This is the way Ruroni Kenshin should've been, not the filler laced piece of crap anime that ended before the manga did.
Another two films at the top of my list, although I'd give them a 10 perfect rating. Animation is amazing, music is gorgeously enhancing, and the writing is great.

It would of been better if the two kids remembered who the adults were, but I guess that's the way it is.

Why?
VoilĂ ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Iron Man

The movie was one of the better superhero movies made. The hero was unconventional in the sense that he was a major a**hole and not likable at all, but eventually he grew on you. Also the romance was the best I've ever seen in the superhero genre. Usually these things just feel tacked on because they needed to attract a certain demographic.
My only issue with the story is that it was too short and there wasn't really closure. I'm sure a sequel is probably in works, but I felt the ending was pretty abrupt.

A blatant ripoff of "Battle Royal" only with convicts instead of high school students. It's not a very good ripoff either, despite a pretty good performance by ex-WWE wrestler "Stone Cold" Steve Austin this mean spirited, dumb and sexist romp shouldn't be viewed by anyone.

Yeah I get that some times, when I was born they thought I was a white demon child and the rabbi wouldn't cut my tiny lightsaber, somthing about my name they said although it was just based upon the whimes of a jewish grandmother who would want a doctor as a grandson the sec he was BORN! although that same grandson would indulge on the forbbiden arts of the geek! hentai included! thus thy granny will parish from the powa of cancer and leave this mere child to write an unsetlling sort review of a poor adaptation of great literacy magma opus, which stands on his own as great action flick which his entire awesomness is based on the fact that there is a masked (british) vigilante whom will spur my own pathtic attempts at vigilantisemhood by reciting the likes of shakespeare while cutting down the enemies of FREEDOM! TASTE JUSTICE!
I got lists of them.
And if you want scary...
:teehee:
That's just STATAN!

Well, it depends on what you're talking about. There are 2 directors cut DVDs, which are the 2 I saw, Trust & Betrayal (a combination of the two OVAs the first being Trust, and the other OVA Betrayal) the third is a OVA called Reflection. So I assume that Ed saw all three of these in their separate incarnations.
Matrix - 8.5/10, revolutionary when it came out. Well and efficiently written. Few inconsistencies or anomalies on the part of the machines. Fighting's good, but not greatness. Great action, the wachowskis really have an eye for action sequences.

Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie (1994)-10/10
A year before the horrible Jean Claude Van Damme/Raul Julia vehicle a Japanese Animated Street Fighter film was made. This movie had some of the best animation I've ever seen, great music and the voice overs fit the characters. This movie was famous for two reasons, the infamous Chun-Li shower scene (which was never seen on an American release of the movie until 2007 when it came out on DVD) and the ensuing fight between her and Vega/Balrog which is considered one of the top fight scenes in the history of Japanese anime. If there was one knock against this film it would be that the Cammy issue is never resolved, but otherwise this is a fantastic film for both Street Fighter fans and fans of anime.

This rating may actually change later. I haven't had a full chance to digest this film yet. This film, although it does deal with Jui Jutsu is not to be mistaken for a action, martial arts mega-buster film. This film is written by a famous playwright, like a play. The only reason I feel that David Mamet did not write this as a play is because the martial arts aspect, in this form, would probably be less impactful and possibly disengaging to an audience. That's not to say the film doesn't have fights, it does, but that is not the focus of the film at all. It deals with the fight the main character, Mike Terry, played masterfully by Chitewel Ejiofor, has internally. As I said earlier, this was written like a play, almost like a tragedy. Mike has everything he believes in tossed back in his face (I mean everything, only missing thing is the kitchen sink), and he has to ultimately decide if he's going to destroy his honor and most of all everything he's ever believed in. Honestly, watching this film was like watching someone get the same beating emotionally and mentally as Jesus did in Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ", but in slow motion, and the hardest part for Mike, and especially the audience, is there's no emotional catharsis, no small release, during the torture, because he's not a man who grunts and shouts, he's a man who due to his code, fights to remain calm and maintain balance. But along with the torture earlier on in the film, there is humor, as with any good writing there is balance in that respect, and it may take some people awhile to understand what's going on but man does it slap you and Mike in the face then.
Emily Mortimer is great, as she usually is, Tim Allen is in this (dont not see this film because of him, he's barely in it) and he does a great job as well, although when you play as many disgruntled old person roles as Tim has... wait that's been his whole career, nm, but he's no distracting or detracting. I'm prattling on, but what I said before about the rating possibly changing on this film is it's ending.... The film, plays differently then Mamet's normal stuff. The cadence is faster, the dialogue has less pauses, I personally prefer this Mamet, but the ending... I can't help but think if this was a play instead of a film, the ending might have been different. Don't get me wrong, on an emotional and human being level I liked the way it ended. But you can tell this was a screenplay written by a person who also finds answers in his martial arts, which actually by the way Mamet I believe has picked up Jui Jutsu with his son.

I'd recommend this film to people who take martial arts. It might be lengthy and unintelligible to those who don't. But I'm not sure, since I have taken martial arts. the only reason I forewarn is because everyone else who was in the theater (all 6 of them) didn't like the movie, the younger ones cause it wasn't the matrix......

7/10 Chornicles of Narnia "Prince Caspian" - I've never seen the first part nor ready any books, but the plot it self seems similar to the Lord of the Rings. The river, the water rush, Kingdom of humans, invasion, castle battles. Etc.

One of my friends cosplayed as Indy when we went to see it, so we had the right mood if nothing else before the movie starts. So after the laughable trailer for the upcoming Star Wars animated series (or movie?), we were more than ready for Indy to get his whip cracking. The opening was awesome, with the whole shadow-hat thingie along with the scenes in the warehouse. I honestly thought Harrison Ford was getting too old for this kind of deal, but the movie proved me wrong. The cast was great, the plot was ok and the overall movie was awesome. I loved it from beginning to the end, and I will buy the DVD for sure!!

10/10 Best movie I have seen in awhile. It stars Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Saved) and Shannon Sossamon (A Knights Tale, The Rules of Attraction). It is about people who have committed suicide and are learning to cope in a weird sort of purgatory. Despite how that sounds the movie is actually quite funny and is filmed in kind of the same manner as a Michel Gondry movie (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep). It is also very similar to Everything is Illuminated with Elijah Wood which is another awesome movie.
same night I also watched
Spun
7/10
All in all a decent movie. It is a bizzare comedy that looks at the life of a group of Meth heads focusing on Ross a character played by Jason Schwartzman who we see become more and more warped as he ventures on a 4 day drug binge with no sleep. Allot of awesome cameos. Rob Halford from Judas Priest is in it. Deborah Harry of Blondie is also in it. Billy Corgan has a very breif cameo wearing a ridiculous blond wig that makes him look like an albino. Not a movie for the kiddies. Some graphic smex and foul language.

Oh man you got to see the first one. The second one is great, but I think the first just has this completely different feel than the other two.
