I think it makes Neji's speech and the complete denial of one of major mottos of part 1.
About hard work surpassing a genius and Neji's quote about destiny.
It made that Naruto's destiny was like that, he was blessed with powerfull parents, bloodline and being the reincarnation of ashura.
Neji was right.
Naruto said that with hard work he could change his destiny however that was his destiny all along.
It was a gicen even back that naruto wasnt that much of a loser. All of us knew he could go berserk and destroy the entire arena. The hard work loser thing would apply when he stopped using kurama

Does anyone else think this whole "we're destined to fight each other to the death because of our ancestry" is eerily similar to what Rave a Master did only instead of Symphonians and Raregrooves it's Senju and Uchiha
I will not get into details about differences and similarities between those situations, but...
Honestly, that is a very old archetype; and it is used widely, and often.
It is not exclusive to anime, either. For example, in Spider-Girl (a Spider-Man spin-off featuring Peter Parker's daughter), the newest Green Goblin claimed he HAD to fight Spider-Girl because his father and grandfather fought her father.
Do you want to take over the world, huh? Well, you'll have to go through us first!

@darkrest
because this is shonen lol jk
I think that happen because naruto has more ceiling unlike ordinary people, while sasuke ceiling is base on plot demand.

This is quite likely IMO. People could have very well mistaken the Sage's brother for the Sage himself. Which is why legends had him sealing the Juubi whole instead of splitting it into the body and chakra into 2 people.
Yeah but like @redragon88 already pointed out Dark Kurama said the Juubi's body was in the Rikudou preventing him from dying when he created the Bijuus and separated them. So that's not really possible. Right now there are 3 explanations either the brother gave his part of the Juubi to the Rikudou or there is another part of the Juubi out there and the third possibility is that there is a mistranslation.

The fact of the matter is that the whole "Destiny doesn't really exist you can be who ever you want if try hard enough" from part 1 was completely and utterly destroyed the second the child of prophecy was mentioned for the first time. Because it turned out that even though Naruto said he will create his own path and he won't follow destiny, he was already following the destiny path all along. He was already a God among men, the only thing he needed to do was to train a bit in order to unlock his potential.

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

Well I think all this means that Naruto VS Sasuke final showdown is inevitable. I just wonder what Sakura will do when both these boys battle it out and perhaps repeat history once again?
It's inevitable since the beginning of the story and during all these years, Kishimoto never stopped to give hints toward it. It would be totally out of story for them not to have this final fight.

Most likely the same thing that sparked the battle between Madara and Hashirama.

Forerunner?
HALO CONNECTION CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Serious answer
hehehe Me too I hear the word forerunner then i say Halo 4, but heard Alien and sage and where they come from, I say Assassin's Creed '' those who came before."
In another hand this situation Asura and Indra once again overshadow Naruto vs Sasuke.

I'm just so kittening sick of him now. Why Kishi loves this character so much is beyond me. Also I don't get the running joke about him having legions of fangirls, it kind of is a step backward for any character trying to get development and start have feelings for someone else (hell this was actually stated by Chouji at one point)
Sorry I just had to get that out.

This is exactly how I feel, and exactly why I didn't want another history lesson chapter.
I don't hate the chapter, but I had similar sentiments. The difference in communications styles is understandable simply because they change as time passes. I run into that trying to read old case law. However, it keeps going and going. I got it after page 2 and then it kept happening for an additional 6 pages. I feared that would eat up the whole chapter.
It was overkill.
I mean, is anyone seriously surprised by this parallel "revelation"? We have known (or should have) from the moment the history of the Sage was first mentioned that his two sons were the prototype parallel of all the sibling-like wannabe leader clashes that followed. Hashirama and Madara, Obito and Kakashi, Naruto and Sasuke. Light and Dark. Love and Power. Screw Up and Genius.
Is it just fate, fate, and more inescapable fate?
The only thing I can think of is that this is meant as a refresher to the audience so he is certain they are up to speed when the Sage goes into everything else or that it's going to differ in some way that the basic explanation offered earlier: that this is real, full truth. Otherwise, I don't understand regurgitating that part of the info dump.
I agree. Kaguya was the only interesting and fresh thing about this chapter, in my opinion.
It's no surprise since she exists only to explain the relevant parts of who the sage is. Personally, I don't care about her at all and I barely care about the Sage. I suppose we have to go through this because Naruto is going to be the next Sage, but I still feel that going into all this is unnecessary and do little for the story. It's not horrible or anything, it just wastes time with, to me, irrelevant information.
At it's core, this is all setting up the field of battle and terms on which Naruto and Sasuke will fight. That's been done again and again and again. It was fine at the Hashirama/Madara point. I don't need to know who the Sage was, what he did, or any of it.
This is manga is Naruto and it will come down to his fight with Sasuke. The terms of set and have been for sometime...I don't feel like going this far into the back story is enhancing that basic conflict, so I don't give a damn about any of this. However, since he has gone there, he needs to explain what Kaguya's sins were because if they involve the misuse of that power then the Sage should have seen it's later misue coming from centuries away.
And I can't wait to hear what the difference Ninshuu and Ninjutsu is.
I loved seeing so much of Naruto. He may be a bit dense or mentally sheltered, but it still rubs me the wrong way when he is made to feel like a loser. I found the Sage to be a lot less wise and sage-worthy when he stooped to essentially calling Naruto "no good", and saying that even the most talented parents can produce a child who doesn't inherit their potential.
What was the Sage's point with all that negativity -- of knocking Naruto down -- while boring him with his backstory before he "must entrust" something to stupid, incompetent, incapable old Naruto?
Since about the latter half of Part 1 there has been a huge disconnect between Naruto the Loser and what actually is being written.
When it comes down to it, he's the son of a Legendary Hokage and an Uzumaki clan member. He's connected to the Sage's son by being his reincatnation. His teachers include two sages and Kakashi...I can keep going. Hell, because it's introduced now and in this form the only evidence we have that the other son had no talent is because Kishimoto says it.
Other than the first arc what suggests he has no talent? How do you distinguish that between simply not having adequate training early on? How quickly did he learn Rasengan? Summoning? The Kyuubi is a big boost, which further complicates it because is that why he can do what he does?
The closest character to hard-working losers is Lee, Gai and, Dai.
He's treating hard word and innate talent as exclusive concept when they aren't.
I think it's mostly for comedy reasons, but Naruto sounding like a dumbass and the Sage dumping on him are the only things that convey "Loser." Kishi can SAY it all he wants, but what he's been putting on the page since the Chunnin exams doesn't match up with that. It might have been better to just let the idea go.

tbh when I first saw Hagoromo from behind, I was expecting him to turn around and look exactly to Naruto.

what do you guys think is the thing that the sage said he must entrust to naruto? i know a lot of people don't want madara to be talked out of stopping the war so maybe being the so6p he can give naruto something he can physically use against madara. i just get the feeling that naruto will just get some words of wisdom and use that against madara

Madara has no mental weakspot. Just the thought of Rin made Obito emotional, she was his achilles' heel. Izuna doesn't influence Madara like that.
