But you can't catch Obito off guard, or at least it's not effective. Naruto's attack only left a scratch on his back and it healed right after. None of Sasuke's attacks can kill Obito in one blow.

--

Btw, I can only imagine the nostalgia if Kakashi comes back after Obito is TnJ'd.

Yeah, but everything indicates that he is not going to be the Juubi's Jinchuriki anymore since all his chakra is being extracted. If he doesn't die right away from the extraction itself first actually, he will at least be left vulnerable.

Hmm..Naruto and Sasuke may face the same conflict as Hashirama and Tobirama did when they argued about whether they should kill Madara or not. :plots:

And one more thing I forgot, 628 of course. I think that was it, you know when Sakura was thinking of Naruto and how he shouldn't exert himself? That is also similar to what Rin said in this chapter. :P

Obito didn't know his parents? This is news to me. Kishi should have mentioned it earlier but I suppose the flashbacks from 599/600 and others didn't really call for it; they were mostly centred around Rin, and his goals after she died. Plus it totally makes sense, contextually. I know people always say that Obito didn't have it nearly as bad as Naruto, so hopefully this closes the gap a bit. But anyhow, I loved this chapter. :3

So, some Obito (or should I say ObiRin) flashbacks - I'm sure no one was surprised. I like that we got dialogue for some of the scenes from the flashbacks from way back.

These two were so cute. :wibble: I love how they were good friends. Lol, Obito trying to act all smooth and kitten, blushing "By helping me, it's like you're saving the world. And to do that... Well... You have to stay at my side and watch over me.. It's like.. You know..." Aww. ;u; it even ties into Itachi's words to Naruto - Obito would have been Hokage because he had Rin by his side, Minato became Hokage because he had Kushina by his side (and all the others), and finally Naruto will become Hokage because he has Sakura by his side.

And then Rin agreeing to watch over him. "It's a promise!" And Obito tearing up... The adorbs in this chapter. The way she acted when telling Obito not to act cool was very similar to the hospital scene where Sakura was healing Naruto's arm after using the Rasenshuriken. Rin wasn't afraid to scold Obito if he was over exerting himself, and she worried about him doing that, like Sakura does (especially in the war). They even share a promise like NS does (Sakura saying next time they'll be together, and POAL in a way). Even the way she was drawn, she looked like Sakura.

Even though we didn't get a direct parallel confirmation (and right now it seems like we might not even get it), I'm okay with that, cause Kishi made it even more obvious this chapter (though of course some will deny it...)

Anyway, I still don't like how Obito is giving up so easily but it's to be expected. Lmao @ Naruto mentioning Rin's famous line. I hope he mentions her more, hopefully along with Sakura... Naruto wants Obito to join them, but I wonder how the rest of the Alliance will feel about that. I mean, obviously they need all the help they can get but they won't be happy with Obito (who knows, they may even be a little irked at Naruto for letting him off so easy).

Looking forward to next chapter.

Oh, and @Darkrest
I see what you mean about Neji being placed on the same level as Rin was to Obito, how losing him was supposedly like losing Rin, and so on. Poor writing, but what are you gonna do.

There is a 19th page LOL

I didn't saw it at first I thought the 18th page was the last !

I was sure Naruto would say something like that in the future...

Soooooo if Naruto is talking about Rin directly, I think he will not talk about Sakura.
Or maybe next chapter ^^ but I don't think so.

Lmao, I didn't see that page, either. xD It said End on the eighteenth page so...! Plus this chapter was pretty long, I was surprised.

The promise that Rin made to Obito in this chapter remembered me when Sakura promised to Naruto in hospital that the next time they'll be together. It's curious that both Naruto&Sakura and Obito&Rin made each other a promise.

But of course, it's a NH parallel, I can't dare to negate it here :hm:

I don't think he placed him on the same level as Rin, it's just the closest thing he has to her at the moment.

Rin seems like a real nice girl though. She really cared for Obito idk if it was romantic or not but she cared deeply. It's sad to see she suffering the same fate as Sakura...people calling her a wh*** already and a lot of other stuff.

Yeah one thing I'd like to say that the ObiRin is a parallel to NaruSaku, but a platonic one. It's shows how much Rin cared about Obito but whether or not she actually had romantic feelings for him is really more vague. However I'd find it acceptable if Rin had a crush on Kakashi but considered Obito her best friend and much more important to her. That that way it could fully parallel NS without the romance. However that means I'm prepared for the worst case scenario with NS too. However I'd be satisfied if Sakura doesn't end up with Naruto but still considers him the most important person in her life, just not the man she chooses to be with. Not saying that's the case at all, especially with all the hints we get, but that is how I'd be satisfied, in the ever so slim cance NS doesn't happen

Because they are the only "strong" women in the series?......... *Shrugs* that's my take on why they do that, not that it justifies matters. I'm sure their mentality is that they hate any female character that is not strong willed or shows the same grit as the men in the series, but again that is rather hypocritical and sexist to me all the same. Just like how not all men are not tough minded and sheer determined, It should be accepted that not all women are like that either but value them no less anyway. This idea that men are suppose to be tough and women are suppose to emotional is a stereotype ingrained  all over the globe, and there are people trying to tear that down, me being one of them. HOWEVER, to hate on a woman for not being strong willed is not promoting feminism and is hypocrisy, because what I say is equality and equity is to accept the tough and the gentle disposition of a man or woman, and value them no less.

I said this on NS fanclub on NF and i repeat that here:

It's true that this chapter has nothing to do with romance. But it's undeniable to say that there were small clues about the parallel with NS. Watch the promise that Rin makes to Obito. A very reminiscent of Sakura's promise to Naruto in the hospital scene, just after the failure of Sasuke's rescue mission, "The next time we'll do together."
Besides also Naruto promised to Sakura that he'll bring back Sasuke while Obito promised to Rin that he will become the hokage and bring the peace into the shinobi world by stopping the war. It's not a parallel between couples, it's a parallel between promises. Watch also the situation between Jiraiya and Tsunade. The last time they're seen each other, Jiraiya made the promise to her that he would return, a promise that Tsunade remarked once again with Shizune when in a scene She looked worried and awaits anxiously his return, sadly unhappening.

Yess.

ObiRin, JiraTsu, NaruSaku..basically every pairing in Naruto, have non-romantic interactions and a bond outside of romance.

LOL

To me Kishi crystallised everything that compose NaruSaku in those ObiRin's memories.

Everything is repeating itself, everything is cross-over. It's like an echo that's flowing around.

That vibe could not possibly or plausibly be NaruHina.

Oh god I made a blasphemy ... O_O Please forgive myself...

And now people are calling Rin a whore ? Seriously ?

I couldn't find myself liking the chapter much, or more accurately Obito, while I liked Rin's flashbacks,  I couldn't feel any sympathy for Obito, and really got pissed off when Naruto said they had a similar upbringing, unless they had a revelation that he was the grandson of Madara and was rejected by the Uchiha clan, we've not seen anything that shows his life was that bad, I've felt sympathy for nearly all of Naruto's opponants, Zabuza, Gaara, Sasuke, Kakuza, and Negato, all had their justifyable reasons but Obito's is still the weakest yet it's the worst reaction to them all. He was ultimately responsible for Naruto's parents death, and no matter how you look at it it was revenge motivated, 'sensie couldn't protect Rin so i'll take away the people who he cared for'.

He claimed it was all for peace this week like a Hokage but his motives are revenge driven, He helped elimitate the Uchiha clan because of his personal grudge against them, He didn't act like a Hokage, he acted like a dictator hell bent on revenge. MAybe next week we'll see something that mike make him likeble but so far not seeing anything.

I'm not sure if I would say the parallel between Obi/Rin and Naru/Saku are accurate....Sakura while she did say it to herself at the chuunin exams, never told Naruto she believed in his dream until after the the time skip...Rin always showed kindness and belief in Obito and it was platonic 100% I think she was like Naruto was with Hinata and completely clueless about the other persons feelings and supported them because they didn't beleive themselves they could acheive their dream.
