Just didn't agree with the last paragraph.
I dont think the ending destroyed her character 100%
She still came a long way from her weak self in part 1. I just think she lacked emotional development, in the end she couldn't fully help naruto and Sasuke as she said in the beginning of part 2, her feelings for sasuke were never given a solid reason and she still acted weak as hell around him.

Well guys in the end it isn't the characters fault
Its all kishi's fault, that guy doesn't know how to develop females characters properly ( he is clueless like that)

Well in the end she changed nothing from her part 1 self... or wait i think theres something; She got a lil taller and her hair got shorter...

 

I love when people b*tch about Sakura but ignore Naruto's failings on all this. It honestly brightens my days so that I can laugh at them.

Narutos failure is another chapter, we are talking about Sakura right now. Naruto failed in some points too, but its not even coming close to what happened to sakura.. this could change with the movie tho

They both fail, absolutely. I think people tend to fixate on Sakura because her failings seem so much larger within the context of how Kishi presents her in 699 & 700. 

That may be true, but Naruto is the main character. He's the one who constantly barrages us with "I'm not going to give up, Blahblahblah...Op! never-mind, giving up now." he's supposed to be the one to change kitten. He's supposed to be the one who is resolute, unyielding and constant, but he failed. 

Sakura was changing, she was fluid, she DID confess--honestly by word of god. Naruto called her a liar, in front of everyone they know, and acted like a piss-ant to someone who was apparently being truthful. Ball was in his court from that moment on and he fumbled it--but lets just focus on Sakura because she's an easy target. 

And Sakura? Well, she regressed right back to part 1--after feeling like she was stabbed in the chest by a hand, and running to the person who did it It seems like her brains might have been scrambled by that Genjutsu, because it just doesn't jive. 
 

 

In the end its neither Naruto's nor Sakura's fault
Its kishimoto, he was the one pulling the strings, really.

So we can criticize the character development and all

But ultimately the one at fault is kishimoto

 

If we just take KISHI out of the puppeteer seat and look at this inverse, its both their faults. 

Outside sure, he kittened up.

Im talking about strength, Sakura in part 1 is useless, Sakura at near the end of part 2 certainly is not. Granted she could be stronger if kishi so desired, i mean she had an amazing potential for genjutsu that was never fully developed

I am not complaining that Naruto isn't being bashed,  I'm complaining about the onesidedness of this "Oh look Sakura kittened everything up!" BS. As the Main character, yes he has the most sway on the story, so in that respect, I'm correct. He deserves blame for this debacle and I am not going to sit around and watch one person get thrown under that bus without throwing the OTHER guilty party under there as well. 

If they belong together, they can belong under the wheels of that vehicle hand in freaking hand.

At what moment did I say she wasn't f**cked over? The answer is NEVER. What I did was provide the OTHER half to this BS. I provided an EQUAL argument to all the Sakura shaming that was was going down, and it was warranted, it had nothing to do with deflection but being FAIR.

At the end of the day it's the female characters that get torn down because of shipping, and it's sad to see. I guess it's not too surprising, but it always does make me shake my head at how much a fandom can claim to love female characters/women, yet turn around and do the exact opposite. Sakura's not at fault here, she loved Sasuke from chapter three onward. That was just her being in character. The manga...was not about you getting over bonds. It was about keeping them. And Naruto, it's weird to me that there's this mentality that just because you do the bare minimum of being a decent human being, that you somehow deserve a woman...as if she's a prize? Like, what? If Sakura's feelings weren't swayed, then that's the end. She's not a prize, she's a person. Naruto was a nice guy, not a NiceGuy™

 

I'm glad that Naruto was a decent human being and moved on. If you're only nice to someone to essentially get with another person, then you're not a 'nice guy'. You're a manipulative jerk. I like seeing Naruto not end up that way.

 

In my fanon, Naruto and Sakura are together. I enjoyed the pairing enough not to need canon. And well, canon is kind of over here anyway.

I don't NEED the canon. I just wanted it to make sense. SS does not make sense. NH makes more sense, but still was not well sold. 

I'm not going to watch people go "Wahwahwah Sakura's the reason why this happened." without pointing out that SHE CONFESSED. She did it honestly, he turned her down, and then called her his GF to his dead dad.

Yeah lets just forget good story telling and make the main character whos supposed to win everything in the end like in normal good storys, loose everything. I agree but her character is still ruined. It was perfect until 693, and redeemable until 699. 

 

So the movie is going to be mushy? Sounds like a multitude of NH moments to me. SS and NS already have a good amount of mushy pairing moment albeit one of them is mostly one-sided. I'm hoping that SS doesn't get many moments in the movie bc its simply an abomination. It's abuse, its negect, its an uneven relationship where both ppl have to lie to themselves to be happy, and it destroys Sakura's character development. I'd be more accepting if she had at least held him accountable for what he did instead of questioning his apology, but of course not. Sasuke is bulletproof.

 

NH I don't have a problem with. If only it had been developed more. Hinata can be creepy but she is a nice girl who has proven her character strength to an extent. 

 

But whatever, at this point Post 693 Sakura is dead to me. She's not the real Sakura.
