Crazy Conspiracy Theory - The Last

 

There’s no doubt that Kishi has been building NS from the start of the series (more accurately Chapter 3). No doubt about it and it’s been consistent throughout the entire series (except for 699/700 but this conspiracy theory accounts for that).

 

Now, as much as Kishi likes this pairing, he’s met with a dilemma. People are not liking Sakura and NS while popular in Japan isn’t as popular as SS. So what do you do? You know you’re making your last movie. You know it’s going to finalise the pairings, however as much as you want to make it all about NS, if you do, you lose a major part of your audience. You have to come up with something that satisfies all of your fandom. So what do you do? Easy, fan service. If you give every pairing some sort of fan service, you might just avoid their wrath. But how do you do something like this if you want to keep NS? How can you simultaneously build NS while giving fan service to other pairings? You need to give fanservice but not completely destroy NS (though I admit, this wasn’t done very well).

 

Well first you’ve got to focus on NS. So what do you do? You eliminate the obstacles, SS and NH. How? 693 for SS. Conclude that Sasuke has no interest in Sakura, that Sakura is trying to save Sasuke but she doesn’t want to be his lover. She’s not the same person (although I don’t say how particularly well this was done since I don’t know Japanese and the raws would’ve been the best indication on where everyone stands on their feelings). But now you’ve got a problem. How are you going to give SS fans their fanservice? That’s where 699 comes in. Dedicated to SS for the most part. It’s got the forehead poke but no real romantic gestures. Why? That would totally kill NS. If you still want to keep NS, you can’t do that. So now SS is dealt with, what to do with NH?

 

With NH you dedicate the movie to Hinata getting closure on her feelings for Naruto. You can’t have a real kiss because that could destroy NS, so how do you deal with this? Genjutsu. Plain and simple. NH gets their fanservice. The movie is scattered with “NH moments” that are one-sided on Hinata’s part but you know NH fans, any Hinata à Naruto moment is automatically a Naruto à Hinata moment.

Now you’ve got chapter 700. It’s your epilogue. You have to keep NH/SS fans aboard for the movie but you have to be careful because you can’t destroy the real end pairing, NS. This is were the ambiguous moments come in. You use design choices/choice of words to influence your readers, you let them assume one thing and you know people, they believe whatever they want to believe, all you have to do is give them a reason to do so. You’ve got Salad, Sasuke’s daughter, calling Sakura “mama”. But you make sure to model her after her real parents because when the time comes and NS is revealed as canon, you’re going to have to explain it all. Now what do you do with NH? They’re both in the village so it’s going to be a little bit trickier. However you find a way. You make Himawari mention an older brother, but you don’t specifically say who it is. You give both Bolt and Himawari whisker marks, why? That’s basically all you need to make people assume they’re brother and sister. You also make sure that Naruto mentions no one but Bolt and that he has no family portraits anywhere. You also make sure not to make Bolt interact with any of his family besides Naruto. No interaction at all. But people will believe in NH because of your design choices.

 

Next, you open up the purchasing of advance tickets early. You entice people with promotional material they’ll receive if they pre-order. In this way, you lock down all those NH/SS fans early.

 

You also prepare an advanced sneak preview screening, making sure you get all the bloggers and reporters there, the people you know will spoil the film, and show them NH footage. Reaffirming NH’s importance in the film. You control the leaks by being the first to spread them though. You spread real spoilers mixed in with fakes. The real spoilers will be the ones you’ve shown in the footage, those who went to that screening, upon reading the spoilers will think it’s real because it includes the same footage they’ve already seen. They start spreading it and saying that they went to the full screening.

 

Once the movie is revealed to be NS, you get the other pairings to come see the movie. It’s also going to be well done so you get the normal fans to see the film. Are you worried about your new projects being affected by this ploy? Not really. When you think about it, most of the pairing fandom were in it for the pairings and may have not even gotten into Part 3. Furthermore, you’re separating the real fans from the pairing fans. If you do the movie really well, if you pull of this amazing twist, you’re going to go down in the history books. People are going to see your movie because it’s doing something that hasn’t been done before. Also, you get back at all those NH/SS fans that have threatened you in the past. It’s a win-win.

 

 

Now I know this sounds ridiculous, but again this is just a random stream of consciousness. Could be all some make-believe fantasy, some of it may actually be true. But I watch a lot of Castle and one thing I've learnt, is sometimes the craziest theories lead to the truth. Sometimes you've got to think outside the box.

On the contrary, it sounds ingenius. Very cleverly crafted and sneaky of Kishi to do. Providing for all of the pairing groups via misdirectional scenes and quotes from the movie sounds like a very reasonable approach to go about attracting as many people as possible. Road to Ninja utilised this marketing technique and it grossed the highest amount of revenue out of any movie in the franchise. I so, so hope that what you say pans out, Applesauce.

Oh okay. I was just scrolling through the movie website and saw it say that somewhere so I was wondering aha.

The score is beautiful It reminds me of the OST that played when Jellal and Erza kissed (well almost. It was interrupted Hiro is so much better at romance than Kishi )

In my opinion, as beautiful as it sounds, it just makes the entire scene way more corny.

 

And ending a movie with a zoomed out kiss is just so inconclusive.

The problem with Chatte's theories is that she assumes that a man who can't even remember events one chapter ago (i.e. Having Hashirama declare that Sasuke could persuade madara to change, only to literally forget this one chapter later) is actually smart enough to remember themes, events and points made over the course of hundreds of chapters and multiple data books. Or even basic character motivations introduced in the third friggin chapter of the manga (i.e. Naruto only liked Sakura due to his rivalry with Sasuke despite there being blatant dialogue to the contrary from Naruto himself).

This has more or less been my point that I've written about a lot over on NF since a bit after the Pain Arc. The man is a horrible creator.

That being said... the OST is tempting me to get back into attempting to get better at animating... I thought of a great NaruSaku thing for it. I'll just tell you my vision for now I guess haha.

 

Both Naruto and Sakura are walking separate ways thinking back on what they've just done and their adventures over the last couple years. Memories keep flashing back while they slowly stop walking and start standing there for a while. Suddenly they start slowly moving back toward each other as the memories keep piling up. Finally they start running towards each other before stopping to look at the other. Naruto finally telling Sakura how he truly feels with Sakura beginning to tear up. As Naruto wipes away her tears, she moves in and kisses him.

It is very clever and one heck of a plan.Trying to lure the pairing fans in this way is very clever.Rtn did use this kind of a tactic and it was very successful,it grossed as the highest.I hope that it turns out like this.

I still have some hope. I know everything seems to point in the direction of NH, but if these past few weeks have taught my anything, it's that anthing is possible with this series, for better or for worse.
