We all know the reason he likes her is not because of the stupid rivalry. They're ruining his character with this statement. That's why I don't believe any of it. Would he have made that promise if it was just because of a rivalry? It's a POAL. So, uh, no. I believe that he honestly likes her. It's just way too OOC of him.

Absolutely I agree with you there 100%. I'm just saying if that BS is true then it makes him look terrible, and I'll lose all respect for him as a character.

 

The real question here... why would Sasuke care?

I don't even think he has an answer... this movie was probably random ideas all thrown in a hat and then worked around to have it try and make any sense

A difference though is that Jellal <---> Erza is not one sided.  They're both crazy nuts about each other, but Jellal has Too Many Issues and thinks he doesn't deserve Erza, and Erza is wise enough not to push him too hard, too fast.

 

So their incredibly romantic almost-kiss was far less cheesy and more believable.  You know that if Jellal wasn't a wuss (and Ultear and Meldy and everyone else wasn't watching them) that they'd have totally been making out for hours after that scene.  

 

I don't believe Hinata can keep from passing out for more than a few seconds.

Which kinda begs the question why she isn't passing out in that kiss scene. She seems pretty OOC there too, as we know for a fact she hasn't changed one bit in all the years that she has known Naruto. She is still the same girl and Naruto is still the same guy, totally oblivious to her. Kishi, and everyone involved in this movie, should know that romance can't move this quickly. It feels completely unnatural, and they have to have a lot of retcons, asspulls, and character assassinations to make it happen.

No matter what this BS movie tries to pull off, Good Naruto will always love Sakura. Not the fake love that Dark Naruto has for Hinata, real love.

Yes we must be kittening strong and survive this retcon NH/SS kitten. We have to prove that people will still ship NS and see it as the legitimate couple and the one that should've happened. We'll also still defend it ourselves and our beliefs.

I'm going to give Kakashi some slack on his words anyway since no one's words meant jack kitten. Not Sai's, not Yamato's, not Kushina's, not Minato's, and not Naruto's either. Kakashi is the only member of the main cast that I feel has any likeability anymore.
