Hinata Hyuga: Opinion and Character Analaysis

1. Hinata does use "kun" with more than Naruto. It's doesn't give it as special of a meaning, if you ask me, when she says Naruto-Kun. Naruto only uses "chan" with Sakura.
2. Hinata is working with Neji to change the Huyga clan. If her father is noticing Hinata, there must have been a dramatic change for this considering how low he looked at Hinata.
Hinata is probably doing this because of Neji. Naruto has had an influence on Hinata and Neji to make them want to co-operate. It was Neji, afterall, who help train Hinata and accept her. Because Neji is seen in high regards from Hirashi for his natural talent, if Neji took time to train her, he was probably bound to notice Hinata eventually. To me, Neji has played the biggest part in changing the future of the Hyuga clan while Hinata had accepted him from the beginning as an equal which made it easier for him to move forward. Hinata is just naturally kind in spirit and nature so she probably never seen or felt herself being higher than Neji or anyone else. Not to mention Neji seems protective of Hinata, defending and saving her.
From my own opinion, I only started to dislike Hinata with the "holding hands" portion of the war. I did not find that motivational. When Neji was knocked out from overusing his power, Hinata only thought of one thing: Naruto. :\ What about Neji? Yes, we see her changing things with Neji in the Hyuga clan but honestly, I think she is putting Naruto above Neji even though Neji has done so much more for her. (Now I am sounding like a NejiHina fan.....but I am not really). Hinata fans want Naruto to notice Hinata more because of her support for him but they never take into account how much Neji has probably done for Hinata and throw Neji on the back burner. Without Neji, Hinata probably wouldn't be as strong as she is today.
I like Neji. Hes changed a lot and deserves to be the head of the Hyuga clan.

I don't think its Hinata I dislike but her fan base. They are so rude and wont shut up about their OTP being canon...Canon is defined as something that has happend does it not? The only canon pairings in Naruto right now are Kushina and Minato, Kurenai and Asuma and Tsunade and Dan. NaruHina is not canon
Another reason why I'm not fussed about her character is because she has had very little character development (slim to none actually). I thought that maybe in part to she would gain more confidence (but still be shy) Buckle her ideas together and finally start to train to become head of the Hyuuga household and just try and concentrate on something other then Naruto...Boy I was wrong. She has hardly developed as a person, shinobi or love interest. The only things that have changed about her is her breast size, her hair, height and clothes...other than that NOTHING T_T
I also find that the NH pairing was only created because SasuSaku fans couldn't think of who to put Naruto with. So I'm guessing thy said "kitten it! He can have Hinata!"
I actually started of liking NaruHina this was after the chuunin exams and it looked like SS and NH would be the final outcome, even so I still prefered/and still do NaruSaku)
Hinata seems to be a pairing foder to me...she's not exactly brought up by fans until it includes the words "Hinata loves Naruto more" or "Sakura is a b*tch who should die alone and Hinata should make loads of white eyes Hyuuga babies with Naruto"
Am I the only one who finds NH to be a crack pairings due to all the fillers? I really hope Naruto doesn't end up with Hinata, and if he were too. I'd prefer them to at least have the same development as NaruSaku. Because right now NS is the most logical and the best in my opinion

POSITIVE: Hinata gained a little bit more confidence in herself. Nothing explict; she still is insecure and frets over many things pretty easily but she had enough confidence to confess her affection for Naruto to him and pursue a relationship with him. Can you honestly picture Part 1 Hinata doing any of these things?
NEGATIVE: Hinata doesn't seem to hold acknowledgement from her father as much as she once did or even seems to think about being the head of the Clan and make herself useful. Instead, Hinata views being with Naruto much more important given her "I'll hold your hand and walk with you" speech. Gives off the impression of being shallow and petty if you ask me. It also implies that Hinata doesn't feel she could be worthy of anything else unless she wins Naruto's heart.
Those are her changes from Part 1. And the negative aspect shows up a little more than her new confidence.

I agree with the first part. For one, she seems more confident when it comes to Naruto, seeing as she's finally trying to win his love. For the most part, she's still shy and not confident, but when her loved ones are in danger, I think she becomes more confident. Basically, I think Hinata becomes confident when it really matters.
I don't think Kishimoto was trying to make her look shallow and petty in that scene. Just that she cared about Naruto and that she's finally going to try and pursue him now. Besides, I don't think we should criticize her too much based on just a thought. I don't know, but it reminds me of people bashing Sakura for thinking something like, "I'm trying to make Naruto feel better when I'm the one who needs cheering up."
However, I am 100% certain that if Sakura had said, "This war is for Naruto," she would have been bashed A LOT. I would definitely not agree with that bashing, therefore I'm not going to be mad at Hinata for saying that.
(This next part isn't directed at you specifically).
The thing is, besides being the blossoming wallflower, the point of her character is to be the love interest of Naruto. Therefore, Kishimoto doesn't show her doing much else besides showing concern and love for Naruto and slowly but steadily gaining confidence in herself. It would definitely be nice seeing her focus on the clan and stuff, but you've gotta remember that she barely shows up anyway.

I get the point you're making, but please forgive my need to make a slight correction. Hinata is not Naruto's love interest. Sakura is Naruto's love interest. Naruto is Hinata's love interest. Perhaps a small distinction but a very important one.
For my part, I would describe Hinata's purpose as a means of providing romantic complication to the uncertainty of Naruto and Sakura's relationship, and to prove that Naruto has the capacity to be attractive to other girls.

I believe Malverstation made a great point and you didn't acknowledge her post. The moment Hinata say that this war is for Naruto, her cousin or brother as she calls him was chakra exhausted he was even losing his eye sight and all what she had in her mind was Naruto and a flashback moment in her mind with him.
Tell me how will you feel if Naruto was completely drained out on lying on the floor very weak with Sakura saying that all what matter is saving Sasuke, or all I can think of is saving Sasuke with a flashback of the thank you scene or her fangirling moment? Or you forget that Sakura was bashed for saying that all she have left now is to believe in them or when she say that she can finally see team 7 smiling again when Naruto just said that he was planning to die with Sasuke and Sasuke just say that he will kill Naruto and then Konoha people.
Sakura was criticized and it was deserved, so the fact that Hinata gets criticism for thinking about Naruto 24/7 and nothing else, is also deserved.

Well he is making her shallow and a bit self-involved in that particular scene. That's why it upset me so much because I expected her character development to get better after her confession, not worse . I'm not a Hinata hater but thinking about pursuing a relationship with Naruto in the middle of a war seems out of place and unnecessary don't you think? If Naruto thought that about Sakura, I'd be thinking the same thing. Same with Sakura with either of her love interests ( Naruto, Sasuke).
I guess it's not a huge surprise. She is a Satellite Character and pairing fodder when it comes to Naruto but it did affect her character negatively. If her inner monologue was anything like Sakura's, than a big for her. And why would people bash Sakura for that thought? Sakura was just being her typical generous self when it comes to Naruto.
She doesn't but thinking about her Clan instead of relationship issues would make her character much more mature and admirable. It reminds me of Sakura fangirling over Sasuke when she should be focusing on her ninja skills in Part 1. I'm annoyed by both of these events for the same reason.
