I think the Wii U looks pretty cool. At first I was kinda like, lol wut? But after seeing all the different ways it could be used, I thought it was pretty interesting. Since things like the ipad are really popular, it would make sense to make such equipment for gaming consoles as well. Because of that, I feel it is probably a step in the right direction. Hopefully games will make good use of it.

That's so amusing though. I have to say this years E3 has probably been the better then the last few years. A lot of games I'm looking forward to. The psv still owning! Can't wait to get one of those and the price is just perfect. The only problem with E3 though, it always makes wish these games were out right now.

Not really seeing the funny side, everyone pretty much knew that we were seeing the 360/PS3/PC version of the clips shown, Nintendo needed to show what games were coming for the console, and with dev kits not really being in the hands of the developers yet (or only getting to them recently) they had little choice but to use footage from other platforms.

I have no doubt they will look as good as the 360/PS3 versions if not slightly better, with the similarities between the 360 and WiiU it should be easy to port the games over.

Nintendo failed in one area though, they failed to outline their online gaming strategy, it's what is driving the hardcore gaming community and as far as everyone knows, we are just going to get a slightly upgraded version of the Wii Network...or whatever it is.

Nintendo somehow need to get the hype machine going...they don't normally attend the Tokyo Game Show, so the next 12 months will be difficult for them, as they didn't quite get the same buzz going as Sony did with the ViTA, specially as one of the first thoughts for many people was not how cool the streaming tach is but if it would be possible to do the same thing on PS3 and Vita. If Sony come uot in a few weeks saying the Vita will be able to stream PS3 games on the console with no noticable lag, Nintendo will be screwed as their biggest selling point will be their competiters biggest selling point. I know i'd rather pay £200 on the Vita, and get streaming from my PS3 than pay £300 or whatever the selling price is for the WiiU.

Nintendo has my attention with the Wii U. But I want some actual gameplay running on their system and an online gaming setup outlined. I mean.. online gaming with Wii was mediocre at best.

Sony has my wallet this year.

Microsoft has the smallest slice of the wallet pie for me.

If I were to get the Wii U, the only way I would get it is if I'm guaranteed at least five decent games.

I'm confident Wii U will have a new online infrastructure for hardcore gamers in mind. When i watched their conference it left me with the impression that they knew "we have to change to match the competitors and then some". They seemed to acknowledge the types of games majority of the people are playing now and the diection the future is headed for gaming "online". It's going to be hard for Nintendo to reach out to the hardcore gamers community but i think next year we're going to see a slight change in Nintendo's advertisement and marketing campaign to help convince the hardcore gamers. Then again it might not change.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see why it's a good thing that Nintendo is now making a home console system that's graphically on par with other systems that's been out for at least five years now. So say all of you are right and next year or whenever the Wii U comes out and it's amazing, 1080p, mirroring the titles that the PS3 and 360 have perfectly.

So what happens when the ps4 comes out and the new x-box system comes out that will leave both the ps3 and the 360 in the dust. I mean it has happened 3 times so far, I don't see why the pattern should stop now. I mean the I know Nintendo doesn't have a problem with throwing out new handheld systems every other year but I don't see the Wii U as a step in the right direction.

Yeah, and it looks nice. But please tell me you're not going to warrant the purchase of an entire new system just because of that sole game. I mean I think I have a legitimate point though. I don't understand why Nintendo just doesn't put its all into the system the first go 'round. Instead of doing enough to stay inside the bracket of each new generation of systems.

I mean it's going to be hell, for Nintendo fans when they sunk their money into the new Wii U and then a week later X-box Infinity gets released, with PS4 right on it's heels.

You should know the reason for the Wii to be popular is because of the playing system, actually, the playing system is pretty much the only advantage the Wii have, but since I don't really like sport games, or this more family oriented games, the Wii kinda of passed unnoticed to me, altought I fell bad for not be able to play no more heroes.

Even the Kotaku writers think Nintendo is too late in the console war for HD gaming. That's what MS and Sony already do well enough... and the Wii is the only console this gen to get a successor.
