Talking about sister, Shoko in search of her sister is a lot more than Seiya was and still that in ND we are not sure what to say.

well I mean it's because the Original series concluded 30 years ago now, and even in the canon sequel Seiya hasn't spoken with Seika or even seen her face. Kurumada is keeping them apart like star-crossed lovers.   Actually that applies to Seiya and Saori too when you think about it

This comment makes me to say it again, why not Kurumada made Marin her sister or made us believe that she is her sister.
