My likely towards Sakura's character has gone down. While I do agree her character was ruined, I wouldn't say it was a 100% destroyed. Tbh with you I use to hate Sakura because how weak she was back in part 1 and how she made fun of Naruto about not having any parents. As the series went on she slowly grew on me. She obviously isn't weak anymore and Naruto is now an important person in her life. I always thought her love for Sasuke was holding her back and hoped she would be able to get past it for her development. In the end though, it was the one thing she didn't accomplish.

At the end of the day it's the female characters that get torn down because of shipping, and it's sad to see. I guess it's not too surprising, but it always does make me shake my head at how much a fandom can claim to love female characters/women, yet turn around and do the exact opposite. Sakura's not at fault here, she loved Sasuke from chapter three onward. That was just her being in character. The manga...was not about you getting over bonds. It was about keeping them. And Naruto, it's weird to me that there's this mentality that just because you do the bare minimum of being a decent human being, that you somehow deserve a woman...as if she's a prize? Like, what? If Sakura's feelings weren't swayed, then that's the end. She's not a prize, she's a person. Naruto was a nice guy, not a NiceGuy™

 

I'm glad that Naruto was a decent human being and moved on. If you're only nice to someone to essentially get with another person, then you're not a 'nice guy'. You're a manipulative jerk. I like seeing Naruto not end up that way.

 

In my fanon, Naruto and Sakura are together. I enjoyed the pairing enough not to need canon. And well, canon is kind of over here anyway.

l like how you didn't address any of the very real issues with Sakura's portrayal and complete lack of the semblance of a character arc only to focus on that typical pseudo feminist outrage at the way the fandom perceives her, as if it was our fault, as if we had to find Sakura great just because she was a girl. There's even the little part about Nice Guys, how delightful. l guess you can take solace on the fact you're sharing the same views as the SS fandom. You're in good company.

I'm happy because that means Sakura and Sasuke will have some important role in the movie. That was what I was affraid the most.

 

Also note aside. I saw some SS/NH reactions concerning the movie, and I'm surprised, because on one side SS are complaining about not having enough spotlight comparing to NH which got all the promotion for itself and on another side NH are complaining because even if they're happy being canon that movie confirmed what we, NS fans, always said: Naruto wasn't in love with Hinata in the manga, so they're complaining that this movie cancelled their precious development in which Naruto already loved Hinata in the manga.

Lol well kishi did say you didn't have to read the manga to understand the movie, but it's kind of funny how it proves naruto never loved Hinata through 699 chapters but suddenly fell for her in a movie. Wow! You expressed my very thought. As I said several times, that movie depict NH in a very bad way, because in the end, Hinaat could have been any random girl as long as she has that background story that is in the movie, Naruto would have fall in love with that random girl.

Even NH fans know that they got the short end of the stick with this movie. XD They know that full story manga development trumps a 60+ minute movie.
Hardcore Naruhinas don't care but in time when they go back to the series they'll start to feel disatisfied seeing Naruto in love with Sakura the entire time and ignoring Hinata.
Hinata wasn't Naruto's love interest; She was a replacement/back up plan for him once Kishimoto decided he wasn't going to pair Sakura with him.
Still proud to be an NS fan.

No, that's actually complete bullsh** on his part. Apparently, the only way Sakura could be with Naruto was if she was fickle, so basically it's his way of saying that he just didn't like NS as a pairing. Most other writers would have Sakura slowly move on from Sasuke and onto Naruto instead of having her look fickle for moving on from Sasuke to Naruto. Again, he actually thinks SasuSaku is a good thing. He actually thinks Sakura's mindless devotion towards Sasuke is a good thing.
