I have no doubts whatsoever that Sakura is there with Naruto while he's dying for an important reason, no matter if it's pairing-related or Sakura-related for her development (near-sacrifice maybe). I always thought this ever since I read Ch. 662. I had some concerns earlier that Kishi would have Gaara take Naruto to Sakura right away, but he did and look at the direction it's going. I originally believed Tsunade would have a place in this considering she's the second healer closest to Naruto, but instead you have Tsunade say she's out of chakra to heal any more. Why? It's not so much a logic reason since Tsunade's supposedly the greatest healer and can easily be seen healing again. That scenario with Sakura being the only one to heal seemed deliberate, wouldn't you say? That always told me something big is in store for Sakura now. I could just feel it when I saw that panel and even more so on the last panel.

I don't predict a Sakura death/sacrifice. It's not that I can't see Sakura doing that for Naruto, but I just don't know what she could do that makes that seem reasonable skills-wise. IMO, she doesn't have Chiyo's technique. Chiyo died so Sakura never got the chance to learn (I could see her asking to learn it, but it didn't happen).  What else does Sakura have? Wear out all her medical ninjutsu on Naruto until she dies? We know that won't bring Naruto back. Tbh, I don't even like that scenario anyway. If Sakura comes back with some other completely different jutsu that could save Naruto, then I'll be annoyed because it's too convenient and Kishi never showed us this on-panel. It's like my sometimes gripe with Sakura and her seal. If all her new abilities are off-panel, then that's about as bad as Sasuke's hawk summoning.

I still vote Minato will save Naruto, but I think Sakura has another purpose here. Other than to prove that Naruto's definitely in a critical situation (662 was for that use), I feel like she's going to get a epiphany in this. It can be character development but considering Naruto's dying, I think it will be related to her feelings for him. BakaNeko-Chan mentioned before she doesn't see how you can make that too ambiguous, but I think it can be done. All Kishi has to do is get some vague Sakura inner monologue about how she feels about Naruto dying or when he's brought back or not have her think anything at all and just have her actions speak louder than words. Seriously, with Kishi, I'm betting money on this route.

In the very last arc, I can Sakura's feelings still be kept ambiguous until Naruto's about to fight Sasuke. She'll confess to Naruto that she's sorry about her confession and how she didn't tell him the "truth" , but she realized that she truly loves him after he almost died. However, her issues with Sasuke still exist, so I think we'll probably have a full-blown Team 7 love triangle until the very end.

I may sound like a broken record with this argument, but it's the only realistic option I'm seeing. NH/SSs do have somewhat of a point when they argue why is she still confused over Naruto if she loves him this late in the series. However, that simply means we need a serious situation for her to get that wake-up call. If Sakura still doesn't know she loves Naruto after something like this, then something's wrong IMO.

I'm afraid you're right, but I think it's not only a shame but a big mistake.  To drag out Sakura's supposed confusion and final choice is the worst form of character bashing, in my opinion, and it will be purposely accomplished by her creator himself.  It totally sucks.

Love triangles are great and all, and they keep things interesting I suppose, but that's when an author actually gives his characters -- and therefore his readers -- something significant to go on.  Something realistic and tangible and compelling.  Something that sells the merits of a character's confusion and the rewards of going either way with the choice.

Kishimoto has done none of that.  What possible reason would Sakura have to want Sasuke as lover/life partner now?  There was embarrassingly little set up for their relationship from the beginning, and SS has had zero positive moments in the whole of Shippuuden.  ZERO.  And when all the negative moments are tallied, zero begins to look good.

I just don't get it.  Either write a damn reason for Sakura to still love Sasuke, or let her fully realize her love for Naruto and have some shred of dignity for crying out loud.  It's ridiculous.  Sakura is a smart, capable, motivated young woman.  There would be no other situation in which she would be this blind and self-destructive and be considered "in character."  So why make her so pathetic when it comes recognizing the obvious truth -- about Sasuke AND Naruto?

I mean, the writing has been on the freaking wall since #3.

Based on what we've seen in this series, it's hard to let go of your first love. It took Tsunade decades to finally give Jiraiya a chance, and it was only at the moment she thought that he was going to die when he left to go confront Pein. I can see something similar with Sakura. Naruto is on the verge of dying and something slips outta her mouth about her feelings for Naruto. Sakura's heart is still stuck on the old Sasuke. But I'm sure that'll change soon.

No chapter this week equals nothing much to talk about unless we just count the anime new episodes or how the blood prison dubbed is. It's a very big deal for us as ns fans right now for such a cliffhanger and the week break needed out of respect for Kishi, I mean the guy is doing his best to give us the story he thinks is best, it's just enough to be patient for the loss he recently had.

Anyone thinking this thread won't be anything soon, just wait till next week when it explodes again no matter the result.

Completely agree. The only reason Sakura's feelings for Sasuke are still even a thing at all is because Kishi wants to drag this love triangle thing for as long as possible, which is annoying and frustrating for several reasons (one being that imo it's OOC for Sakura, like you said).

And remember, Tsunade wasn't the only or even the biggest road block to their relationship. It took decades for Jiraiya to stop acting like a lecherous pervert. I think she would have fallen for him way earlier if he had cleaned up his act. But he masked his real caring and intergrity with womanizing and not staying in one place for too long.

Naruto could learn something from Jiraiya in that regard — not to wait too long to go after his true love. And not to put off his own happiness until after he's accomplished his own unreasonable goals (saving/keeping track of Orochimaru).

I like that Kishimoto has shown that there are some relationships where they recognize love and go towards it, and some relationships where they deny their own feelings in lieu of another goal.

And, if the story went the way Jiraiya's did, I think Naruto could easily go down Jiraiya's road, dedicating himself to overseeing Sasuke instead of settling down and having a happy family life in Konoha. (Even possibly denying his chance at being hokage, as Jiraiya did.)

(Not saying Naruto will, of course, just that there is a strong trait of self-denial in some of the characters, that to me is just as harmful as not even recognizing the love offered in the first place.)

When people say Sakura reminds them of a girl who keeps crawling back to her abusive boyfriend/husband, they kind of have a point. I can't argue with that statement much. Then again, it's also pretty realistic for the nice guy to finish last because girls seem to go after the jerks more for some reason.

Here is what i do find funny with 662 , its the thing that this chapter has more or less the same setup as  631. The fact that Sakura was conveniently put next to Naruto in both 662 and 631 without Hinata or Sasuke in the way tells me that this is gonna be big so i'm not worry about that . Plus the fact that 631 was more or less about reaffirming Naruto's feelings for Sakura , so if 631 was for Kishi to show us Naruto's feelings with the same setup as he did with 662 there is no doubt in my mind that this is also the setup for the reveal of Sakuras feeling for Naruto , he's kind of playing this thing in the reverse way now but now it will be Sakura's feelings that will be exposed instead of Naruto's , i can say i'm 99% sure about this 1% is for some kind of trolling which i doubt it will happen given this situation .

About Sakura's feelings for Sasuke . I have said this many times and i will say it again . The reason why i think that Sakura's feelings for him are false is because they are based on a illusion , basically she loves him yes but that love is based on a misinterpretation on who Sasuke really is/was even in  P1 . I'm referring to Chap.3 as whole here not just the forehead scene , in what light did she actually see Sasuke (Naruto) there ? Sasuke was always cold toward everyone but in that moment she saw him as this guy who looked at her with warmest eyes ever , complemented her forehead (the thing she hated the most about herself) , a guy who she was about kiss , and she said that he was  such a shy guy. Then reality comes back and happens what happens and i think more or less she blamed herself for the things that went were they went between them . Later as they were both a pat of T7 she begins to see that there is darkness/hatred in him (this is were FoD comes) and she refuses that this side of him even exist , the fact that she reached him there and the fact that he thanked her makes her believe that that Sasuke from Chap 3 is still there and that she can save him . Except that that Sasuke never ever existed he is based on a lie and it's just a mere illusion of hers . But now in P2 she came to accept that darkness of his and she doesn't like that person(540) and little by little she's starting to move on from him but still have some lingering feelings for him . I think going by this when Chap 3 will be addressed this's is were she will realize that the feelings she had for him weren't for him but for Naruto and that the Sasuke she think she knew doesn't exist and completely let goes of any little leftover feelings she harbored for him , and falls completely in love in Naruto . So she will realize that she loves Naruto before this but falls completely in love with him after this.

Seriously i can't see this manga finished without Kishi addressing Chap 3 ever again , it plays to much of a big role in the romance subplot in fact this is the chapter were the romance subplot begins . It would be also funny if the romance subplot ended by addressing the same chapter that stated it hehehe just something to think about  .

@KnS:

I cannot agree with you more. I do not understand Sakura's feelings for Sasuke whatsoever and my biggest complaint is that we were never given a reason for it. Caring for Sasuke is different. Naruto still cares for Sasuke and so can Sakura, but I can't understand how you can have attachment to someone romantically when they tried to kill you and it wasn't for a higher reason other than "You're in the way of my goals." :bash: It's not that I believe Sakura wants a relationship with him at this point. She has greater integrity than that, but it's clear she still has feelings for him and it's annoying as kitten. (excuse my language)

I understand it's supposed to hard for Naruto since he works for everything. I've accepted it, I get it. But Sakura still being confused at the final arc when Naruto's on his deathbed right now breaks my tolerance. That's bad writing and while I want NaruSaku to be canon, antis can forever say it makes no sense she didn't know she loved him when he was dying and y'know what? We can't say anything, we can't deny it. That way of writing irritates me and the sad part is I'd be agreeing with the antis about that aspect of NS. I don't doubt Sakura loves Naruto, but I want her realization to be believable.

To me, good writing is having Sakura come to an epiphany in this. It doesn't have to be "I know I love you more than Sasuke" but I'd appreciate it if she at least got a "I love Sasuke, but I love you too." That way Sakura still has a conflict and Naruto hasn't entirely succeeded because she wouldn't know who she loves the most and she's "conflicted". Perfect way to make things hard for Naruto, but then not have bad writing.

Nice guys don't finish last, unconfident guys finish last.

Girls that go after jerks either A) realize their mistake and look for an actual good guy or B) go back to them because they have issues (and you shouldn't even be bothered to date a girl with issues).

It's from the Pain arc after Naruto turns into the 6T Kyuubi and fires a BD at Pain and she's afraid of that power and with what she's seeing .

Yes i'm 100% sure i can't remember exactly which episode it is but its definitely from the Pain arc , as for the smooth part well it's anime they do make mistakes like this sometimes :zaru:  , but i think that this scene is some were between episodes 166,167 or 168 you can check it up if you want .
