A friend of mine.

Hard to say. It's like me thinking whole city where I live loves NH, but I wouldn't know unless I placed a survey of my own in here, but who knows who would answer.

I feel like Spain is surrounded by NS fans. Well..it's a big country, and my only source is DA. XD It's always something in Spanish, and I try to learn from it because my Spanish is pretty dry.

As for my country, most people dropped it after part 1 I think, and my friends are moderate NS fans. I think the rest of my population is neutral, but I've never heard of a NH fan here.

if something gets really popular it will also get really hated, that's not something new, it's just how things work. Justin Beiber, Call Of Duty, The Big 3, just about anything that's popular will be hated. That kind of stuff just happens.

There's a difference here between types of fans.

Some people like NH, but they don't believe it will be canon, they just like the couple. There are a few people like that in my college. I've only spoken to them about the subject in passing. But in general, they don't believe the pairing will be canon, but they still like it. It's similar to the idea of a 'crack pairing'. The couple has almost no chance of ever happening (ItaSaku) but they find it appealing anyway.

There's nothing wrong with fans like that. People will like what they like and you shouldn't criticize them for that alone.


The other type of fan are the ones we consider 'crazy' who will take anything and everything available and try to make it fit their idea of canon. Anything that suggests their pairing won't happen is wrong. They will trust first translations of certain scenes and will never try to find out what the true translation is. They will deny the advances of any other possible pairing and call the opposition delusional. They will bash any character that is a threat to their pairing. This kind of fan exists in all fandoms, but the most outspoken ones most of us see appears to be NH.



Something random btw. Someone linked me to a thread on NF today, the topic was "Who do you like better, Mikoto or Kushina?" or something like that. I figured the obvious choice would be Kushina. We know more about her and Kishi himself seems fond of her. Added onto that, she's Naruto's mom and her dying moments were quite emotional. I was surprised to see Mikoto so close to her in the poll though. We hardly know anything about Mikoto other than her sweet personality from the little scenes from Sasuke's point of view.

Added onto that, I discovered that fans actually do notice parallels and how similar Sakura and Kushina really are. Some said they hate Kushina because she's Sakura 2.0 and they don't like her violent personality. They hate Sakura, and that spreads onto Kushina. I guess that means some people just don't like Tsundere characters.

So I say, Sakura fans, do not fear the hate Sakura gets. I'm sure other tsundere's from other manga's get just as much hate. The difference is, Naruto is a much more popular series than most. Added onto that, many who read Naruto only read/watch Naruto and nothing else. They probably don't realize that Sakura (and Kushina) are some of the most watered down tsundere's in tsundere history.

But back on topic, I think it's safe to say that most fans are not oblivious to the parallels Kishi draws between some characters. You'd have to be blind not to see some of the most obvious ones (heck, now that I look back at it, Tobi being Obito was so obvious, like REALLY obvious, I don't know why I was on the fence about it) They see the parallels, they just refuse to believe them. Some of the Naruto fanbase is more stubborn than Naruto himself.

They do notice it when they want to, cause when we're talking about MinaKushi parallel, than Kushina becomes similar to Naruto and Minato to Hinata.
This is NH logic, and I'm not surprised.

now tell me how kushina is paralal to naruto and minato to hinata. kushina is paralal to sakura thats for sure and naruto to minato in a certain way.
@kirabook you read my mind. about hitting naruto thats a general quallity of tsundere. in every anime and manga it happens. so whats wrong . you know i was thinking it from a while when i saw bleach. i liked orihime more than hinata . at least her love for ichigo is selfless. and she understands the feeling of ichigo for rukia.

Want to know a funny thing with the hinata and minato comparison argument, it does not exist, they are nothing alike save for the Ina in their names.

Actually you can make a better comparison between sakura and minato than hinata and minato, know how? Both are ordinary and incredibly smart. Also talented in their own ways, minato for the flying rajin and rasengan, sakura for her chakra control and medical knowledge. There more even between sakura and minato which is never even shown, what's really sad is, this stuff is actually closer and still beats crazy nh logic at its own game.

want to know beyond stupid logic for even more comparisons between naruto and sakura that still exist? Both have parents with names starting with k and m. Both have parents with the same or close hair colors, blonde for minato and Mebeki. Red for Kushina and darker pink for kizashi. Stilly closer than hinata.

What I like about sakura is her ordinary demeanor she is about as normal as one can get in the naruto world ability wise but she still outdoes many others. Where sakura is ordinary and does well in her position others like minato and jiriaya are the pinnacle of what they can become. Sakura won't reach the extent these 2 had but she can come pretty darn close for having no special latent powers or background.

Sorry if this post is kinda late but I had a few qualms with what you said, HauntedCake ...

Sorry can't agree it goes beyond fangirling. They fall in "love" with the image and idea of sasuke being amazing and perfect. Looks play a part as well but they fall in love with the books cover and don't bother to open the book.

I'm really annoyed that Sakura could still hold any feeling above freindship for sasuke at this point. It's starting to irritate me that she still can't see Naruto for what he really is to her. She still clings onto the hope of Sasuke returning and just dumping Naruto if he did. This is why i really feel that Naruto should be taken away from her, just temporarily but long enough to send a message to Sakura saying "Now do you realize who Naruto is to you?"

To TBH SS will never work, ever. They couldn't ever trust each other after trying to kill each other, Sasuke doesn't care about her at all and she just fangirled him. It's very much like NaruHina, other then the fact Naruto is nice to Hinata.


What pisses me off is that she still feels that Sasuke would be a better choice then Naruto to some degree which just drives me insane... HOW??

Conclusion: Sakura, open your eyes dear and see thst Naruto is far more then Sasuke will ever be.

Clearly, she did not accept him for what he really was and instead loved a mental image. Does this shout "Oh my god, Sasuke's the only one for her! She loves him unconditionally forever!!!" like SS fans like to argue? No, not at all. IMO, this is where her feelings for Naruto differ. Going through all that suffering, angst, self-loathing, and murder attempts only to be just crushing? What would that say about her character? I know she loves him so I feel bad for her. I could not disagree more with that statement that some part of her would dump Naruto for Sasuke. True, her character still has Sasuke as an obstacle but something like that is more reminscent of Part 1/Early Part 2 Sakura than current Sakura. I believe she deserves a lot more credit than that. Sakura is fully aware of how terrible Sasuke is and has it made it completely clear she does not like loving someone like him. Her confession to Naruto? Her part about "being crazy to love a rogue ninja" and "all he does is break my heart" were not lies. Sakura truly feels that way, it was just too soon for her to completely toss aside her romantic feelings for Sasuke when she was just told he joined the Akatsuki and was ordered to be killed. Her reality check fully happened after the murder attempts, reinforced with 540. She wants to get over him and soon, she no longer hopes she'll be with him. Sakura's not the same person. Besides, even if that was true, she would never start chasing after Sasuke again like before since she knows Naruto loves her. She cares far too much about hurting his feelings and being selfish like that after everything. Only if Naruto moved on would she be all 'Sasuke-kun' again. Quite obviously Sakura consciously admitting to him he was the better choice for her than Sasuke. What I'm picking up from Sakura so far is this: She shamefully loves Sasuke while simultaneously trying to will it away, is confused over Naruto but truly from the bottom of her heart wants to return his feelings and love him too. It's just taking her a while to sort out her feelings, she'll get there.

I dont mean to bash the entire NH population. Not by a long shot. My best friend is a neutral watcher and he almost got fooled by 615 (i fixed him up).
My comment was directed at the RABBIT NH Fundamentalists. The guys that are on youtube, the guys that do not listen to a single word of reason you trow at them, and even the guy baquette reffered to, the I KNOW THE TRUTH guy. THose are the kind of people that to some extend earn the retarded sticker. Not all NH fans just these guys. You know who im talking about.

I swear to god we both think alike! About a week ago i thought of the same thing with the comparsion between naruto and sakuras parents and between sakura and minato, also, I know this insignificant, but minatos bangs look exactly like sakuras and his eye lid, only him and sakura have those kinda eye lids in the whole naruto manga!

I know Sakura tried to make things right when she confessed to Naruto after Sai telling her he loves her. We saw how she practically, emotionally broke down but the confession to me seems very forced on her part ( as in she forced herself to love/confess to Naruto through guilt).

Here's a thing: how sure we are about her being her old self if Sasuke returns? To me, it's more like he's home, he's safe, that's good, the end. You can love someone still but if you already got rejected, you don't have to persuade to him, just hope for good for him. It's absurd for people to think she will be 180 once he returns. To me, I feel like she will have "it's done. Now what?" process if Sasuke does stay. What I mean is that she could be happy, but what about love, what about her. If she doesn't get an answer before the ending, then this moment can happen. It seems part 2 was made for her to compare journey with Sasuke (with Naruto) to journey with Naruto (no Sasuke).

The whole Naruto not knowing her developments as he is still in love but not telling is a blessing in disguise, waiting to open the rare treasure. Kishi clearly did this on purpose to let their personal developments to understand each other. What Sakura did was a rush start, but thankfully, Naruto push it aside. The problem with SS is that there wasn't any further than FoD. Everything else after it goes downhill. All Sasuke has in mind were Itachi and Naruto. Not even his flashback, minus the days as Team 7, have anything about her, while Naruto does, especially when he keeps thinking about his promise when confronting Sasuke in end of part 1. Naruto is about his relationships with individuals, not like Sasuke, who only focus one (Naruto). Besides, this is his story. Sakura is about learning reality and as of now, love is her last obstacle when it comes to mental developments.
