年 (shounen) the translation "Boy" is more appropriate.

I am just going to bring up what me and NaruSaku4life3g have been saying for a while now. It is no longer the "Road to if NS will be canon," but rather after this point it is "the Road to how it becomes canon." It's not canon yet, but it will be the end result. There is no way to pull out any other pairing and have it be believable at this point. Not after that scene and the parallel. You don't do something like that on purpose and not follow through with it.
Otherwise, why have the scene at all then?
Bolded: This is your biggest concern? After the fiasco of 615 and the fiasco of Sasuke's whole entire life being written as nothing, but asspulls, bad writing, forced plots, and odd circumstancing leading to weird conclusions, you believe this is bad writing? No offense, but after all that other crap I just listed, this actually makes sense.
Totally agree with you, for me NS is already canon (not officially in the manga yet, but will be in the end) nothing will change that.
As already said, i see this whole Gf talk with minato as a totally irrelevant scene. The important thing that made it canon for me is the kushina parallel, but that still doenst change the fact that naruto looks dumb if he was dead serious about sakura beeing his girlfriend and if thats the case, then i see it as bad writing after all that happened between them. One reason for me to believe that he wasnt serious, or just brain AFK.
@HauntedCake: No im not pessimistic, as just said NS is canon for me but i simply dont see naruto beeing serious about sakura beeing his girlfriend. Of course this scene shows that he hasnt changed his feelings for sakura, but to say that he belives that they are already a couple is something i cant agree with.

^Personally I think you're taking the girlfriend comment too literally. Not to seriously, just too literally.

Nicely said. That said nice that my quote is known here. I am a star!!! I'm kidding.I am just going to bring up what me and NaruSaku4life3g have been saying for a while now. So...that means it is Sasuke. The only question is under what circumstance. Will they be buddy to buddy, or will they fight as enemy? I would so choose the first one, but latest chapter got me concerned...Actually the great toad sage said "a boy..."

That's why he said "more or less". Meaning he hasn't got confirmation from Sakura.
Hmm. I see it a little differently. Consider:
+ Sakura tromps out to the snowy Land of Iron and tells Naruto she loves him in front of Kakashi-sensei, Yamato-taicho, and several of their friends.
+ The look on Naruto's face clearly proves that those are the words he's been waiting to hear from her.
+ Nevertheless, Naruto begins to distrust and question Sakura. He tells her that joking about something like her feelings for him isn't funny.
+ Naruto tells Sakura very seriously that he hates people who lie to themselves.
+ Sakura responds by getting angry. She is indignant that Naruto dares to say she doesn't know her own mind or how she feels. She tells him to quit trying to twist things around, and that if he doesn't like her / love her / want her / feel the same way then he should just say so.
+ Naruto does not deny his feelings for her. He simply questions again why she would bring it all up at that moment.
+ Sakura leaves, and Sai goes on to give a better explanation of her actions. He also confirms that Sakura's actions were for Naruto's sake.
The bottom line is, Sakura said she loved Naruto and when she essentially asked him to refuse her if he didn't feel the same way, he didn't.
So even though both Naruto and Sakura (and the witnesses, for that matter) know it's not that simple, and that the issue of her feelings for Sasuke have not been 100% resolved, and Naruto was not satisfied that she chose him willingly and for the right reasons, that's how it was left -- that they were "more or less" boyfriend and girlfriend because neither denied it.
That's why Naruto answered his father the way he did. He stumbled with the answer because it's basically true -- because of Sakura's confession and Naruto's desire + his lack of refusal -- but it's not clearly resolved. Kishimoto used Minato to ask the question as a way of letting readers know where Naruto stands.

Yamato's speech to sakura isn't irrelevant. If it was why would he bother to even put it in there?? I'm sure he will go back to that when Sakura flashbacks to everything Naruto has done for her or something

LOL Know it all....
But yeah, Naruto wants to win her heart the right way. It's not until then will he fully accept her feelings for him entirely.

Sakura's yin seal is much bigger than Tsunade's. Does that mean she has more chakra stored in it?

LMAO! It looked bigger than hers in the chapter IMO. Especially in the close up shot in the chapter. Now I have to draw Naruto. Haven't drawn him seriously in a bit so should be fun.

I don't see it as bad writing because there is stuff from the manga that proves it can be more. The thing you mentioned about him not being with Sakura because of the promise kind of got lifted away since the time of Sakura's confession. Kakashi even says: "Seems like a heavy burden has been lifted from his shoulders." So, it is not unreasonable to think that Naruto can accept being with Sakura despite not fulfilling the promise. Hokage is a different story because he believes he couldn't save his friend.
And this is another problem I feel because we have these scene that people see as bad writing, but Sasuke turning "good" because Hashirama tells a story from long ago is supposed to be good writing? I rather have these scenes that actually had build up, than Sasuke "change faster than the wind" arcs.
First of all i dont see the sasuke turning good part as bad writing because i believe theres more to it. I wait till the story is over to decide if it was bad writing for this part.
The thing is that naruto himself told sakura that he believes shes lying about her feelings for him and still believs that she loves sasuke, but now suddenly he is dead serious about her beeing his girlfriend. That simply doesnt fit.
The only possibility i see about the scene is like KnS posted, that he just isnt really sure whats going on between him and her right now, so he says "yeah thats more or less it".
