Oh yes, so what development people got? Midoria got nothing, that problem was before tournament. Bakugou, oh look, more rage! The only thing we got on this tournament (other than obvious character revelation) is Todoroki's problem, and now suddenly he changed mind beacuse he beat Deku, huh...
Pretty good chapter in terms of showing home situations.
.......you guys didn't seriously expect for them to all develop in one arc, right?

I'd be pissed of if that became a running gag. I'm expecting him to develop in the future although he'll most likely always be raging if his opponent isn't given his best XDHow would you feel that Bakugou is made to be pissed off forever on for any routines, alas here being comedy?

But loooooook at Ochako's mother!! She's wearing Sakura's outfit from The Last. I know I'm reaching like SS stans right now but really....And and like what if....just what if her dad is blonde??? Or if her mom has pink hair??? I mean of course one of them has to have brown hair but still.....
I'm gonna live in my own little headcanon and just pretend that Kouhei stole Naruto and Sakura's happy ever after and put them here.

I wouldn't mind it but...an overplayed gag is an overplayed gag. Eventually character development will ensue, so I'm not really bothered about this happening. I just love how Bakugou is experiencing defeat in a whole different meaning. It's stepping blocks for here on out.

I'm honestly trying not to imagine NaruSaku in any of my new ships...But loooooook at Ochako's mother!! She's wearing Sakura's outfit from The Last. Todoroki is finally willing to come to terms with his emotional discord and Midoriya understands now that abusing his body like this is not only detrimental to him but worries his friends and family so he can't keep going on like that. And I'm sure Uraraka and Iida have gotten new reasons to fight on. So all in all we see their families and progress even if just a bit on their reasons for becoming heroes so I like it.

Ikr?! Makes a lot of sense. I'd imagine fanon Shinachiku being like Ochako. That would be nice.

I loved this chapter, but I loved every chapter so lol. In one chapter, Kouhei gave depth to almost all of his characters than the entirety of Konoha 11. Not saying that they weren't developed, but we only found out about their lifestyles through spans of chapters. Besides, we didn't even know Sakura's parents until RtN. And she was a main character. 
Also, I love the normalcy of their home life. No "my entire clan was killed and my father was sacrificed to save the word" stuff.

Just like in Naruto back then, sometimes I like my shounen mangas the most when they are just depicting the characters in their daily lives.

I thought it was development, but for character backgrounds. We got a taste of all of their lifestyles. And it wasn't meant to plot progress, it was meant to show their personal lives. That's why the chapter's called "compensatory day of rest".

Well, character development and story progression are not really the same thing. But other than that I agree it was good insight on each character's homelife and what new drives they will have to become heroes.
