Kind of a strange chapter, and I believe next week will be delayed, due to the typhoon.

So the rookie 9 are Naruto's tails....wasn't that implied through the very beginning of the manga, you know...like the pilot? Also Naruto created the rasengans way before the rookies entered it, so no they do not have rasengans. He seems he just needed someone to push them, and Kishi needed them to do something.

I don't think this is over just yet. Kakashi isn't present and Sakura was on the sidelines healing. It's cool that he used the rookies but ultimately, there's more in store and they likely won't have major contributions fron here on like Sakura. Also, it was kind of mehish imo... I don't mind her not being in that attack because she's obviously more when compared to them. I wonder what her roles gonna be. And where did the markings go??

Seems like he's gonna draw from the past again though. Here's to hoping we get some INTERESTING and juicy stuff soon!

Well I didn't expect this coming so soon. Never imagined the attack would literally land this time. Looks like I was right about Obito's time as the main antagonist ending after all.

And at least we've got an explanation of why Kakashi was aware of the events despite being in an alternate dimension.

again proud that Kishimoto didn't make Sakura one of Naruto's kittenies as he did with K11.

Pretty much. This chapter made it even clearer which characters are more plot relevant. It is safe to assume that Sakura and Sasuke have a special meaning in the story and a special place in Naruto's heart, while everyone else who joined his "tails" are considered equally as his friends.

Meh chapter.

Lol @ Kakashi being a narrator again. K11 helping Naruto out, that's cool I guess. Obito's imagination of an alternate future were probably the highlight of the chapter. He looked so serious and solemn during those scenes though lol.

At first I was just a little sad that Sakura didn't help Naruto out too, but I'm all right with it now, because there's a reason she didn't. Aside from her needing to maintain Katsuyu as a healing platform, she's being set apart from the rest of Naruto's friends. She's special.

It does seem like Obito's reign is coming to an end. I just hope Kishi does it RIGHT, not half-assed. And the OR parallel could come in soon, from the looks of the 'alternate future' scenes.

I suppose that's the new nickname of the K11: Naruto's kittenes. :lmao:

This will probably be my first Wednesday morning that I've had a good night's sleep in awhile. :twitch: Glad I didn't stay up for this crap. So Obito got cut in half? Good. That's very good. But I doubt he's finished, seeing as the Bijuu-Susanoo hasn't even done anything yet (Maybe that's reserved for Madara?).Hopefully we're done with him by the end of this volume. Also, those panels of Obito as Hokage made me burst out laughing. Like, stop it Kishi.

Sakura: Though I'm glad Sakura didn't join the vanguard, or Naruto's so-called "minions" in their assault, I'm still just a little disappointed that she isn't getting in on the action. At least there's a reason for her not to be this time but, "Go Everyone!" Ughhhhh....Anyway, since there's nothing in her arsenal (that I'm aware of) that could do much against Obito/Madara, the next relevant thing for her plot-wise I could actually see happening is the Rin parallel. And what's that going to consist of again? Her death, her near-death, her needing to be saved (again), or....

The chapter wasn't amazing, but it was alright. It's easier to think it's great because of all the bad chapters we've had..

But I really liked that even with Kakashi's cheesy thoughts all over the place, it did not slow down the action, unlike what has happened before.

I thought Rin would be alive in Obito's flashback? Makes me think she'll have an individual role in this, instead of a part of the group.

Naruto has a very small adam's apple, but it's an adam's apple nonetheless! :P

In the last few pages something looks like DNA..? lol

Why did the rookie attack work? I thought only senjutsu works, but even if Naruto is in SM he can't apply that energy to anyone else. :/ I also think it makes sense that Lee can use ninjutsu now, because Naruto is the one controlling it. Or else they couldn't have the chakra cloak at all.

And Iruka looks a bit old? He's supposed to be 4 years younger than Kakashi/8-9 years old then.

"The bond with one's friends is the one to win."

Sakura was left out because she's more than just a friend to Naruto. She fills a different kind of hole in his heart, that's why Kishimoto had her stay back while the K11 jumped in to help. Of course, he's cloaking this by having her maintain Katsuyu's summon with Tsunade, but just wait and see. There's no other reason why he would have everyone and Sai help Naruto and not include Sakura.

it's the third of volume 69

Thanks XD

I want to share my thoughts for how things could possibly go for the upcoming chapters.

First of all, from how this chapter ended, I think there's two possibilities for Obito:

1: Obito is injured and can't fight like before, but not defeated.

2: He's weak and on the ground, but still conscious.

I don't think he's completely defeated cause he needs to solve the Rin issue and Madara has to attack him like he said.

If ( 1 ) happened then either Obito will show us that he still got something up in his sleeves and will fight maybe for a chapter or chapter and a half. Next it's TnJ time that is related to Sakura. Once TnJ finishes, I think that where Madara will attack him. We may get then a chapter or a half one focusing on Obito. Obito may be dead or not. Afterwards, Madara will get like one to three chapters with the tree for the plan to be activated. Finally Madara is down, possibly with Obito's help by surprising Madara with an attack or a trick, and what's left I don't know what to think of much.

Or, Obito will get TnJ directly next chapter and the rest is the same from the latter which same goes for ( 2 ).

The above depends on if Madara won't be taken down with Obito which I still really don't think that he'll be taken down with Obito. He's not easy and won't go down all of a sudden with Obito, and all of them won't be left with the tree alone. I think there will be a combination of the tree and Madara difficulty... But, Kishi can still want him to be taken down with Obito by expanding Obito's fight and both of them will lose at the same time with the tree also. It's still a good possibility.

This is what I think for now. My thoughts can be changed from what next chapters might show us.

"The bond with one's friends is the one to win."

Sakura was left out because she's more than just a friend to Naruto. She fills a different kind of hole in his heart, that's why Kishimoto had her stay back while the K11 jumped in to help. Yes, Sakura will have an emphasis of her own. This chapter is clear enough that it will lead to that.

Am I the only one that felt like Kishi was trying to lighten the weight of "friends" this chapter? Obito saw an imagination of himself being surrounded by friends and becoming the Hokage in the end. He didn't look satisfied or happy at all. It looked like Rin was too important for Obito to be replaced by his "friends". I'm sure Kishi was trying to emphasize the importance of friends, but they didn't look important at all in Obito's flashbacks. While I was reading that part, I had a feeling that Obito still has an irreplaceable hole in his heart.

And I laughed this chapter at the awkwardness of K9 flying inside Naruto's tail. I laughed at Kishi's attempts to try and make them 'shine' by using Naruto's rasengan. It was funny. Nice try Kishi, but they don't really shine.

Me too, but most important it's mostly due to the lack of objective.

Obito asked what Naruto is fighting for and the only thing Naruto asnwered until now is "not giving up".

He's irritated that he's feeling and imagining that he could have had a good life instead of this one now. Cause he's so blinded by what he thinks of this world that he's shown that, on the contrary, he could have had a good life.

It's his believes are shown to him that they're not right.

Naruto looks like he lacks an objective too. "Not Giving Up" is not really an objective. Do you think Obito might be frustrated with Naruto's lack of answers?

I don't mean about the present. I mean about the imagination. He doesn't look happy in his own imagination which is supposed to be a 'good life'. Which leads me to believe that, even if he continued that path it won't be 'good' enough for him. But that's only how I felt reading that scene.

Sorry. He wasn't that happy cause Rin's incident has affected him, but he's still shown happy with his friends when the panels of his friends and him seeing them. But, if he wouldn't thought the way he thinks now, he would be having a good life with his friends around him and be successful. All of this, he would be still in the right track and there will still be happiness for him if he didn't thought wrong after Rin's incident and Madara didn't brainwash him.
