Whoa. New playstation? It seems to be awesome! With all those new consoles and platforms coming out I wish I had money to buy them ALL! SERIOUSLY, this new playstation must be really good

Nah, its a online service, not a new console.

Anyway, I might get it afterall, for the free content.

I might too, at least try it first. Give my dad 50 bucks, since it's technically his card in my PSN. XD

Playstation Plus details.

Still no cross-chat, I guess....

Cross game chat was announced to be a PSN+ feature, it just won't be available at launch.
Now on XBL, in order to use party chat, everyone must be paying for a Gold service, but with PSN+, there only has to be one active user of that service in it, the rest can be regular members.

Here's a little bit more of an explanation of the service.

I notice how you don't have to buy two separate cards to purchase it like XBL... I love simplicity.

My underlined link led to the same link you just posted. wink.gif I'd like to know where you got verification that the cross-chat rumor was true when the blog itself didn't really confirm or deny anything?

It was mentioned at the press conference if you watched it, but later on the blog just stated that Cross game chat wouldn't be available at launch.
And oops, I didn't even bother clicking your link. Lol

Be on the look out for the PS3 3.40 firmware update coming out this month. It will prep our PS3's for the Plus subscription. Hopefully we'll get the Firefox web browser Sony and Mozilla partnered on with hopeful plug-in's, auto flash player update, and more files support to play all video types. happy.gif

Don't get your hopes up, all I've heard is that PSN+ will be launched when the firmware comes out and that's all I've heard that the firmware will have.
Comes out on the 29th for anyone wondering.

Yeah, don't get your hopes up on the video support. MKV files are usually used to encode pirated Blu-Ray files, so Sony definitely won't be supporting that anytime soon. If ever.

Which is why I use PS3 Media Server to stream files over to my PS3 via wireless. Flash player? Not a big concern for me. I'm on my PC for internet more than I do the PS3, because the browser on it sucks for videos.

I figured they wouldn't support all. sweatdrop.gif How did you set up a Media Server?

Hard to go in detail for every step here.

Google it online, there are nice people out there with plenty of guides.

I didn't even have to set it up, I just installed, changed a few setting to my likings and it works good, I like using it to steam my anime.

Yea, that's the easy way, but the program that we're talking about encodes files while it streams, basically letting you play some files the PS3 doesn't normally support but it doesn't take up any extra space or create new video files.

Tvserity has problems encoding some files like MKV. And most anime and movies I d/l now use MKV, and it's a hassle when a program can't encode them.

PS3 media server does it perfectly with no lag.

Microsoft is officially stupid, so goodbye to hopes of having past Halo or Gears games on Kinect. th_cussing.gif Microsoft destroyed my hopes of playing Gears and Halo with Kinect. shamefulcry0js.gif
