Here's my impression of the Gintama fandom: Relatively "small" compared to the other shounens, but very vocal and friendly to each other. Can quickly go on the defense line though when a newcomer calls Gintama boring based on their first impressions. Other than that, no shipping wars or continuous rants.

We mostly get excites for the plot (see us when a new chapter is out) and mostly people ship OkiKagu though no one is fighting for who would end up with who unlike other fandoms, we just don't like people saying something when they don't really know it since Gintama has a slow beginning compare to most shonen

Slow and steady wins the race. Lately, that's true unless your work has an end under 200 chapters. A lot of series just can't keep up if they do a lot of good things.

Coming back from a stupid youtube discussion. SO MAD!!!!!!!! Here's someone who said this about Gintama. Oh, and before you ask, I don't really watch shows like Simpsons, South Park, or in this case, Family Guy, which is why the person was explaining Family Guy to me after I didn't understand what someone else was trying to refer to when he made a Family Guy reference:

"Gintama is pretty bad though. The comedy only entertains children or those with simple minds. It should focus more on being an actual series instead of a "comedy" made for practically autistic kids.

The phrase 'Japanese Family Guy better than anything' was him saying that "Gintama" is the Japanese version of the show that's called "Family Guy." In other words, he was placing it along the lines of senseless or moronic, just like the show called 'Family Guy'. To narrow it up some more; he was calling it dumb. To narrow it up some more, again, he's saying that it's impossible for a dumb show to be better than anything."

 

So right Ryo. I'm also a hardcore Gintama fan, and I can't stand it if someone talks like this about one of my favorite shounens. ESPECIALLY LIKE THIS. Gimme a chair or so, cause I need to release my anger.

Oh, and before you ask, I don't really watch shows like Simpsons, South Park, or in this case, Family Guy, which is why the person was explaining Family Guy to me after I didn't understand what someone else was trying to refer to when he made a Family Guy reference:

You know what's funny. If you were here, I was explaining the comedy difference and wouldn't you know it, recent NC video talked about "When is joke considered too much" alas offensive. He actually compared Family Guy and South Park and pretty much said what I said, "South Park is better because of the comedy style is something we truly can appreciate while Family Guy do whatever it takes to make it funny." Gintama is the former because of the punchline and such.

I watch all of them and I have no idea how Family Guy and Gintama are similar. I see it more of its own, but if you want to compare quality, I would compare it with South Park. It can go wacky and ridiculous for all it wants, but in the end, the punchline and/or lesson is always thrown in and makes it complete and rather than mindless and take it far that just offend.

That guy is a drama king Remember in the "might" episode? He's trying to drive to get driving license and he makes lots of "might" scene from his imagination I don't know that guy can be like that

He wouldn't know what's comedy even if it hit him straight in the face . And if he really pays attention to Gintama he would know that the comedy part is unique which later builds up to something extraordinary with lots of depth and emotions  . For someone who's quick to judge the people who're following Gintama as morons and insult autistic kids he turns out to be the biggest illiterate moron this world holds *sigh* . God I'm mad now !!! He needs to be castrated !!! .

I know. Well, they won't change order to those who get effected by the serious arc or whenever a new recurring character shows up. That said I do look forward to one that they skipped for now animated because I thought it was a nicely told story and to think, we will see that character after so long. This is why I had to write more to my LAP, due to use of its universe.

I can't tell you but like in one chapter, her being tomboy sure brings a strong perk to Otaku fans. I admit, it does work on me and I don't see myself as an Otaku. If I am, it will be extremely light. I'm not that crazy, or at least how Gintama display them here. Funny, because according to them, tsundere is classic and easy turn on for Otaku fans. Hm, that seems right for me.
