Well, the only development that Zuko and Katara had was Zuko's plot to kill her, her entire tribe, and Aang, and Katara's unending hatred near to the end of the series of Zuko's constant snake-in-the-grass tactics and the fact that he is a fire-bender, one of the people that killed her mother. And also, Zuko tried to kill her and Aang when she openly offered to perma-heal his facial scar, and nearly succeeding in doing so by allowing his blood-thirsty sister to strike him so crucially in the Avatar state that the Avatar was nearly eliminated from the world entirely.
Kind-a hard to imagine that pairing getting off the ground.
Anyways, am I the only one here that deeply despises Bolin for the sheer fact that he acts like 90% of Rob Schneider's side-character roles/his role in Judge Dredd? The tough-talking but thin-skinned and dim-witted horn-dogging dip that struts a strut that he can't back up without someone stronger backing him up? The series creator can give him the best background and most nuanced character-biography in the world, and I will still hate him.

While I don't share your level of pessimism, I do see a lot of room for improvement in Bolin's character. However, it is just the very start of the series. Katara's skills were practically nonexistant in the first three episodes of ATLA, and look at where she ended up. Mako has already shown that he is capable of creating lightning. It's entirely plausible that Bolin will be able to develop into a metal bender. More than that, I think he's going to really step out from being under the wing of his big bro and find strength in his desire to protect his friends.

I agree

He looks fearful and nervous in dangerous situations. I thought he could just throw rocks, then he created a wall. Pretty good, but I want to see more.

Amon is more interesting and (from what little info we have of his past) has a better motive. The audience can sympathize with his goals; bottom line is the guy wants non-benders to live without fear of benders oppressing them and to have the same privileges they do. He's just going about it in a not-so-nice way. What I hope happens is that Korra will realize that the equalists have a point and strive to bring equality but doing it in a way that shows Amon that his methods aren't the right ones.

well ya, it pretty much is, since the latest episode was full of moments, and not to mention the trailer.

Bolded, italicized, and underlined for truth.

I see these moments as "supposed to be caused by humorous randoms and accidents, but there is something behind it that will be covered up."
That's why it's not too fast, because they didn't do anything with a romantic purpose.

I actually disagree with the Zuko resemblance. Mako seems to be turning into a much different character than Zuko, especially since it's the beginning of the series. Both characters started off in immensely different ways, and, frankly, behave differently too.

I wasn't referencing personality similarities, but looks. I never said Zuko/Mako were the same character personality-wise. I was referring to their similar appearance. And you can't tell me that they do not look alike. Heck, Mako is even a firebender just...like...Zuko was.

Alright, I can agree with that. I must have misunderstood, then.
