And why not? I'm pretty sure Kishimoto didn't knew how Naruto would end when he first created it.

Well I don't know. Probably because the origins of the MAIN CHARACTER was not thought out properly in the first place? But I'm gonna go with Catwho that he had a vague idea and decided to change it to copy Skyrim's. Anyway I thought the origins of Acnologia was cool.

Dragon dominated humans, until an dragon went against their ideals and helped the humans (Paarthunax) and then proceded to teach human magic to fight dragons (shout), wich led to not only the fall of the evil dragons, but also the good ones. Since Mashima is an RPG lover, I wouldn't be surprised if he got many references from Skyrim.

Good theory but I think Mashima had this planned from the beginning, he introduced Lucy with the Zodiac powers, talked about Zeref early on, Natsu the Dragon Slayer magic, everything was already introduced early, even the Dragon King Acnologia was mentioned when Gildart returned from his 100 Year mission. So I don't think it was Skyrim that inspired it, but the likely chance of most Skyrim and Fiary Tail getting the idea from the same source.

Well, the Zodiac powers comes from FFXI. He just used Earth's zodiac instead of making up constellations like they did in XI (based on the classic FF summons, of course.)

Not going to argue there, I know Mashima is a fan of RPG games, he's even written a Monster Hunter Manga, but FFXI came out a decade ago, where Fairy Tail was released in 2006, Skyrim came out last November, by which time this current arc had already begun, All the tools had already been set in place before Skyrim was released. That why it seems unlikely Skyrim had anything to do with the this.

The twist with Acnologia was cool. I was kinda wondering why he seemed so mindless compared to the dragons that raised Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel (well, the first two anyway, I don't think Metallicana's ever had a spoken line). It seems it has to due with how much power he obtained, since even the anti-human dragons seem to have minds of their own.

Oh, and the Jade Dragon was hilarious. I'm kinda dissapointed we probably won't ever see him again.

Yeah, I'm of the same mind. I think these parallels just seem more obvious when you're a fan of both works. Too be honest, I thought the dragon/human backstory seemed a lot more similar to a plotline used in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken. Which would seem to be a more likely source, given it's a Japanese game, and didn't only come out a year ago.

But again, I think it's more likely that both plot elements were inspired by the same source. Dragons giving magic to humans was well-established as early as Chapter 2, and the rest seems general enough for Mashima to have drawn inspiration from any number of sources.

Of course, if Mashima ever admits to drawing inspiration from one of these games, I'll concede the point in an instant.

So time travel is involved afterall, another similarity between Fairy Tail and Rave Master.

So does this explain why Natsu could not get past the age line, as well as why Zeref knows Natsu, he met him in the past and it was him who convinced Zeref of changing his way.

Things are starting to make sense now, why the Master was troubled by three Dragon Slayers joining the guild, he mentioned something about a fate, it was fate because the three dragon slayers went back in time and had told someone they were from the future, and what if the power of Fairy Tail, is similar to that of that gate seen just seem Lumen Histoire, that would translate to light History right? I think that can't be a coincidence.

Whilst i'm throwing out theories, what if the first guild master was a decendent of Lucy and Natsu...actually from the drawing Codus posted last week what if Acnogolia IS Natsu? He gets dragged into the war between Dragon Slayers and Dragons and ges turned in a Dragon by Zeref.

I also suddenly hope that instead of "dying" the three dragon slayers simply disappeared, or like what just happened to Natsu, had their magic power taken away leaving them essentially corpses in the present day until their magic could be returned. Damn, I was sure Arcadios was the Big Bad all this time, too. Damn! *bites nails*

Does anyone else think Yukino's sister, Sorano, is gonna turn out to be Angel of Oracion Seis? I don't know if it was technically established in the canon, but it was shown in the anime that most of the members of that guild (everyone except Brain) were child laborers taken by the Zeref cult, just like Erza and her friends were. It seemed suspicious that they didn't show her face.

They have the same hair color, so by anime logic they must be related!

I was kinda confused at first that FT chose Juvia over Mira to take Natsu's place, but the last page shed some light on that. I'd still say that Freed or Elfman are probably stronger than she is, but I suppose she's got a bigger fanbase than they do.

Looking forward to some Na/Lu in the upcoming chapters!

@harry: Yeah, the artwork does seem a little sharper. I wonder if Mashima's experimenting with a slightly different art style, or something.

Anyways, it would seem that not only RtN is being aired in Singapore, but also FT's movie as well. The big kicker for me is that it's just right above my country!!! this is why I'm rather peeved at the fact.

Awwww, I don't think any of them will air around me, at least not for a long time. The Trigun movie aired in an art cinema in Atlanta about six months after its release.

Boo, Bacchus is down again! I like Mavis's strategy - stand around and let the other teams eliminate each other first. Quattro Puppy is all defeated; about half the other team members remain. And Mirajane's strategy was brilliant too. Who the hell is the princess?! *throws hands in the air* So much for my conspiracy theory that Jellal is the long lost prince of this country, too.
