Now that explains the hiatus. A mass release update lol *jokes*. And quite the anticlimactic for Naruto's reunion with Sakura. I'm hoping Tokai does not skipped through NS scenes (most likely a flashback) somewhere in the future or else I will start having the same doubts as I did over a decade ago during the final 4th war arc.

 

Onto the pages with Hinata, going to respond to Ken's question "What's going with Hinata" as my opinion. It seems like my worry has perhaps come true as a former Sakura fan or still fan of the Sakura that was never meant to be... mainly because at this point of the story, I don't see her being the FML. With all the screen time Hinata's getting, I don't see any significant role Sakura's character can play in this story.

 

Going to give my final like verdict on this character FML title that goes to Hinata.  This is something I did not want but expected deep down inside. Naruto: The Last was catered towards Hinata's a**pull character development. This explains why we are getting a lot of story and screen time from Hinata. If Tokai (dounjin author) proceeds with the climax has he intended to be NaruSaku ATL endgame, Sakura will not be the FML. 

 

As we know, not all male protagonist ends up with the female lead as we witnessed chapter 700's abominations and Harry Potter for an example. I'm not found of NS being sub plot or Sakura being the supportive character in this story version. Nevertheless... there's a silver lining to all of this. If everything  goes according to plan, Hinata will up the same as Sakura unable to obtain the male protagonist with a closure OF HER MOVING ON 

 

 

 

On the other hand,  I will still stand by my older posts. There's a slim chance (but very unlikely) of a villainization of Hinata coming our way with all this build up with the Sage Six Paths family tree linking to Hinata and her being the Byakugan Princess. I seeing her not being a true villainess. Just a possessed host after obtaining the Tenseigan that either leads to another resurrections of Kaguya  or introduction of darkside Hinata (consumed by negative emotions) . Either way, that'll likely make her the final boss of Alternative The Last.

 

The K10 have to fight Tenseigan possessed Hinata  in order for Hinata to be restored to her previous self.

 

There's also a silver lining for this too   Even if this is all short lived moment for Hinata, she will be the most powerful character in the Naruverse. This is at least a treat to some Hinata fans that are not fans of NH. I mean, I know this doujin is fanfiction and villainizing Hinata may be considered character bashing for a number of reason other than her being an obstacle for Naruto's affection. But I don't see it that way if Tokai gives us a proper Hinata closure. Not to mention Hinata fans will be treated by some Hinata badass moments (along with Sakura) that will never ever be serialized in Jump comics

When the artist isn't even doing a page a month eventually, the last one was in February, you will forget about it, and again its slightly better version of a bad movie. So once you stop obsessing over the Last you will slowly stop caring about this fan project.

I thought Berserk updates were the worse, especially,the current cliffhanger of that manga. What makes this doujin or fan content so forgettable is how long this Hinata Byakugan Princess arc has been dragged out like for eternity *sigh*. I don't like the feeling that this doujin is on the chopping board ready to be axed.

Berserk issues is the fact the original creator you know died and a friend is trying to finish it to the best of their ability in honor of the original mangaka. If they don't then their reputation will be torn apart.

 

The problem with this fan project is it trying to turn a project that was about glorifying Hinata and justifying her becoming the love interest...no that she is the true main character and the most perfect woman to ever been created and deserves the man she is entitled to; into a NS story with without changing that much. So there is a lot of the plot is about Hinata in this story, which this artist might not be that interested in or maybe they are getting tried of the idea of this rewrite. Like I said years ago they should have just made their own ending if they were this passionate instead of trying to change The Last.

Sorry took me awhile to get to you. A funny enough, my friend got me reading Berserk because of the famous Darksouls and Elden Ring (I soon son planning to play) was inspired by Berserk, despite me knowing what happen to the female lead Caska in the early years of Berserk. What really sealed the deal for me is that my friend was very convinced that the Berserk love triangle (in my opinion its not) Guts/Caska/Griffith could have helped Kishimoto brainstorming more ideas to improve the Team 7 love triangle dynamics, minus the dark conclusion to the Hawk Band arc. 

 

My impressions are its more or less. Same can be said with similarities between Naruto/Sakura and Guts/Caska. The only thing I can agree with my friend is that Sasuke theoretically be written like Griffith. The Naruto series settings has to be same as Berserks'. Can't mimic that while Naruto remains in the Shonen rated category. My only complaint is that I don't think Kishi could write something so dark as Berserk and illustrated at the same time. I'm basing this off of him having lack of confidence of writing romance. I don't think he has to balls to write/illustrate people being sexually intimate or violating (if you know what I mean). That's the Kishi from the past.

 

To be fair, the guy could have redeemed himself long enough since is been past a decade since the publication of chapter 700. 10 years ago, I said I would no longer read anything Kishi serialized in the future. But with all the Chinese garbage wuxia novels I've been addicted to for the past seven years, I wouldn't mind Kishi prove me wrong once more. He has to get away from Naruto and Boruto. It's possible (even though its one in a million chance of that ever happening)  that he might be granted to give us an alternate ending one-shot NS when Boruto's time is up. But we all know nothing will repair Naruto and its former glory no matter what. Only issue is that Kishi should have reach his sixties and the more he works on Boruto the less chance of him having enough energy and mentality to do something else because age is against him now.

 

 

 

Judging by the title of this chapter, we might not see any more NS interaction till later on. However, judging by this last page, it sets up Naruto and Sakura being alone. All she has to do is regain consciousness and we might have something to enjoy in this chapter. If not, onto the next chapter whenever that may be.

 

I know many agree that Tokai should have made NS story original. But the reality is that its taken him/her this long to mirror the exact scenes onto digital paper, taken from The Last movie film. How much longer will it take to make the doujin original? Much more longer because Tokai has nothing but his/her imagination and little to work from chapter 700. And that's what this doujin fan work is being slowly published. Because everything from here on out relating to NS will be original. Only reason why I hope Tokai is mirroring the canon material and not skipping over the like what he/she done with Hinata's sister's abduction, is to buy more time to mesh out NS's conclusion. It's an tall order to get it right. Hopefully the NS plot has been already in development while the Byakugan Princess Arc is in progress. Otherwise its going to be very cheesy if anything at all.

Skip Beat is one of the top manga ever like top 7 right now right behind Naruto at 6 and is The Shounen Sports Manga that all sports manga since have taken inspiration from.

 

The problem with NS isn't its inspiration or lack of it. Its that Kishimoto was too traditional with his story. "The pairings get together at the end" is how it normally goes for shounen manga. Thing is... most shounen manga rarely make it past 3-5 years before The Big 3 Era. Naruto lasted 15 years and people got sick of the holding position, not just the romance, and it allowed his editors to convince him to change it because it seemed The West hated her.

 

Naruto problems' were never about it not being dark enough. It was that it was too shallow. It was unwilling to explore or question its ideas, messages, and story. Which left it one of the most generic shounen story that shounen jump has produce.

 

Judging by Samurai 8 and the fact he hasn't produce anything beyond that Minato one shot since. He needs a strong editor, but more importantly I think he needs to get over what happened with Naruto for him to move forward as a mangaka.
