Why do we have this limit on how many posts we can like? There are a lot more I'm seeing that I feel deserve a like, but I can't give it to them now.

I agree. Would it be possible to remove this entire 'like' system? Maybe remove the 'no of likes the member has' that is displayed on our profiles?
My suggestion is, instead of the 'like' button, give us a 'recommend' button. There should be no limit on the number of posts that members can recommend. To make things fair, the number of recommends a member gets need not be added up and displayed on our profiles.

Why do people NOT ship these two? I just don't get it.
Probably cause they hate Sakura. When she's probably the most developed female character in the whole show.
I respect Hinata, but Sakura deserves some too.

Nah. I like liking other posts. But I agree with zacrathedemon5. I want to like other people's posts but I can't! I think there should be an unlimited supply of likes we can give. It would be much easier to be honest.
Well, its basically the same. Instead of 'liking' you would be 'recommending' posts. Even guests should be given the power to recommend posts. This system is the most used on websites where hundreds of page-visits is expected, like the national newspaper sites for example.
If there is no limit to the number of 'likes' a member can give, then it would make the system pretty skewed. To fix this, the 'likes' a member gets should not be added up and displayed.

I'm always iffy on change, but when you put it that way I guess it doesn't sound like a bad idea..

I'm no expert on forums however I believe its a type of flood control. Again I'm no expert so I could be wrong

Many a times, it so happens that....we have unconfirmed spoilers which may or may not be true or may or may not be confirmed later. So what I want to put forward is, unless the spoilers are confirmed why not keep it in the chapter thread? Once they are confirmed we sure can have a new thread for that. Sometimes, the spoilers have the tendancy to spark a debate and later they are confirmed to be false and then everything turns to nothing. So I think that the debate should be kept in the debate and chapter threads only instead of going into the spoiler thread. So when the spoilers are confirmed to be true, we sure can have a thread for that. This is just what I think.
Once again, thanks a ton @KnS for giving me an opportunity to put forward my suggestion

First of all, Thank you KnS for granting me the permission to put my suggestion. Secondly, here I begin XD

You're very welcome to ask questions and post your opinion. That's why this thread is here. Use it any time.
Now, as for your question/suggestion, the answer is simple. The reason spoilers -- whether they might be fake or turn out to be confirmed -- are just that... they are spoilers. A lot of users don't want to see spoilers. They might visit the forum to see if the new chapter is out, and click on the current chapter thread, and find information that ruins the surprise for them. That's not fair to them.
That's why we want spoilers to be clearly marked, placed behind cuts, and posted in their own thread. That way users who want to talk about spoilers can in the designated area but without unnecessarily or accidentally spoiling people who don't want to be spoiled.
This has been a long-standing rule here at H&E. Even on the first page of a new chapter thread all posts should be behind a spoiler tag. That way people who click on the thread to get a link to the chapter don't see spoilers before they can read the chapter for themselves.
I hope this makes sense.

Yes! I see where you come from. This is a point to be considered as well. But then, why not put the spoilers in the cut on the original chapter thread and then move it to the spoiler thread when they are confirmed to be true?

what's the difference between a kage, and an ANBU on the forum/site? is the kage the admin, and ANBU the board moniters? just wondering lol.

No problem. Questions are good.
The reason why we don't want even unconfirmed spoilers on the current chapter thread is because what if they are later confirmed? Then users end up spoiled for the new chapter.
Unfortunately, many users are very poor at remembering to use the spoiler tag. And even if the person posting the potential spoilers remembers to use a tag, people who comment on the contents of the spoiler don't put their remarks behind a cut and then again, users end up spoiled for the new chapter.
There's just no compelling reason to run the risk of spoiling people when those who want to discuss fake and/or confirmed spoilers can do so in a thread made for that exact purpose. Using the current chapter thread gains nothing for the spoiler folks, but can easily ruin the surprise of a new chapter for non-spoiler folks.

It is spelled enrolment in the UK -- you know, where Smiter -- the nice guy who pays for this site and maintains it for you -- lives.

/\ in the build of the site, there are some feature we have our hands tied on. This is one of them. As far as I know, every user gets ten likes a day.
If you're running through your allocated ten each day, then take some time and make a reply...like we did back in the stone age when we didn't have this feature.
This has come up a lot, but I'm really not to inclined to want to change it. I think ten is a good amount. If it were in the 100s or unlimited, people would be throwing "likes" around like candy off a parade float. It would lessen the value of the "like" and it would be way easier for people to be less involved and skip over sharing their thoughts and responses.

Oh. Sorry I didn't know...
I guess it's okay then. I thought it was some typo

Well what about just 20 a day? 10 is a pretty small amount...

Again, there's nothing we can do. It's built into the system. Ten is the limit.
It may be that future upgrades will allow us to add more. But for the foreseeable future, ten a day is it.
