Lol... Anyone who actually believes Sony will give suitable compensation is either incredibly naive or painfully optimistic(I guess those go hand in hand though). Didn't they mention something else in addition to the month of PS+ though ? I thought they had mentioned something about a free download... I may be suffering from withdrawals though so I wouldn't take my word for it.

Oh honey, you know how stubborn I am ;p
This article is confusing. Sony says end of the month so another site says May 31st and Sony says no? I'm confused.

You're not stupid...(I wasn't really replying to you exclusively anyways you were just the newest post that stated the information was confusing) It's genuinely confusing the way the information is being released. The news articles have contradicting statements. That's why it's best to read the official statement(from the PSN blog or other direct sources from Sony) before reading any news article.

X Box Live, you have to pay, not worth it, and if they hack that to then everyone who uses it has taken a lost, in they're credit cards.

There are prepaid cards for service and points if you don't want to use your credit card, from 1 month to 12 months. 12 months cost about $50 but it is worth it. Especially if it is a Christmas gift.

PSN isn't up yet though. They're just preparing it. Still, good news.
