Obito didn't know his parents? This is news to me. Kishi should have mentioned it earlier but I suppose the flashbacks from 599/600 and others didn't really call for it; they were mostly centred around Rin, and his goals after she died. Plus it totally makes sense, contextually. I know people always say that Obito didn't have it nearly as bad as Naruto, so hopefully this closes the gap a bit. But anyhow, I loved this chapter. :3
So, some Obito (or should I say ObiRin) flashbacks - I'm sure no one was surprised. I like that we got dialogue for some of the scenes from the flashbacks from way back.
These two were so cute.

I love how they were good friends. Lol, Obito trying to act all smooth and kitten, blushing "By helping me, it's like you're saving the world. And to do that... Well... You have to stay at my side and watch over me.. It's like.. You know..." Aww. ;u; it even ties into Itachi's words to Naruto - Obito would have been Hokage because he had Rin by his side, Minato became Hokage because he had Kushina by his side (and all the others), and finally Naruto will become Hokage because he has Sakura by his side.
And then Rin agreeing to watch over him. "It's a promise!" And Obito tearing up... The adorbs in this chapter. The way she acted when telling Obito not to act cool was very similar to the hospital scene where Sakura was healing Naruto's arm after using the Rasenshuriken. Rin wasn't afraid to scold Obito if he was over exerting himself, and she worried about him doing that, like Sakura does (especially in the war). They even share a promise like NS does (Sakura saying next time they'll be together, and POAL in a way). Even the way she was drawn, she looked like Sakura.
Even though we didn't get a direct parallel confirmation (and right now it seems like we might not even get it), I'm okay with that, cause Kishi made it even more obvious this chapter (though of course some will deny it...)
Anyway, I still don't like how Obito is giving up so easily but it's to be expected. Lmao @ Naruto mentioning Rin's famous line. I hope he mentions her more, hopefully along with Sakura... Naruto wants Obito to join them, but I wonder how the rest of the Alliance will feel about that. I mean, obviously they need all the help they can get but they won't be happy with Obito (who knows, they may even be a little irked at Naruto for letting him off so easy).
Looking forward to next chapter.
Oh, and @Darkrest
I see what you mean about Neji being placed on the same level as Rin was to Obito, how losing him was supposedly like losing Rin, and so on. Poor writing, but what are you gonna do.
There is a 19th page LOL
I didn't saw it at first I thought the 18th page was the last !
I was sure Naruto would say something like that in the future...
Soooooo if Naruto is talking about Rin directly, I think he will not talk about Sakura.
Or maybe next chapter ^^ but I don't think so.
Lmao, I didn't see that page, either. xD It said End on the eighteenth page so...! Plus this chapter was pretty long, I was surprised.
