If your talking about the Hard Work theme that got ruined LONG ago.

Nah, it got ruinded with reincarnation, not that long ago. Hinata, literally failed in every way but getting "big and strong hand", with the last, in manga - there was nothing pointing to NH from both sides, but you saw everything with your own eyes, I think. With her "the Last", she literally rewrote story itself.

EDIT: Definitely, gonna see the anime to see how they'll animate this 8 gates scene (it'll prob be disappointing).

I don't see how she ruined the stories theme. I agree most people hate Hinata cause of her fanbase.

She had potential but like the rest of the Konoha 11 Kishi didn't care......

 

For the story theme she corrupted you need to go back at part 1 during the chuunin exam, where Naruto challenged Neji's notion of destiny.

Neji at that time was a fatalist that thought you couldn't choose your destiny, you couldn't control it

 

Naruto punched those ideas out of his head and thanks to that he went through character development

 

In part 2 Kishi forgot about that and made Naruto child of prophecy and reincarnation of a demigod, it completely destroyed the notion about destiny that was introduced during part 1.

 

When I say Hinata helped destroying and corrupting this plot point is the revelation she was the "byakugan princess" , receiving powers directly from Hamura to accomplish her destiny and defeat Toneri 

 

That's what I mean

 

But you guys have a point to talking about hardwork, this was forgotten too

Does anyone agree with what tv tropes said about naruto the last ymmv section and the wallbanger sections?

• Strangled by the Red String: The film was made partly to avoid this. The manga gave a proper justification for Hinata falling in love with Naruto. But Naruto falling in love with Hinata wasn't that much explored outside of Ship Tease moments. The film basically fixes Naruto's part of the love equation.
  • While the film was successful in that regard, thanks to Sasuke's Demoted to Extra status, the same couldn't be done for Sasuke and Sakura. Although a few key lines and shots heavily imply that they also had to work things out somewhere down the line before they finally got together. We just haven't seen it...yet.

 

• On the same note as Base Breaker above: Hinata's Deliberately Distressed Damsel plan. Some see it as reasonable enough action, considering it was her best shot at finding Hanabi. The rescue group had completely run out of leads at that point, after all, and she might have rightfully thought it was the only way. Others think it felt completely forced, specially the fact that Hinata doesn't consider the possibility of telling the others beforehand, and ends up being a contrived way of rising the stakes and creating romantic drama. The fact that this turns Hinata into an almost, if not straight Damsel in Distress in the eyes of many doesn't help one bit.

Broken Base: The whole premise of the movie, which basically brings one of the longest, most intense Shipping Wars in anime history to an end. If you're a shipper, depending on which pair you support this movie is either your wettest dream or your worst nightmare.

• Other than that, a few people were quite upset that Sasuke was Demoted to Extra in this film. On the flip side, other people were OK with it, since this is supposed to be Naruto and Hinata's love story, and unlike Sakura (who was Naruto's first crush), Sasuke was never part of that particular equation.

 

 

I don't agree with this one Because i critiqued this movie as a retcon so naruhina dosen't exactly avert the first love cilche.

 

I made an argument a while back but i can't seem to find it i know tricksie liked it.

 

I liked this one too!   

 

I looked at tv tropes a while back (like right after the movie came out) and remember there wasn't too much neutral-type stuff about Naruto, the movie, the ending, etc. So I'm glad enough time has passed that people are able to start making realistic summaries/reviews/connections about the ending. It's not all with shipping goggles. It's a little bit of long-awaited vindication.

 

And I agree, I would say it's a retcon since Hinata wasn't Naruto's first love and Naruto is never shown to get over Sakura. He is just told he it was a rivalry. But personally I don't consider the Last as part of the canon. More like a bridge to make the leap to the new series. I'm sure there's a snappy term for that.

 

I'll have to check out tv tropes again when I have several hours to kill! lol

Naruto was born with a Monster Fox inside him who he was obviously going to befriend, he's like Sasuke in every way, Lee is the only true hardworker but even then Sasuke, Neji, and Naruto work hard too.

Well the inconsistences with RTN doesn't really matter since its just a filler movie, the last is canon

Naruto's next villain will clearly be female, to bring some love drama into NH's happy lives. It will go like this,

 

An evil hideous witch will want revenge against Konoha and turn herself into a beautiful woman and slowly seduce Naruto, which is why he's never at home, Bolt will begin to suspect something and wined up hating Naruto, once he finds out his father is a cheating bastard. Then, Uncle Sasuke, will come along( given the fact that he's immune to all women.) and help Bolt, break the evil witches love spell, she wields over Naruto. Because there's no other way Naruto would ever not love Hina-hime-kawaii-desu-boobs-chan, unless he was forced, amirite?

 

Salad will watch everything from behind a tree, while Sakura cleans the house. Hinata will be teaching Moptop how to knit, and no one will ever know what happened, while living happily ever after.

When Naruto wins most of his fights with Kurama and when Kishi decided to say it beats talent. 

Naruto got Kurama sealed inside of him which gives him a far better advantage than anything Neji had or Sasuke (Pre-Mangekyou) and when he was revealed to be a part of a clan that has massive chakra reserve. When Lee is the only one with a handicap and never won a single fight. And the Talent bet is just stupid because Sasuke/Neji worked equally hard as Naruto but Kishi glorifies Naruto's training more.
