This chapter is proof of SasuSaku. Sakura knows about Naruto's feelings and has still chosen Sasuke over him. NaruSaku cannot happen.

NaruSaku is far from dead. This chapter did add some ammo to the SasuSaku and NaruHina people, but don't say that NaruSaku is dead until the pulse stops. This is far from stopping NaruSaku's pulse; it already has far more support and development than it does arguments against it.
SasuSaku is not canon just because Sakura thought of Sasuke at that point. Are they together? No. So it isn't canon, and is far from ever becoming canon. Why? Sasuke tried to kill her, has done even worse things, and is on a road that he can never return from. Even if Sakura is willing, Sasuke won't ever be.
Let me clarify something here: I do not believe that Sakura has EVER loved Sasuke. All that I've witnessed is her having a childish, fangirlish crush on the popular boy. It's obvious now that she still thinks she "loves" him, but what she's feeling is not love. She's feeling the remains of that past crush and a strong friendship bond with him; she has a lot of stuff going on in her life right now (including relationship confusion) and she's not able to organize her thoughts...
Although, I will admit, it just makes her look bad that she hasn't matured enough yet to realize that she's chasing a childish crush and former teammate/friend with the mentality that she "loves" him.

Hey there, long time lurker, first time poster. I was actually going so sign up just now, but then I realized that I had already made an account like 7 months ago, lol.

Anyway this chapter was a real downer for me. I, like many others, felt as if Sakura was really thinking about Naruto in the last chapter, and now it turns out she was actually thinking of Sasuke.

There are multiple ways in which this can be interpreted. Either she still loves Sasuke regardless of everythings he has done, or she still loves him, but is ashamed/confused about it.

Also, it won't matter how one sided that moment with Hinata was. I reckon most NH and SS fans are having a ball right now, celebrating the death of NS while drinking champagne and dancing merrily around the campfire.

Of course, If you know anything about Kishimoto you would know that he likes to troll, especially when it comes to pairings. Even if it is true that Sakura still loves Sasuke, that doesn't automatically mean that NH and/or SS is going to happen. Not unless Sasuke suddenly starts having feelings for Sakura and Naruto starts having feelings for Hinata.

All it means is that:
Sakura still loves Sasuke.
Naruto still loves Sakura.
Hinata still loves Naruto.
Naruto doesn't love Hinata.
and Sasuke doesn't love anyone.

So nothing has changed really.

All in all, I'll still stick with NaruSaku. Like somone else already mentioned, this is just a minor bump in the road. The way I see it, we've simply got another 469 on out hands.

Sakura is the only person of the unrequited sides of the relationships (Naruto ->Sakura, Hinata->Naruto, and Sakura->Sasuke) that has shown any, let alone multiple, signs of having romantic feelings for the requited side of the relationship.

but yeah i agree with your last comment. the manga is called NARUTO! people not Hinata or sasuke but NARUTO!!

Did you see her expression when she thought of Sasuke? It was full of sadness. I do think she still loves him, but she feels guilty about it. And I also believe she loves Naruto, too. It's pretty much a proven fact since Kishimoto said she was being completely honest during her confession. She hasn't chosen ANYONE. What you fail to consider is that there is no 'canon' pairing in Naruto. At least not yet. Every pairing still has a chance and we will just have to wait and see, I suppose.

Now she may be full of sadness, but that's because she knows Sasuke has been manipulated by Madara and isn't exactly a good guy right now (not his fault). Naruto is going to save him though, so he will be back to normal by the end of the manga.


Sakura may be an honest girl, but even honest people aren't perfect. She lied about no longer loving Sasuke. You can't deny that even if you think Kishi was referring to the confession when he said she was an honest girl.

Sakura knows how Naruto feels about her, but just isn't interested.

So I was definitely depressed after reading the spoilers for this chapter. I'm definitely more wary though, and less confident than I was before, but reading the posts here definitely made me feel better.

You guys have brought up great points, and it makes me feel better to see cooler heads prevailing.

I agree with Twilight's post (in the spoiler thread) the most. I really hope that this is the start of Sakura confronting her muddled feelings and firmly getting over whatever feelings she still has lingering for Sasuke.

If there is one thing that I loved about this chapter, its that Sakura was badass. She was intelligent, cool headed, and completely confident in her actions. She was amazing and we need to see more of that Sakura!

Yes, Sakura currently has romantic feelings for Sasuke (whether they are merely lingering or strong is unclear and could be argued either way). However, she doesn't look happy about it at all. Despite believing in Naruto and Sasuke at the end of the summit, her faith restored, she is not happy with the fact that she is in love with Sasuke.

Sakura may be an honest girl, but even honest people aren't perfect. She lied about no longer loving Sasuke. You can't deny that even if you think Kishi was referring to the confession when he said she was an honest girl.

Sakura knows how Naruto feels about her, but just isn't interested.

Sakura was willing to sacrifice her own happiness to ensure Naruto's - she's constantly placed Naruto and his well being over both herself and Sasuke.

Naruto's reaction to Hinata's confession, completely ignoring her and never thinking of the confession again, is what not interested looks like.

Sakura's situation is more complicated.

Sasuke has NOT been manipulated by Madara to do the things he's done. Stop using that as an excuse. Everything Sasuke has done has been of his own choice and will, Madara has not manipulated him into any of it.

sasuke was never a great guy to Sakura thats the point. even when he was good.

and its confirmed AFTER Hinatas confession Naruto truly loves Sakura hes closest friend the one who give him strength. Hinata knows Naruto loves Sakura chapter 450 and shes happy for them. fact!

And Sasuke's position right now is ABSOLUTELY his fault. Until Kishi says 'O ACTUALLY YOU GUISE, MADARA INJECTED SASKAY WITH...UM..THIS THING THAT MADE HIM WANT TO BE BAD SO IT'S NOT HIS FAULT, KK?' We are all going to assume Sasuke is being bad at will.
And we don't know Sasuke's fate. We don't know how the manga will end. Who knows, he may even die. So you cannot say he will return to Konoha normal again.
And, yes, honest people are not perfect. But she still was HONEST. Which means she was not lying when she said she loves Naruto.

Why yes, yes of course, that is very true. That wasn't the point i was trying to get across. My point is that even if it turns out that Sakura STILL loves Sasuke, that just means that, overall, nothing has really changed since part 1.

But yes, in terms of mutual development, NaruSaku is definetly one of the most developed pairings in the entire manga.

Honestly, if Kishimoto decides NOT to go with NaruSaku, then he'd better damn well make sure that whatever pairing he DOES choose to go with gets equal or more development. Everything else would just be bad writing on his part.

But of course that won't happen. Afterall, this is primarily an action manga. He's not that stupid, that he would shoot himself in the foot like that.
